Life is like a box of chocolates - In the beginning it's full of possibility, but as time goes on and it gets emptier and emptier, you begin to realize that soon you'll be forced to eat that nasty one that tastes like chocolate covered toothpaste and then you'll have nothing left but your fast fading memories as your life becomes an ever deepening inky abyss of sorrow and despair.

Elicynderspyro It wouldn't work. Bitter childhoods color the way you perceive life from then on. If you experienced all of your life's bitterness in the beginning, you'd never really be able to enjoy the rest because you'd be conditioned to expect your happiness to end and would whittle away your time waiting for the sword to fall.
Even as a kid watching this I thought the way Jenny treated Forrest was like crap. That being said, I was awed by the leg brace breaking scene. So iconic.

My older brother has autism and this is one of his personal favorite movies because he relates to Forrest Gump in so many ways. He's been called stupid more times than he can count, he takes sarcasm seriously, is very faithful to anyone and everyone, has a big heart, and is an extreme romantic. I am glad that there is a movie like Forrest Gump out there for someone like my brother. It makes him proud to have autism and gives him hope that despite his disability, he can make a difference in the world.

I've worked with Autistic kids in the past, and it's an incredible, misunderstood issue today. He doesn't need to feel like he has a disability though. I know a family that has a kid with autism, and if you met him today, you wouldn't know he had it. They did a great job of not allowing the disorder to be an excuse for him not to be a contributor. And now he's a very cool kid.

I agree. And despite the recognition and wealth he gained, he could never be truly happy because he always had a huge insecurity for being "stupid." When Jenny tells him the child is his, the first question he asks is whether the child is smart. Self-esteem is necessary for happiness, but Forrest Gump never had self-esteem because people saw him as "stupid."

Channel Blaino ikr XD I mean they were scratching the bottom of the barrel with Fight Club. And as much as I absolutely adore Fight Club, I find there's less... as Honest Trailer's like to say it, "mistakes", in Shawshank Redemption.
Really amazing. Took me 10 years to know that he was a mental handicap. In Brazil the voice over actors make him looks like a silly guy. So a lot of his actions didn't make sense to me. After watching it with original audio in 2004 everything became clear, was the most clarifying moment in my life.

What are some of the particular problems that the main protagonists face, and how do they encounter and resolve them?
I don't care I still nearly ( nearly I'm sayin) started crying just from this honest trailer. Well... the first half anyway. It got way too spot on and funny after that.

I love all Honest Trailers but this might be the cream of the crop. The end with Lt. Dan was f-ing brilliant. Usain Dolt! Bubba Booey! The whole damn thing was brilliant, though, start to finish. I'm gonna' watch it again!

In Forrest Gump, Sally Field is the actress who plays Forrest's mom. She wore prosthetic make-up in the film to make her look like an old lady back then. But now it's 20 years later and she actually does look like an old lady so the narrator said "Sally Field now" when they showed her :)
