The writers idea, she is a baby, but she doesnt have a baby's low intelligence. They did the CGI so they could have a baby who showed recognition and understanding in her eyes. It didnt end up looking good but it was the only way to be faithful to the source material.

Renesmee was literally the dumbest idea that Stephenie Meyer ever had. Not just the name, but the character herself. Of course the offspring of Bella Swan, the ultimate Mary Sue, has to be one of the most special babies ever to be born, whose very existence kicks up a shit load of fuss, and she one-ups her mother, who got married in her teens, by actually finding a man AT BIRTH.

I never really got how he fell in love with a BABY!!.thats creepy and weird and confusing. I mean is he suppose to like kiss the baby in front of her parent that happens to be his best friend which Jacob used to be in love with. And is he going to wait till she gets older so he can marry her or what. This freaking stupid I hate how they put the hotteist guy ever in the creepyeist role ever. I think I like the idea of someone pretending to be in love with someone actually loves that person better then the idea of a 22 year man being in love with a baby. Yes I.e. The hunger games might be made of things where you start to question Suzanne's mental health but it sure is better then Stephanie's messed up perverted nonsense... It sucked!!!

Jacob: Well, you remind me of your mother so much. The love I once had for her-- I feel that for you now. Renesmee: ... Jacob: ^_^ What?
