This IS AN EXCELLENT 3 part series! Thank you! As another has commented, very easy to understand and contains the information we need to setup!

Been in the hobby since 1970 and I must say I am astounded at the advances in transmitter, electric motor and programming technology . It's a great time for NOOBs to be introduced to the hobby. Keep up the good work HH. Excellent video by the way.

Adjust the receiver subtrims to center the servo output arms/wheels first. Then adjust the linkages so that the control surfaces are centered. After you test fly the plane and you had to use the transmitter trims to make it fly straight, adjust the linkages so that you can put the trims back to center.

Love the AS3X technology 👍🏻 would be awesome if we could program SAFE select into the receiver as well 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃

To much stuff to do. I have a student who changed a servo in his Aeroscout. He needed to do forward programming to the AR636 receiver to reverse the steering and rudder servo. The Bluetooth programmer erased his model. Then horizon sent him a new receiver and it was supposed to be set up for his Aeroscout but the aileron to rudder mix was reversed with gyro on. I really hate this system. I can not find enough information about it to help him. I have watched the video series but I think I need to use a laptop and not my phone. I have to tap the control surface in the phone app many times and nothing happens. When it does work it very slow to respond. I am not happy. A print out of pages with which settings are used with each model should be available. And these settings should be correct. Because I don't think the Aeroscout down load is right. Or I'm just not doing it right. You should have fun flying not spending countless hours screwing around trying to make a rookie model fly again.

I'm just a beginner and have experienced this tech with my Carbon Cub S+ I have ordered the AR636 6-Channel AS3X receiver but didn't know the bluetooth dongle was an extra? for the receiver, anyway I have a DX6i TX dsmx, and I'm going to put the receiver into a FMS 1280, it's a bit like a Radian. Going to give it a go as a newbee. your video here has helped. correct me or inform me of anything I should know. Regards Tony or Australia PS I mainly fly hi end drones around Australia

Looking for a video where the model is held, rocked from side to side and the ailerons moving to compensate. All I can find is talk talk talk about programming. I want to see it working please.

Referring to a new eflight commander, why when just sitting still is the as3x making clattering noises? Is this normal? Thanks

One other question. What is your thoughts on using similar BNF model profiles with ARF setups?

Technically you can, but we would advise extreme caution. Be sure you can turn off the gyro in the event something unpredictable happens during flight.

What about the high and low rates in the tx? Do we leave them off and do all the adjusting in the app?

You can do one or the other... or both!

Also if we have rates programmed in the tx does it affect how the gyro responds?

  • @horizonhobby

Technically yes. For example, if you have expo in your TX it will change how the stick priority of AS3X responds.
