@@christoffer4862 I don't see it as evil. He's single minded in purpose and is caught up in his own righteousness. When confronted with cold hard reality he acts accordingly and would have done so in the end regardless of consequences.

Written by my old screenwriting instructor at the school of visual arts. My own understanding of effective screenplay structure came directly from him and this movie is a reasonably )good example of good screenplay structure. I owe him a lot to this day.

My parents played this movie when I was a kid more than thirty years ago. I forgot which movie it was except for the parts about the steam train and a creepy monk with red eyes, and that Siberian whistle. Very cool to find it now and watch it again. It's still scary as ever, and am glad to have been introduced to Lee and Cushing at such a young age. Classic movie, thank you for sharing.

An excellent B horror movie from the 1970s starring Peter Cushing & guest-starring Telly Savalas. It’s an interesting plot too. I get the alien “monster” is a powerful telepath who can absorb memories & even transfer is mind to other bodies. But why did the police inspector’s hand physically transform into the Neanderthal’s hand after he was taken over by the alien mind? And why does the alien’s telepathic power only work in the dark? The movie doesn’t explain but I never could figure out why. Still it doesn’t detract from my enjoyment of this movie.

Saw this movie on Creature Features on KTVU back in the day. Peter Cushing and Sir Christopher Lee were masters of horror films. Telly Savalas appeared as a Russian before Kojak.

What was that? Ch 2 (living in East Bay) Saturday or Sunday? Long time ago, '70s and '80s.
