He absolutely sells that line. This could have been an easy paycheck, but Curry brings it like he always did. He understood exactly what movie he was making.

@@cf-4233 Frankly, he is the only reason to watch the movie in the first place. Everything else is just a rehash of the first one, the only new thing is Kevin cheating on the hotel staff...and the "I love you" scene is just hillarious. But also the moment when he tells the mom than she shouldn't look for Kevin in the streets.

I’ve watched all 6.. 3 is good, 4 is mediocre at best, 5 is decent and 6.. wasn’t horrible but isn’t much better than 4. My biggest complaint was recreating many stunts from the first movie

Kevin’s behavior makes an absolute nightmare amount of sense when you think about how traumatized a child would be if they were accidentally abandoned not once, *but twice* on a major holiday and *both times* was forced to fight for their survival against two full grown adults

That transition from Grinch to Tim Curry is one of the best editing moments in movie history.
3:31 Just realizing that a staff at a major luxury hotel thinks they're getting shot at but no one calls the police afterwards 😂
After living in almost constant isolation for 2 years I can totally relate to Kevin talking to himself and commenting on everything out loud all the time 🙈

I worked at AMC theaters when this &Aladdin was out. I'd sneek in to watch for a few every time it was playing. The crowd reactions to the death trap scenes were golden!!!
There's a fan theory that Harry and Marv and are actually in Hell and Kevin is the demon in charge of torturing them. Seems plausible
The "potentially get shot on 5th Avenue" line is masterful.

I can actually live with HA 1&2 but except the 3rd one. The 3rd one wasn’t bad if people wouldn’t have been lured into watching it with the Home alone name on it

@@GLBizzie I only made it about ten minutes into the third one - the kid's cutesy voice was so grating that I couldn't listen to it anymore!
This one always felt more fun than the first, which I assume is because they figured out that everyone loved the slapstick murder so much from the first one that they needed to spread more of that through the rest of the movie instead of holding it all for the final act.

You talking about how Harry and Marv are dead made me remember the Honest Action series you guys did, looking at what would actually happen to characters, and how many of them would actually be dead multiple times over. I miss Honest Action. I want it to come back.

The real great achievement of this movie was getting Joe Pesci to play a bad guy without cursing.

That's why they had to cast him in both Goodfellas and Casino, in order to balance the scales.
Joe Pesci was in such brilliant comedic form and I like that his talent was introduced to a whole new generation who hadn’t seen more of his work.

Pesci and Stern are both deeply unappreciated for their tour de force comedic performances in these films. Slapstick never gets respect, but the films wouldn't work without the wonderful way they express the cartoonish levels of pain Harry and Marv are subjected to.

When this came out it was the first time I seen Joe Pesci in a movie.
I legitimately laughed at the burglers deaths sequence, like i never laughed in years... god i miss this films from time to time, haven't watched for a while :D
Still one of my favorite Christmas movies. It really hits for me since I grew up in the NYC area and I have fond memories of the tree almost every year at Rockefeller Center. Oh and my friend called this movie "Home Alone: The Death Gauntlet" and I totally agree with it.

I think the OG ‘Home Alone’ Movies are so beautifully made that it added to the silliness that could easily make it crass. It was a nice balance. Also, the aesthetic is unparalleled. P.S. Catherine O’Hara is an icon, a legend and she is the moment.

I never realized how absolutely stacked the casts were on the first 2 movies when I was younger.

The skeleton bit gets me every time.
The transition from the Grinch to Tim Curry always makes me feel like we missed out on something.
This is easily one of my favourite movies from my childhood and it still lives up till this day. I rewatch Home Alone 1&2 every Christmas holiday.

Holy crap, thanks for reminding me that this movie came out 30 years ago. I watched it in theaters when I was 6, along with the Mighty Ducks the same day lol
The time y’all analyzed how many Marvs and Harry it would take for the movie to happen is a video I watch when I’m depressed and leaves me in stitches
Honestly, if Kevin had somehow gotten a 3rd movie with Harry and Marv, it would have _begun_ with them getting a spring-loaded metal bat to the throat. The rest of the movie would be the McCallister adults on trial for serial child neglect and whatever charge is laid on you if your child murders 2 people with a Rube Goldberg machine.

@@shannonardo A few years ago Screen Junkies did a series called Honest Action, where they look at movies and see the injuries and ways characters would have died if it was realistic. One of them was Home Alone 1+2 and in it, they said Marv would have died 5 times from the bricks to the head, which is where the "Skull Fracture with Epidermal Hematoma" bit comes from. I think the videos are still on the channel.
Haha. Life & Adventures of Santa Claus is one of my favorites. Bought the DVD.
One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time
I liked this movie better than the 1st Home Alone. Kevin's traps on the criminals were much better. It was also pretty cool to see Kevin living independently at the New York hotel and throughout Manhattan like a grown-up would.

Still cracks me up when Marv goes to a skeleton when shocked.
When I was like 12, I read the novelization and I think I remember it starting with Harry and Marv having a nightmare of breaking back in after the first movie and Kevin killing them with the garage door 😳
I laughed so hard remembering the insanity of this film. Kevin definitely killed the bandits many times over. Priceless.

It really fun to watch the first 2 Home Alone's with kids. I watched it with my nephews, and they love the slap stick humor.

The way Kevin spends Christmas day in the first two home alone movies is how I think I'll have to spend Christmas day from now on and I've had to spend it like that for the last 10 years. Edit:I'm probably have to spend Christmas like this from now on.

Crazy how Joe Pesci did both Goodfellas and Home Alone in 1990. (And then later Home Alone 2 and Casino). Glad he didn't mix the roles up. LOL

Home Alone 2 one of my top xmas movies. More than the first
You missed a couple of deaths: one where Harry gets launched into the air and lands on a car, and one where Marv gets crushed by a bookshelf full of paint cans.
I laughed quite a bit cause of this. Nicely done. X3
It will always get me when Fuller hears that Kevin might have to sleep on the third floor, takes a sip of his Pepsi, and with a knowing gleam in his eye says, "Yeah, with me." Like he's loading up on fluids and gets some kind of joy out of knowing Kevin will have to deal with him pissing the bed. Even subtleties like that in this film are sadistic wtf 🤣
It's a holiday classic in Poland I mean few years back some national cable station decided not to show it during holiday season and people almost riotted xD
Finally took years for a honest trailer for this sequel. Can't wait for ya do one for "Home Alone 3".

The bricks. Getting hit in the head with a brick lobbed from a ten story roof is like the Jumping the Grand Canyon on a motorcycle of Slapstick.
