Every song lately sounds like Saturday night in the strip club parking lot. This Hopsin song might not make radio spins, but I highly appreciate the balance he provides to the culture. Rappers today never sound accountable. They're almost always medicated (insecure or to stay numb while they await death), getting head from someone else's chick (low values), with a pocket full of cash (irresponsible) and a strap nearby (reckless). Thanks to Hopsin for sharing his humanity and educating us.

I went through everything he described from cops at the door taking ur dad down to fighting yelling and throwing shit. That's exactly what I tried to do is go stay with friends but that wasn't always possible. When ur ten hearing that going on in your home it does stick with you. Lucky I've never treated my girl like that so hopefully I'm breaking that cycle. Thanks Hopsin and thanks to screw for reacting to that.

This hits really deep. There's a lot of kids that are born into households filled with violence or filled with regrets. The kids don't even have a choice. They have to live through this. It's really sad. Good song.

This song is so unapologetically raw and I can't imagine it was easy for him to make it, let alone put it out into the world. I'm blessed to have never experienced that kind of thing and to have never seen it even in the people close to me, nut I know it's real and out there. Mad praise to Hopsin for bringing his personal story out into the light and talking about the impact domestic abuse has on kids. EDIT: When you talked about how things like this are a cycle, it never hit me when I first listened to this song, but I immediately thought of "Way Down the Line" from The Offspring, which is all about that parent>child cycle but in a much broader sense.

This song, it’s so simple but it hits way too hard. The message “your child will become a product of the environment” is too real. I’ve seen some friends who grew up with this, who stayed at my house and talked to me about it. I’ve had to see my friend, my closest friend who’s like my brother, cry and question why this happens. Now that we’re nearly 23, he’s afraid of himself because he doesn’t want to become what his stepfather was. It seriously hurts but it’s a message that needs to be said. Love and respect to those who’ve lived this life and made it through, and for those who are still stuck, it may get worse before it gets any better.

Like to each their own, everybody has their opinions and preferences with music, it just has stood out to me. Scru will do it here and there with other artists, but not on every single song like with Hop.
