I am sick of tired of "students rights." What about the grown adult teachers' rights? Oh! I forget - we have the right to be disrespected, underpaid, assaulted, blamed, lied about, lied to, bullied (by kids, parents AND Administration. And for what?!?!!

For next to no pay and a slap in the face whenever y'all call for higher wages of course. I don't see the problem. I mean, it's not like teachers are with the kids more than their actual parents or teach them how to read, write, and do the maths so they don't make a fool of themselves when trying for a good job

I’m positive they told the student and guardian about the consequences and why it was being done. It’s literally Step 1 in the disciplinary process. Parents like this make me shake my head. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

There have been students banded from prom and graduation for less. Like students who haven’t been able to walk for graduation or attended prom because of a hair style or hair color. This student however went above and beyond a student prank and went straight into a death wish. She should not be able to walk with her classmates who show integrity and respect for the school and their teachers. They should have asked her parents how would they feel if the teacher had of pranked the student by writing an obituary for their daughter and don’t give me that the teacher is an adult because if she is graduating she probably is 18 and considered an adult. As an educator if someone wrote an obituary about me I would seek some kind of penalty other than a suspension because I certainly would feel violated by the student’s words and intentions.

I taught in the same school district...really??? This is one of the schools that even the most seasoned teachers shy away from. Ironically, I had a student threaten to kill me at school. I immediately reported it and it was shrugged off as a joke by the head principal. Every time I saw that student, he threatened me. Nothing was done. WOW!!!!!

@@Ivrlan You are so right! Every time a student did something to me, I was called to the principal's office. That was so stupid that I called the NEA once to get the administrators off of my back, but that didn't last long. That only put a bigger target on my back! I was even sexually harassed by an administrator, reported it...and after several teachers and students reported him for the same thing, they just sent him to another high school. You have to remember that this the same school district that took a male student who had behavioral issues. This was in the early 90s I believe. When one high school couldn't handle him, the school sent him to another high school in our district where he raped and drowned a precious girl in the restroom!! I'm pissed just thinking about it!!!

@@taraslaszyn6974 Thank you for your concern. I decided that I would have to retire early on the school's disability program. Everything there just finally literally made me sick. I left 10 years ago. I think God sat me down because I had done my job by taking care of those students, academically and emotionally. I loved my job at one time. But, I would no longer encourage people to become teachers as I once did.

"You can take it big claims court, small claims court, tennis court, basketball court, come on man!" 🤣🤣She played a stupid game and won a stupid prize. And I love how these parents always claim that they weren't notified or told anything. Well if you don't answer your phone when the school calls or open your email/text you won't find out, will you? And now we're supposed to feel bad for his daughter? Maybe raise your child to not be a trouble maker.

The comment that senior pranks are done as a whole class is true. She went rogue and because she is a minor I guarantee you this is not the entire story. I would assume it was a death threat even if veiled the implication is teacher is dead. There is a process for expulsion from a district. The parents are informed they have time to write statements, submit mental health or medical documents that would explain behaviors are a direct result of any diagnoses, witnesses, etc. The parents are given all relevant information at the time of the five day suspension and CO hearing. The school has to provide documents, audio, or proof, establish a history of violent or disruptive behaviors that go back more than a year, they have to have documentation of all of the effort to support the student academically emotionally and behaviorally. There must be a paper trail of contact and/ or attempts to contact the parent or guardian. If there is no history of prior incidents then the incident has to be one of the four zero tolerance and automatic expulsions : Weapons, Drugs, Physical/ Sexual Assault ( or threats of either to individual or school.

Smh these videos need to be played in elementary, junior and high school. People think that just because their a "child" that life doesn't have consequences. There's a right and a wrong way to go about things apparently she took it to far and they took it further. That will be on her permanent record.

She's missed ALL of that and he wasn't informed that she was being punished!? 😒 He's not making sense. Sir... the fact that YOU are not aware of anything she's done is clearly not a starting point here. Also, never having done something wrong doesn't mean she can't and shouldn't be punished when she does (is caught doing) something wrong.
