I have come to really be able to count on you speaking God’s truths consistently. It’s such a great free gift and blessing to my heart and soul and mind and spirit. This is the part of a new testament letter that I would just skim over. It's amazing how much rich theology is in these few verses. It is such a good reminder to not be distracted from our eternal hope. We have been grieving the death of our friend's baby, and it has been very difficult to process. I think being reminded to have a heaven perspective is helpful. This world is not our home, praise God!

Amen.. "What does the Bible say" ? "KEPT BY GOD", through Christ. We are in Christ, a literal member for eternity.. Mike, I applaud you for sticking to the scriptures w/o any extrabiblical influence. Trust that God says what He means & means what He says. He undoubtedly knew the end from the beginning, the prophets alone are mind blowing. It's much easier to use the golden rule of rightly dividing & matching up scripture with scripture, than to ignorantly insert our own educated guesses or worse spiritualize everything.. God is Perfect, Holy, Just, & unchanging, He's always in full control. He stands by His word & promises to both His chosen nation Israel, & the Body of Christ. The command to study, search, rightly divide, & share the word is for our benefit. It keeps us filled, safe, & content. As a friend of God we know what's to come. I for one know it's extremely hard at times, but we must hold on to God's word, never wavering, trusting that He can & will do exactly as He said He would. Content in this life, & perfected in the next.. Come Lord Jesus....

I heard this point before and I love it. It being “If Christ were to come down and you were seeking to know if your denomination was true then something is wrong”. You really think Jesus applauds each side in degrading one another on their faith. Just follow Jesus the way the truth and the life and he will set you free

Can we all agree God is the one who makes the initiative move? Philipians 1:29 Christ gives us the faith to believe in him but not just that but to suffer for him too. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus the author and consumption of the faith… he starts it he finishes it. Philipians 1:6 he who started the good work will finish it..1 Corinthians 1:26-31 verse 29 says why he (God ) chooses and is so no one exalts themselves.😊

Mike do you know when the scriptures are talking about the chosen one to rile with Christ and those that will be ruled over for a thousand years? in other words do you know the difference between the first resurrection who are Christ's body and those who will be raised for judgement?? Do you know who is ruling in the present heavens and what is to happen to those rulers? Revelation 20:5, 6 .This is the first resurrection. 6Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years.

21:35 is what churches in California need to remind Christians more of. I was am continually surprised that people think that being a Christian is about receiving monetary blessings and comfort. That is "churchianity" or "American Cultural Beliefs" about religion. So thanks for reminding us of that because that "prosperity gospel" becomes more and more offensive when you start losing Christian friends and family members to diseases such as cancer. The two following links are of Christian friends I have lost to cancer. One just after high school and one mid thirties. hugsfromshaun73.org/ kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZWuryZZvn6Taf8o.html

I am also sorry for your loss. Did they know Jesus? I too find the so-called "prosperity gospel" to be extremely offensive. It has ruined the faith of so many. It is the false "gospel" not only of the greedy and self-centered, but of the spiritually immature, short-sighted and temporal minded whose focus is on earth and not heaven. Fortunately, in my many years of experience, I have found that most California (and U.S. for that matter) churches aren't like that. Unfortunately, it is far more prevalent in churches in Asia, particularly Taiwan and the Philippines, of which I have first-hand knowledge. In fact, most native Filipinos won't even listen to a Bible teacher/evangelist, especially a fair-skinned one, unless they are promised health and wealth. So tragic.

The Greek word used for born, means begotten as a father begets children. It is not the word used for a woman giving birth. Sin separates us from God, spiritual death, therefore we must be begotten again of the Father, which can only happen through Christ, by faith believing what God said of His Son.

Mike, you said being 'born again' is not something man can do...but didn't God say.... "Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? ....and isn't that what was/is promised in the New Covenant? ...a new heart and a new spirit? Isn't the 'new birth' something that happens when man cooperates with God in what God is doing? Looks like there is something 'do' on man's part..? ...No?' Thank You Jim
