i rewatch this video all the time as a refresher before i change my oil

I remember watching this years ago when I first bought my ruckus. Best ruckus/scooter videos on youtube. Thanks again. If I'm ever out your way we need to rip around!

Great video and great videos Mitch! Just letting everybody know out there if you have a 2019 or or newer Honda ruckus, when checking the oil level, you do Not screw the dipstick in. Simply clean the dipstick off, insert it till the threads seat, and pull it back out.

I was going to say that too....you’ll end up a little low overall screwing it in. All Hondas (to my knowledge) the procedure is the same, you just set the dipstick back in the fill hole on the threads, then pull out and check the level. I worked at a Honda dealership (in the service dept) for quite a few years back in Indiana.

I just sent my dipstick as well to check the oil, that is without screwing it in. Seems though that one side of the stick is lower than the other. Angle of dipstick in motor I'm sure, but still, what to believe?

The fact you went into detail as far as amount of torque for each bolt amazes me. While I probably wont beable to use that info it's really comforting knowing that someone is helping out like you are

Best Rukus Channel on the Internet for Maintenance. Especially love using proper torque & the camera work expertly showing exact placement. Thanks Mitch, you are my Go To & my personal Father & Son retirement hobby is restoring American Muscle cars then showing & reselling, Have built a couple or 3 drag cars & bikes just for fun. BTW - my 2022 Rukus heavy mods without an engine change is a 2022 cruises at 40mph normal top speed 45/46mph stage 1. The Ruck is my daily around town errand bike.

I liked the video, recently got a ruckus and looked up how to do the oil change. Captions are perfect. Thank you.

I don't have Ruckus however I just got a Nss250 Reflex. Its been sitting for 10yrs, I'm in the process of bringing it back to life. Anyway I enjoy your videos, they are very helpful!

I went into a repair shop in Vancouver to inquire about them doing oil change in my 2015 Ruckas. Their shop rate is now $180 per hour! Be looking at over 200 buckeroos for this simple oil change. After watching this video I went to the walmert and bot oil and a funnel for less $10. Thanks Mitch

Aye don’t screw in the engine-oil dipstick when checking levels. Just goin by the manual maybe it’s different for other production years mine is a 2019. However I have a comprehensive service manual for the NPS50Ruckus 2003- present that they give to Honda Technicians to do all service and assembly.. and this service manual also says not to screw in the dipstick when checking oil level, just seat the stick in the threads for a second and then remove to check.

Love your style. I did everything with the same tools you suggested but was having issues with the torque wrench, fitting it with the hose in the way. I tightened the oil screen bolt with the wrench as tight as I could. You think this will be okay?

My manual specified to use API 10W-30 oil except resource conserving. Clearly I bought resource conserving oil and changed the oil before I realized this! Should I changed it again to one without that label?

I can’t fit a torque wrench on the bolt for the oil screen :/ if I take off the exhaust bolts and slide it what torque do I need to re tighten the exhaust bolts 2? I tried everything to get a torque on that bolt and the exhaust pipe is in the way
