My dad was a kill buyer as his daughter i could tell him not to but I couldn't stop him. I remember when my personal horses got sick he'd send them to slaughter even if it was something easy to fix. When I was 12 I started buying and training my own horses so then it was my money my horses he couldn't touch and now that I'm 20 I'm trying to start up a rescue..... however so many people think its a scam and what not. I will get something started and thats my goal so I can save those horses that deserve a life better than what they already had.

@@Elisaatje601 He doesn't really speak to me anymore. A year ago I was still living with my parents and I bought a bareback bronc horse to train and start a better life for and my dads comment was bronc horses are like gold..... they most of the time end up in slaughter houses because people misunderstand what actually is happening to those "wild" horses. They aren't wild at all they are just scared and hurting. You wouldn't need a flank strap if it was truly wild. But I bought that horse because he had sores places i couldn't believe and he is beautiful. He's a mix of colors. He is a dun because he has a dorsal strip down his back but he is roany too with blue eyes. Hancock lines on his papers. He is now my best friend. I can ride him and do whatever but no one else can even touch him. My dad got mad that I proved him wrong.

I can't fathom how anyone would want to contribute to the pain and death of any one of them. I have volunteered with a horse rescue for half my life and I know what everyone goes through when they are trying to rescue a horse and the elation one feels when the horse is on rescue property. At a stable I used to ride at, the owner would buy horses off the race track and train them to find them new owners. 3 times a year at least she also hosted show events (jumping, dressage’s showing etc) At one of these events one of the horses I’d help train was there and looked so skinny, and ended up collapsing at one of the events. It was devastating. Especially since just a few months back he’d been healthy. A friend of mines father, who had 3 rescue horses of his own (one of which I used ride for them so she could be exercised) He went to the woman who owned that horse and bought him on the spot, and that horse now still belongs to him and is doing so much better all these years later. Such a wonderful family.

I rode an Arabian for years. I loved that horse like he was my own. The riding instructor I had at the time had a deal with a leaser on sharing the riding responsibilities. He was headstrong, stubborn and just one of the most spirited horses that I ever rode. Years later when I was at a new stable I went to compete at a show. I saw him again (he had unique markings, and the owner confirmed that it was him). I was utterly devastated, he was thin, and there was a broken look in his eyes. The owner proudly bragged that he was trained to jump by my instructor which I knew wasn’t true (he would stop dead at fences), and she bragged she had a purebred horse. She got into the arena and hit him hard with the crop to get him around. He hit every jump in a hunter’s class and I could tell she was angry with him. It broke my heart, especially since I was riding an old Appaloosa in the class and was looked at in disgust because the mare literally could stand at line up with the reins at the buckle.

People look at the purebred mark and ignore everything else. It sucks. Anglo arabs/ Arabian thoroughbreds can sometimes jump, because of the English thoroughbred in them. @@TuberoseKisser I think it's banned because horses aren't cattle. They have been serving humans for thousands of years, while cows and pigs were used as food. Because of this, the horses have been seen as workers and friends, while the other animals were seen as farm animals. This doesn't mean that horse meat isn't an option, people just have a different view on horses and their use.

She donated all she had to a rescue organisation like ur just before to save lives when she couldn't save herself. Her memory will always live within rescuing to me and watching ur videos just makes me go down in tears again cause it is so magical to be reminded of such an amazing person through the pictures of saving lives. In our hardest times it's mostly pets and beloved animals that get us up again. I just wanted to share my thoughts with this video. While working at a rescue, I went to many auctions and tried to buy as many horses I could. It was very scary, especially with the people who wanted to buy the horses I managed getting. They would get physical and it was a scary job. But nethertheless, I loved helping the horses and growing bonds with them. It took awhile but it was worth every minute. But I did have to leave due to problems. Seeing this makes my heart happy but sad at the same time. Horses have such wide personalitys, and when I worked at the rescue I sometimes forgot that I was hanging out with horses and not humans. It may be weird but I truly felt that. They are beautiful creatures and they do not deserved to be slaughtered or abused. This just really hit my heart and brought back memories, good and bad. Thank you!

@Vickie Hadd agreed. Though it takes time for an animal to realize that they're safe and sound once they realized that they start to make a turn for the good and get better. I may not work for a shelter or in rescue myself but my older sister took a cat away from a man who would abuse the cat. When I saw the cat and how bad his condition was, I was shocked, upset, mad at the jerk who abused him, but most of all I was worried for the cat. I was 7 years old who only seen shit like that on tv shows like animal planet. For a while I thought I was gonna wake up and the cat would have passed away, but he didn't. Once Snare realized that he had people fighting for his life he started to fight as well. 7 year old me saw a spark in his eyes that he wasn't ready to give up and die, that he wanted love and to be safe. Throughout the road of his recovery Snare was sick and had a fear of men, I don't blame him cause of what he went through, but it was still war between me and my sister vs our parents cause they wanted to send Snare to a shelter. It's been 12 years since that day Snare's life changed for the better, he is now safe, happy, and no longer looks sick, and he got over his fear of men. I still have him and wouldn't give him up for anything. He is now 14 years old and a hug Mama's boy. Once an animal realize that they're safe that's when they start to change for the better and no longer sad or depress

The same as puppy mills the overbreeding of horses for profit has to be heavily legislated into the future so these beautiful animals have enough humans available to experience the special love that they bring. It’s very moving how wonderful your love is for horses. The world needs special people like you. More power to you and everyone that works with you. ❤️
