If you have a moment.... with the inbuilt interval timer: is it the same as previous Sony cameras where it only autofocuses for the first shutter release, with no option to (re)autofocus for each next frame? Thanks

Just purchased my A7s III and I love it! I almost always have the ISO at either 640 (during the day) or 12,800 at night time and the footage is almost never noisy! It's truly a remarkable camera :)

I was wondering, does the digital stabilization work with photos too? For context, I actually want the crop for the sigma dc dn apsc lenses fingers crossed the A7IV has this..

Do you find the autofocus to be a advantage over the A73.

Does the A7S 3 has bluetooth/wifi connectivity?

The video color and feeling we get is very similar to A7Ⅲ and just added little 3D looking taste to it. That's added CG look is not too cinematic for me but I am sure Sony has improved a lot. I would like to still wait for A7Ⅳ they might come with more resolution like oversampling from 6K and 4K 60fps and much lower than this price etc.

A7 III was released in February 2018 over 2,5 years ago and you can still recommend it despite technology upgrades in other cameras. It only shows how way ahead of competition Sony was with A7 III back then.

Hey, while video shooting, do we need an external monitor on a7siii or its articulating screen itself can fulfill the purpose? Thanks

Canon RP. Full frame for cheap price. But if you really be a pro, start with some DSLR like Canon 5D. It's cheaper, but have all what you need.

I've been trying to find out for ages and finally I just have to ask - what is that little orange and black disc that people have tied to their cameras? I thought it was a Sony thing but I've just seen it in some canon videos too!

@@cinialvespow1054 & with A7SIII these quick release tabs dont make dangling noise anymore because the strap rings have tighter grasp on the body

this would pair perfectly with my low resolution Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95

I don't even shoot, still watching the review, now i see everyone review a7Siii.

I have all 3 cameras you spoke of. I can see noise but not resolution and can’t tell the difference. I am a night shooter and love the high iso of the siii. Get a good computer with a riv or v. the noise on my a7riv is not good at night even at 10k

am a portrait photographer. i dont do weddings but sometimes couple shoots. also like to shoot short films. if this was at least 20mpx i wouldn't think twice but am not sure if i can use this camera for portrait work.

I'm basically in the exact same boat as you. The 12mp is also my only concern. I feel like for portraits it won't be a problem. I don't really crop most of my photos, especially not my portraits. As for max print size at x dpi, I have tested this for myself in person. I drew out on large paper the max print size of 24mp and 12mp at 300ppi, and while the 24mp is larger, it didn't feel like a worlds difference, Like you're still not printing a wall or anything larger than a0 on them at 300ppi. I want it so bad, the video is so much more cinema camera! And that would help a lot with my filmmaking and music video efforts. Especially the 10bit colour allowing for more room to play. The ergonomic improvements like the EVF being double the resolution of the SECOND BEST, are amazing. The bigger body and the metal exposure wheels instead of the little plastic ones also look great. I think I'll end up buying it, shooting it a lot and trying to see if 12mp is a problem for me or not, if so I'd have to send it back with a frown on my face :( God Speed with your films :)

problem is sony dosen't have much reason to release the 4 right now, the a7iii is more than enough for most people and is still difficult to compete with. and for photo only nerds they have the riv

I really want to get this camera but as a hybrid shooter that 12 megapickles is such constraint. Great camera for video but not so much for photos (which is expected so no harm there), I just don't like how a lot of youtubers are downplaying the low mp for photos and saying "you don't need to worry about mp when taking photos" or it's "good enough" because it isn't. a $3400 camera with 12mp is not good enough for photos (this camera isnt made for photos) so just tell it how it is. The a7sIII is exceptional at videos but it isn't great or even good enough for photos at that price. When a lot of youtubers say similar things like this, it makes me question if they have alternative motives. Great for video, bad for photos. As a hybrid shooter, I'm still sold on it. It doesnt seem like I'm trying to steer photographers to this product when it's not for them. Just my two cents :)

​@@Pierretlambert Mainly when it comes to editing. You have a lot more flexibility in the details with a higher mp count. Plus, when you take into account the price, 12mp isn't good enough but again this isn't a photo camera so it doesn't really matter. I'm hoping most of the a7siii's features are carried over to the a7iv when ever they release that, probably right before the next pandemic happens. haha

@@houseofintent yeah hoping a7iv is similar too. Tbh for editing 12MP are great because those have a lot more info than the higher MP. Why? Because each pixel is bigger on the sensor. So I end up having more dynamic range to edit. Now if you want to crop yes it's not a good resolution to start with :)

@@cinialvespow1054 there is slight better camera quality on the a7III for photos because of the larger pixels. But the a7siii is perfect for what most people take photos for.

@@Micah-Woods I think you mean the other way around :) I'm used to shooting on an a7iii, I wonder though if maybe I shouldn't go for the new S 3 as im interested in a hybrid camera, at this point I can only really have one camera. The a7iii has more resolution, which is supposedly better for photos like for cropping and printing, though I don't crop almost at all. I feel like the a7iii may only be marginally be better in photo due to the larger resolution, so with the a7siii I could have same if not greater photo quality with better autofocus and longer bursts, but also with much more cinema camera like video. That's attractive. though the price difference is double. a7iii hovers around like 1650 - 1750 currency rn, while the s is meant to be like 3500? tough decision.

I have a zv1 , a7iii and Bmpcc 6k. I wanted to maybe add the a7siii but the video looks videoish like my a7iii. It’s a good camera but the 6k and 4k black magic just looks different in a better way , more cinematic

what do you think contributes to it looking 'videoish' ? Have you seen some other reviews, In that british blokes review it looked very cinema camera independent of this camera tho, what do you think makes a shot look videoish vs filmic? It's an interesting question imo

Honestly, this looks so much better than Red and Arri cameras and anything film-based. If you want this to look "analog", tape a magnifying glass to the lens. Instant crap, as muddy as you film-heads love it. Seriously, use this as a base and then come up with a crappy lens to muddy it up. Now you've got that look you love.

Th3 night shotw legit look better than basic holywood movies. Wow also think about this camera as a replacement for artificial lights! Natural ligh all way and a nice cinema look! This really makes this a good value option if you dont have to rent or buy lights
