But he matched the theme of the movie, had a personal connection with the hero (wich means betrayal, and who doesn't love a fictional betrayal) and a creepy presence. I mean, the whole scene when he takes the arc reactor from Tony always makes me uncomfortable.

2:15 Could you imagine if Iron Man had failed, what Superhero movies would be like now. RDJ saved the Superhero movie genre.

This is the best MCU movie ever. It's concise, precise, lean, elegant. There's no excess, no bloat, nothing to cut, nothing to add. The cast fit the characters. Soundtrack perfect. The closest a superhero movie got to art. I like all the MCU movies that followed, but none are flawless like this masterpiece.

Without this, there would be no MCU? We have a lot to thank John Favreau for.

Jon Favreau was the man with the vision for Iron Man (which has practically become the movie template for all the rest of MCU's cinema offerings!), and was the guy who decided to cast RDJ as Tony Stark. He is, in my opinion, the most under-appreciated movie genius in Hollywood today.

It was literally the theme of the movie 2 - Ivan Vanko used his own technology, inspired in the technology Howard Stark and Anton Vanko made. 3 - Ultron was a sequence of crazy events, hardly something to base statistics on

Pitch Ender It hurts me too, mang. After Earth's Mightiest Heroes I was super excited to see Hank Pym and Janet and their relationship with Ultron on the big screen to have a whole new group of people possibly be fans of them. What happened though? They give more shit to Tony because God knows he needs more development. Really bummed me out, almost didn't see Ant-Man because of it but it was pretty good... Happy to see a fellow fan, though

CrippledCamel I'm curious about that show. I have a friend who loved it, but the moment they had a polar bear in a tropcal island I was like "no. Nope. Sorry. Not enough suspension of disbelief exists for me to accept that. _Dogs_ have a hard time dealing with summer heat. Polar bears? In the _tropics_? I'll accept nerly anything - magic, talking racoons wielding guns, you name it. But this is asking a bit much."

Ice Tabloid lol Oh lord. As someone who has lived for over a decade in both the tropics and the north, I know just how hot (or cold) temperatures can get. The thought of polar bears being able to live in any capacity in a tropical island is just a bit much for me. But I _am_ curious about the story. I'm not knocking it for fans - I know that for a lot of people Lost is to them what Firefly and Dollhouse are to me, so I don't mean to insult. It just wasn't my kind of thing (which I was actually super disappointed about, actually, as that type of series is usually right up my alley)

I really liked Iron Man, but I feel like I'm the only one in the world who likes Iron Man 2 and 3.

wififan iron man 3 was kinda cool... I do kinda feel like it would be better if they had had more freedom, but since the (admit it, marvel targets teenagers) target audience is growing up post 9/11, they'd be screwed if they'd made 'Trevor' a cool villain.

Technically Iron Man is a bigger nerd than Superman, Batman and Spiderman, since he designed and built his entire armoury while they just made the most of what they had.

+Rory Snow i think most people have heard about him. i mean, the character has been around since 1963. it's just he was rather one of those B-list characters no one really gave a damn about or knew anything about until the movie.

riff5fki i'm 46 and had heard of him and knew the name tony stark, though i was never a fan. i read comics as a kid, but not like every single one of them, lol. well, if no one had ever heard of iron man, it is what it is, eh? :)

ryan barker I was 17 during this movie and not in america where superhero comicbook is available, so I've never heard about him. Even when playing games that has marvel character like spiderman games that features captain america, hulk, and such, still never saw or heard iron man.

Iron Man was known since the 60s .

My top favorite MCU movies. 1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Marvel's The Avengers 4. Iron Man 5 Captain America: The First Avenger Avengers: Age of Ultron was a good movie but it wasn't great in my taste.

***** I've only seen JP3 beforehand. frankly I think that put me in a perfect spot because it set the bar as low as possible - 3 looks like complete shit now by comparison and I definitely wouldn't have liked it all having seen any thing else before or after it. Then when I watch JP1 in its entirety it's going to top even that, without having gone into JW for the first time with its lofty standards in mind. that said I absolutely loved jurassic world, it blew my expectations away even after I already heard the reviews that it was rather good. the writing was great, the acting was good, the visuals/set design kicked ass, the action sequences were amazing (especially the ending scene, oh god, I have no words) basically it was everything I hoped for and well more. it had some serious flaws but, I won't dare complain seeing as this could have easily been such a lazy cashgrab like 3 was. I probably like it way more than I should but I'd give it a 9/10...

***** It's be awesome if they did it and after giving it a bunch of sns were like "but Chris Pratt was in it, so x number of sins off for that, and it resuted in the velociraptor meme, so x number of scenes off again, and hey - dinosaurs!" and ended up shinking the scenes down from like, 342 to 1 or something. xD

Watch this again recently and the Segway scene only just resonated with me

That segue to a Segway was spot on!
