There was no Kung Fu masters in movies in the 80s. Jackie Chan had 2 movies the Protector and Big Brawl both were box office bombs. The other 2 were Cannibal Run which was ensemble casts and Jackie Chan had maybe 10 mins of screen time. His first box office success was Rumble in the Bronx which came out in 1995. Bruce Lee was dead by the 1980s. So the 80s had no real Kung Fu movies, all the real 80s Kung Fu movies were all Hong Kong movies that were only later dubbed after the success of Rumble in the Bronx.

It alludes to Bruce kinda shutting things down if he dislikes the tone of a film. In other words, look at most of his film busts and see the experiences he had. THAT SAID, Bruce was probably right most of the time. This Honest Trailer was made YEARS before he contracted his debilitating condition, so relax!

I agree this is one of his best and also the angel in Dogma, I thought he was good in the Potter films, but that felt kid like, playing a role for kids which it was and I wasn't, so didn't resonate with me at age 27 at the time

+Fearl in the first book of Legend of Korra there was that stupid love triangle thing and it was absolutely awful, however in the following seasons they did a better job handling character interactions culminating in a pretty goddamn epic battle and an understated walk into the proverbial sunset for our titular character and her love interest. They started off terrible but improvements were made and you can't have a really great story without well thought out, developed characters anyways. I'd rather they screwed up trying hard than just wimp out and half ass the character development.

***** sure. Well done teenage drama, but it isn't good for the story. The first two seasons of Korra had 24 episodes and at least four or five of them were dedicated to who kissed who, blah blah blah. It would have worked better if they didn't pause whatever was happening to focus on it. It distracted from the plot and slowed the pacing down. When a shows two main issues are subtlety and pacing, then I have issues with teenage drama that takes up 20% of the first two seasons. If that's your thing, more power to you. It just isn't mine.

A shame we still don't have an Honest Trailer for Commando. A real shame.

The one exchange in the movie I dislike is when the lobby security guard makes McClane use the computer to find a name, THEN tells him "Yeah, other than the 30th floor, the building is empty." ...then why did you make him use the computer?!? With the exception of this exchange, perfect movie!!!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has almost convinced me to watch this movie just so I'll understand all the references.

Every single menu in restaurants always is full of mistakes on the "German" pages. And that's in times of the internet. A friend of mine opened a restaurant on Mallorca, had the menu translated by a "professional" and when I checked it it still had tons of mistakes.

Gabe Sloan Actually Alan Rickman didn't say "shoot the glass" in German. He said "shees das fenster" which means "shoot the window". Glass in German is "glas" or "gluess", depending on dialect.

literally one of the best action films ever made..

"Die hard in a building" I don`t know if anyone pointed that out, but when the movie first came in Poland the title was translated to "The glass trap" (according to the building. The name stuck to the franchise and up to Die Hard 5 you can see the title of the movie that has nothing to do with the movie itself :D It became a kind of a running joke about movie title translations. So... Are there any other weird translations of this movie title, my fellow youtubers? :)

When I first saw the trailer for this as a kid, I thought it looked stupid. I was like "ha ha ha how's the moonlighting guy going to be a super hero. He's no Rambo." Hey, we all get to be wrong once in life. This is still like one of the biggest surprises ever. I really thought he was miscast.

Well, he was right. He didn't rip much on Die Hard.

I don't think any of these Honest Trailer videos has made me smile like this one. Nice to be reminded it's fun to celebrate good movies, not just rag on bad ones.

I watch this movie every winter (Christmas), have been doing that for the last 27 years... BTW, this honest trailer is downright perfection.

At the time of watching this great honest trailer 28 people have hit the dislike button. So, this we know 28 people got coal in their stockings for Christmas!

I just watched Predator (1987) for the first time a couple of weeks ago.. absolutely loved it. Now im on an old school action movie binge. this one is definetly on the list

I've been saying this is the best Christmas movie my whole life. I seriously watch it every Christmas Eve.

You should try doing Honest Music Trailers, one for Individual albums and another for artists. If you do that try doing Nickelback, Green Day, Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, and One Direction for bands. And Abbey Road, Nevermind, Spiderland, Thriller, Bangerz and St.Anger for albums.
