I went from another video of a guy doing this it was all wrong he was unhooking hoses and every second comment was someone saying they followed method and got air into the lines and now their ruckus over heats so coming from that video to this one is a world of difference ahahaha

Great vid but I’ll say one thing; Honda recommends Pro Honda HP COOLANT. It is extremely high quality and will be better over time.
Nice video except the part with the cylinder screw. It drained out when I added the coolant. So first cylinder screw and then coolant. Good job 👍🏼

Picked up a 16 Ruckus last week, spent a week trying to get rid of the bog and succeeded. Been watching your Ruckus vids. Fantastic Job Man!!👍👍
Mitch you are awesome. Thank you for putting these videos out and literally teaching me and countless other people how to maintain our bikes
Hi Mitch, first- you have a knack for this. Exceptional, clear ,concise and not even any verbiage. Too often you see videos where the video becomes more about the narrator and less about what is in the video ( IE- more about their own ego). Not the case here and can't even think of a single point to improve it. Well Done and kudos.
Dude, your videos are the absolute best, and I hope Honda (or some other manufacturer or parts provider) is sponsoring you by now. The instructions couldn't be any clearer, the video editing and camera work is absolutely spot on, and you make these repairs seem completely possible for all skill levels, likely saving us a bunch of money in the process and extending the life and safety of our Rucks. Much respect, and I hope you have a baller summer, even if we're all bloody quarantining right now :P
You deserve a KZread Oscar for best instructional videos by a person with a heart of gold! Thanks fromus all! Jeff.

Just changed the the coolant now a week into owning it I have a new air filter coming this Friday. And I guess I just need gear oil to have completed all the maintenance. I have put 3 km on it
Really good, easy to follow videos. Quality Stuff!

I paid a shop 425.00 to put either a new or rebuilt carb on my sons ruckus. It started right up when I picked it up but when I got it home while it would start up in sputtered when trying to accelerate. Like it wasn't getting enough gas or maybe an air problem? This guy has his shop at this house and it took 6 months to get it back the first time. Don't want to try that again. Anything I can try to correct the problem? Thanks -Arkansas Bob

This was a super helpful video! Only thing I️ noticed when following it during my coolant change is that the cylinder drain bolt needs to be put back in place before you refill with new coolant. If not, the coolant fills to that level and just drains onto the floor. Keep up the awesome videos!

Mitches Honda ruckus maintenance
Thanks for the video! Do you know if the process would be similar for a Zuma 50cc?
Do you have a video on how to drain the gas from a Ruckus? I bought one that definitely has old gas in it. Do you think I could suck the majority out of the fill port with a pump, or is there a drain somewhere? Also your videos are seriously going to help me down the road. Thank you!
Great video! Really helpful One question though, in the video you refill the coolant then, re screw the drain bolt. I followed the instructions but when I tried to pour in the coolant before I re screwed the cylinder drain bolt the coolant just spilled out. I had to put the drain bolt back first, then refill the coolant. Is the process different for different models?
Hi! I saw also on your channel changing the coolant to a vespa. And you were taking the air out. Here why not?
Hi Mitch, All your videos are really creative and simple. good job and keep it up! i bought a Ruckus and did not modified it at all, my issue is, when i drive it 40KMP speed for about 4-5 minutes the engine light blinks for 3times pause and again it blinks, then the bike speed reduces automatically.also some water drops comes out from the air cleaner box. can you kindly help me on this. Thanks in advance UJ

Does it matter what anitfreezer you use to make the 50/50 blend? I have the Prestone brand. Many are saying just stick to honda 50/50 antifreezer but it's more expensive and I already have coolant in my garage.

Welcome to my channel! Thanks for the nice comment! Distilled water 50/50 mix with coolant if the coolant bottle say “need to mix” but some coolant are 50/50 already so no water need to add
If it's 50/50 can I pore the same stuff into both.
Where u buy your socket set?
Thanks! So if I have the coolant that you suggested off Amazon, I don’t need to mix with water m, correct?

Coolant came out of my drain cylinder while I was pouring new coolant in? I had to put it on half way then continue filling the radiator. Hopefully I don’t run hot now from a bubble. I think there’s no bubbles because it was pouring out as I put the cylinder bolt in.
@creaky2436
5 жыл бұрын
And I didn’t have to pour any extra in reserve tank and radiator tank. It was still full after I ran and revved it for about 5 minutes. It was at the same level. So I left it hoping there is no air bubble. It’s really cold right now so I don’t think I could even tell until summer comes around
Hey Mitch, thanks for this really helpful video! Quick question! After you started and let the bike idle after adding the new coolant in, did you top up the radiator with straight coolant or what that more of the 50/50 mix that you added in the first time? Thanks!
@wilhelmdahlberg1443

Hi, friend: please clarify a doubt, after changing the coolant or antifreeze. Should I purge the air that is trapped inside the radiator? or in this type of motorcycles it is not necessary? How is the air purging done? Thanks for your help! Greetings from Bolivia, South America.
@TheGunterGlieben
Жыл бұрын
Yes you should remove trapped air. I drained the coolant and refilled with new. After a short ride the red coolant temp light came on. Removed the rad cap and topped up the fluid, on the kickstand, I ran the engine (rad cap still off), for a few minutes blipping the throttle. After a bit air bubbles became visible while revving engine. Continued blipping the throttle until air bubbles stopped. Air purged. Good to go. Problem solved.

OK, I had an issue while doing this change, so can someone please tell me what I did wrong? In the video, he puts new coolant in *before* he puts the bolt on the left of the bike back in, but when I put the new coolant in, some of the new coolant started draining out of that open bolt slot, forcing me to replace the bolt and then continue topping up the main coolant tank. I then topped up the reserve tank, and I think all is well, but I wanted to check with y'all, in case doing it in the order I did would somehow trap air, or something. How did Mitch's coolant not spill out of the open bolt when mine did?...
