Used to watch all these as a teenager on late night BBC 2 TV. Total utter tosh but they're absolutely brilliant! Lee and Cushing make anything they're in worth watching.

Actually he is continually portrayed as evil throughout this film but comes to his senses when the Countess talks to him and when he realizes police inspector Mirov is lieing.

@@christoffer4862 I don't see it as evil. He's single minded in purpose and is caught up in his own righteousness. When confronted with cold hard reality he acts accordingly and would have done so in the end regardless of consequences.
Written by my old screenwriting instructor at the school of visual arts. My own understanding of effective screenplay structure came directly from him and this movie is a reasonably )good example of good screenplay structure. I owe him a lot to this day.

we've all thanked the actors now kudos for that GORGEOUS EDWARDIAN TRAIN.
My parents played this movie when I was a kid more than thirty years ago. I forgot which movie it was except for the parts about the steam train and a creepy monk with red eyes, and that Siberian whistle. Very cool to find it now and watch it again. It's still scary as ever, and am glad to have been introduced to Lee and Cushing at such a young age. Classic movie, thank you for sharing.
Saw this as a kid and it scared the crap out of me. Love Telly Savalas
Lost track of how often I've watched this great movie. Never tired of it. Always brings me back to better times.

Thanks for sharing this film I was 1yrs old when this film came out, it's cool to see Christopher Lee, telly savalis and Peter cushing in the same film Awesome.
Some of the conversations made me smile. Peter Cushing’s assistant. Cushing to her: “I’m going to need your help”. Assistant to Cushing: “I’m not surprised at your age”. Lol.

@@joseortega-us6rn Yeah one way to take it is that British are monsters by default. Another is that being British makes them immune.
Thank you, not seen this film in years since my mother allowed me to stay up late one evening and watch it with her! I was a teenager at the time. Now I’m 57 and watching it this time around I must say I found Telly Savalas very dashing.
Thank you! Last time I've seen this movie was about 30 years ago, when I was a teenager and it scared crap of me. Such a great cast, especially duet Cushing and Lee. And of course Telly Savalas.

I really liked Horror Express when I first saw it in my teens on VHS. Telly Savalas made a particularly good impression as always.
I've never heard of this before...Cushing, Lee, Savalas...what a casting! Film is pretty good as well.
Great Classic of Terror of all times, absolutely fabulous Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing!
This is one of my favorite movies the orthodox priest reminds me of Gregory Rasputin the mad monk whose curse brought down the Romanov dynasty forever in Russia
@paulheydarian1281

From a Bolshevik perspective, that's probable heresy. 😅 The Russian revolutionaries would never share their victories with an orthodox priest.
I only remembered Telly Savalas from 70s series Kojak as i was a little kid.. my father used to watch the show along with Colombo, baretta an few others back then ..ahh good ole days & youth was😪
Good movie with a great casting lineup! 😃
I saw this years ago, it isn’t too bad, give it a peek.

¡Gracias! ¡Gracias! ¡Gracias! No conocía esta joyita. Un lujo: ver a dos grandes como Peter Cushing y Christopher Lee juntos, y además a dos actores muy populares en la TV Argentina de los '80: Telly Savalas y Alberto de Mendoza...
Great movie. Not the first time I've seen it. Whenever someone asks me for suggestions for a horror film, I always mention this.

The film was produced long before I was born, so I hope it will be a film truly worth watching😂❤🎉
Really enjoyed this one. Thanks CCC
I can remember this movie as a kid in the mid 70's watching this scared me near to death. They were like zombies to me then; the only things that I rooted for was Peter Cushing, Christerpher Lee and Telly Savalas RIP.

The Thing was based on a short story by John W Campbell written way before this movie tho...... this film's central idea is also loosely based on that same story !

Telly Savalas always plays the tough guy (being greek). My English father in law, was saying that my dad(being greek) looked like Christopher Lee.
I first saw this film late at night when I was little and never forgot the sight of the creature walking through the dark train with its mouth open and glowing red eye

It's a shame many of these old movies had post-film sound recordings that weren't very good. It's like watching a dubbed foreign film. Otherwise, a good film, good story, solid actors.

Seen this film acouple of times now... and I watch it again soon, also being more then "horror film"... the back story of the creature makes it for me.... no spoilers from me...
Super Horrorfilm mit 2 Filmlegenden Klasse!!
Good movie - Christopher Lee ist outstanding! Bytheway: The whistling theme is the same music used by the dancer Pablo Acosta in his performance in Russia (2016, Chernovskaja, Baladi dance, starting 1 min after recording)
Very clear picture😊
An excellent B horror movie from the 1970s starring Peter Cushing & guest-starring Telly Savalas. It’s an interesting plot too. I get the alien “monster” is a powerful telepath who can absorb memories & even transfer is mind to other bodies. But why did the police inspector’s hand physically transform into the Neanderthal’s hand after he was taken over by the alien mind? And why does the alien’s telepathic power only work in the dark? The movie doesn’t explain but I never could figure out why. Still it doesn’t detract from my enjoyment of this movie.
Fantastic cast, I have been wanting to watch this movie 🍿 thank you so much for the upload 😊❤
brilliant movie incredibly made for only 300000 !puts some 200 million dollar epics to shame.
