please don't change anything, to suit some comments, like you say it's about the journey to get things done not a honda technical bulletin. I applaud your honesty and tenacity, you show everything warts and all, no over the top bravado, I can leave the sound up as there is no shouting, balling and swearing,, just an ordinary guy like the rest of us, and most of all THANKS for taking the time to share

I have been watching your back catalogue during the lockdown. I attended motor vehicle engineering college, and was a mechanic in the armed forces UK. I love your content, the way you do things without a manual, discovering yourself is inspiring. Keep doing things your own way. I would think twice about splitting a bike casing and tackling a broken gear. Love watching you work. Keep it up!

Mustie1, I’ve been doing my own wrenching for over 40 years. I’ll be 54 this month and I have learned a valuable lesson from watching your videos. I have learned that this old dog is not to old to learn new tricks........I’ve told you this before, but you truly do have the GIFT OF TEACHING. I have called upon many of your videos to help me out whilst I am working on a project. Keep the videos coming my brother!

Your critics just don't get it even though you told all of us as clear as crystal...."They're not how to videos, I'm just wrenchin' in the garage learning how things work and how to fix them along with you guys" Keep 'em coming Mustie.....your way is so much more fun, informative and entertaining than half the "how to" videos on here! lol Dan.

I am the most easily frustrated, easily irritated, temper-losing mechanic wannabe, the absolute polar opposite of Mr. Mustie1. That said, I am having a bracelet made for myself with these four letters..."WWMD" which stand for "What Would Mustie Do?" That way I can glance down and reflect on this set of videos. As way of a compliment, I wish to one day be able to stand in your shoes, to have your intelligence, tenacity and failure to quit. I sincerely and humbly thank you for being such an inspiration.

Looking forward to the results of the fruits of your labor just as you are . I know your in it for the pure enjoyment and have no problem commenting on your own work but all in all you do a fine job . If something doesn't work , it probably wasn't going to from the start . Your a no nonsense straight up guy who is honest from the start . I'm sure that is why many view and subscribe as well as the interest in your find and fix thing. I know I appreciate it and do a little find and fix myself so your channel has got my interest and my subscribe . Take your time , enjoy because I know it will work again . You installed good parts made back when original parts were good quality and replacement parts today are questionable . I just got a good feeling about this rebuild . Thanks for a great series . Will be looking forward to great results but just enjoy it . I know that's why you do it .

Being an old air cooled VW and Harley guy, I was always taught to put the rings on the piston, then slowly by hand slide one ring at a time into the cylinder, leaving enough room to install the piston pin and keepers, keeping it simple!

Good info, as I’m literally doing the same thing....and by literally I mean the exact same repair on the exact same year/model bike. It was given to me by someone who was tired of moving it around their shop. It has low miles and is 100% complete but was in storage for 40 years and the motor was stuck from sitting. Cylinder can be honed, but the piston had a stuck ring(really seemed more like fused) and sadly was damaged as I tried(unsuccessfully) to remove the stuck ring. So, I got a new piston and rings for it. Reassembling now...so this video is on the money for me.

Wow, you are a walking talking workshop Manual, its a good job I'm retired as I find myself watching hours and hours of your videos. The motor bike I passed my test a was on a 2nd world war dispatch riders Royal Enfield with a 350cc engine (happy days) this would be in 1959. I'm 83 years old and living all my life in England and the last motorbike I owned was a Honda 125cc and the best bike I ever had the only thing that failed was the coil or condenser (whatever) underneath the petrol tank as this used to get wet when it was raining and short out. My wife no longer fancies riding pillion any longer, so sadly its' driving around in a car, but my first love after my wife are motor bike bikes. May your channel go from success to success.
