LOL! I imagine when Dan played Waylon Mercy in 1995, he imagined his opponents were Adrian Adonis hence why he was so viscous and brutal in the ring......

From all of the stories I've heard, Spivey was about on par with someone the likes of Haku as far as somebody you didn't want to piss off.

hogan talked about that fight briefly on some radio show and he said when the first punch connected it sounded like a gunshot going off

I remember reading about this in one of the old wrestling magazines. It said that Dan Spivey not only kicked and knocked Adrian Adonis out in the ring, but it spilled over in the locker room as well. It also said that Adrian threw a kick that Dan Spivey caught with his right hand and that Spivey hit him with a left handed uppercut that nearly destroyed his face! It dislocated his right jaw so bad that it was sticking out, split his lip down to his chin and broke the jawbone right down the middle and even knocked some teeth out. It's also easy to see that mentally, Adrian Adonis simply wasn't the same after that.

Danny Spivey is definitely someone NOT to be messed with! I have heard the same story about Adrian Adonis versus Dan Spivey and it always sounds the same. Adrian took a beating on that one. He NEVER took liberties with anyone ever again!

Undertaker himself laughed and said..Dan Spivey was the man..all I needed to hear. Also never heard a cross word said about him at all

I remember when spivey started as American star ship eagle in the nwa.

Bruce Prichard: "..I would put Spivey in the same category (legit badasses) as Haku...". That says a lot. Spivey must of been NO JOKE back in the day. Also, I thought the Waylon Mercy gimmick was pretty sweet and extremely too short lived.

Dynamite Kid smacked Honky Tonk Man right off his chair in the dressing room after Honky Tonk laughed about Harley Race havin a colostomy bag . Honky denies it up and down but several others who were there including Bret Hart insist it did indeed happen and Honky Tonk Man cried 😢.

trutg is probabky somewhere in the middke. wrestlers lie a lot. Dynamite was unstabke for sure though.

For those of you that don't remember it was the skyscrapers which was Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey as well as Waylon mercy which is also a big Dan Spivey yeah that dude was no joke he beat peoples asses back in the day

Oh yeah I remember Dan Spivey as a part of the Skyscrapers! Personally I thought the team got better when Mark Callous replaced Sid Vicious. By the way, Dan Spivey recently made an appearance on of all things Total Divas!

Spivey was an ex football player and a legit tough guy. Adonis had wrestling ability but he wasn't a fighter. Spivey's pro wrestling career wasn't much compared to Adonis but he definitely won the fight.

The quiet mellow guys are always the most dangerous ones. Never be afraid of a dog that barks as they never bite. Be afraid of the dog that stands there quietly looking straight in your eyes.
