    "Because no teenager on their right mind would ever choose to be a f*cking farmer" - This. Now the question: How there are farmers if they let teenagers decide their career?

  • @Igorcastrochucre

    @Igorcastrochucre

    9 жыл бұрын

    There are five factions you must choose from, you can't change, you can't go back in your decision, you must choose between one cool but crude, one evil, stylish but truthful, three above-average and having none. Being a farmer in a society where they let TEENAGERS pick their destiny appears to be a huge leap of faith since even nowadays there are influences that show you should always get more, which apparently is the case in the other factions.

  • @Bayard1503

    @Bayard1503

    9 жыл бұрын

    Well, if the test shows that you are best suited to being a farmer than it takes a lot of guts to choose a different faction. What if they aren't good enough??? they risk being factionless.... excuse me, homeless and starving.

  • @Igorcastrochucre

    @Igorcastrochucre

    9 жыл бұрын

    You are lucky, because you are out-of-this-world fortunate to have found people who value such work. Because the teens I know would rather be factionless instead of being hard-working. And I just put emphasis on this phrase because it was funny when the narrator said.

    happy gilmore Yeah, the book was more realistic in that aspect. She didn't wear any at first and her first clothes as a Dauntless were of course black, but still kind of baggy and covering everything up; then Christina takes her shopping and forces some sexy clothes, tattoos and - lo and behold - some makeup on her, and she's quite surprised by how different it makes her look. So yeah, the movie totaly screwed that up and because the actress has such expressive big eyes, I was staring at her Mascara all the way through the movie.

    Idris The TARDIS The Hunger Games came out in 2008, Divergent came out in 2011. It doesn't matter that Veronica Roth had the idea in High School or that she didn't intentionally write a rip off, The Hunger Games were published first and, therefore, any YA book that has scarily similar features will be considered a rip off.

    In school, I was bored during free period, so I was looking through the books in one of the classrooms. I found Divergent and decided to pick it up and read it, as a few of my friends were fans of the series. I had seen the movie, but I hated it, I thought it was very poorly done, cheesy, and just bad in general, but I was hoping the books would be better. After nearly 10 pages in, I was so unbelievably bored and annoyed by the story. I'm up to page 100 because we're required to read during certain times in school, but it honestly is not good at all. The whole Divergent thing doesn't make any sense. Why would they be so scared of her? It's not like she has super powers, she just fits in with two personalities. Also, I'm pretty sure at least 80% of the world would be divergent if this is real, because no one fits into one specific type of person, everyone is different. There's nothing unique about this girl, everyone is just painfully boring and basic. Don't think the books are any better than the movie, they're just cliche teen fiction with unnecessary romance shoved into it to appeal to annoying teenage girls. The hunger games was a far better and more realistic story, and I recommend reading that, but stay away from Divergent unless you're a stereotypical teenage white girl. Sorry to offend anyone, but that's the honest truth. I don't think I've ever met anyone with an intelligent or creative mind who thought the books were good (a lot of my friends are like this, and they recently have really discovered how bad it was) and I'm sorry if you like the books, I really am, but it's the truth. It annoys me how teenage girls will blindly like a book series because it has a cute boy, a pretty girl, and cliche, predictable story line. And no, I'm not trying to be sexist, I know guys like the story, too, but it's mostly teenage girls.

    Guys, I'm making a YA book. Here's the plot. In a dystopian future, there exists a tower that all of humanity lives in. At the top are the rich, educated and government, while the vitro are the lower class. Two orphan brothers used to be in the middle class, but now are lower class. A revolt starts at the bottom, and the two brothers are sent to the top by their uncle, and must survive. What do y'all think?

    +Marvel fan Look, in this day and age there are a few things you need to make a hit movie: Is there an ordinary brown haired 18 year old girl who looks 14 and is actually the chosen one? Is there an oppressive ruler whom is evil but everyone but the main protagonist/their crew/their district like him? Is it is the future where you can get away with unbelievable science? Is there a love triangle with the female protagonist, and older competent man, and for lack of a better word an imbecile with a nice chin? Did the main protagonist get picked last for kickball one time? Is everyone in the movie attractive? Is there a 50-1 white person to any other ethnicity ratio? Have you made sure that there are little to no female or racial minority guards so that the movie doesn't have to worry about offending a minority? Is there enough "tech-wank" in your film? Elusive nudie shots?

    I think it sounds really interesting! Especially if you explore how they have to act when they're up there to not get cought (They're hiding where they come from from the rich, right?) and how the rebellion or whatever climbs up and how they react to that. That would be super interesting! Just make sure that even if you have to include something clishe-like it isn't a big vital part of the book. :)

    I for one prefer "The Hunger Games" movies but I have to keep it real: in a fight Tris could totally take Katniss. By the end of their first respective movies Tris is clearly tougher than Katniss. Tris becomes a true warrior in one movie while I have to wait until a third movie for Katniss. At least "Divergent" has that going for it.

    Tris is weak, she got her ass kicked numerous times and was constantly being saved by four. Katniss would definietly win, she's much stronger, and as for" waiting three movies to see her become a warrior", then what do you call the hunger games and catching fire? Im pretty sure she didnt sit on her ass all day waiting for someone to save her.

    Bianca Ieraci In terms of combat, all I've seen Katniss do is shoot arrows and hide. Tris learned how to shoot guns, throw knives and fight hand-to-hand. Sure she got beat up but she also instantly KO'ed people with forceful elbow strikes. She was definitely dangerous when she needed to be and didn't need to rely almost entirely on defense like Katniss does. Also, Peeta, Haymitch, and Finnick have all rescued Katniss at some point.
