Well hello Bruce me old Mucker.. yeah it's a common problem..

Hi mick. You have done this repair properly but I have done this several times successfully by simply applying black bathroom silicone sealant to the cleaned area. It forms a seal just the same and because it remains flexible when dry it doesn’t affect the governors function at all. Just make sure the area is clean and then put a blob in the place where the oil seal would go and clean the excess off with you finger, let it dry overnight and job done.

Let us know if you can, as I tried and the space wasn’t there to fit one on my particular Honda gcv engine.

Nice work. I have a few Honda’s that have been sitting with various issues. I will check this on each. I also have Bruce’s Shop Honda video on the self propelled rear wheels will not let it roll backwards to tackle.

Hi Mick I tried this but couldn’t do it, it was the right seal but the engine casing never had the space for an oil seal. Perhaps it was an older engine. Good job 🙂👍

@@themowerman Why? when I can get advise from the best mower mechanic on KZread, myself 😂😂 I remember it was a gcv135 on a 1999 Honda eco, that just had a hole through the casing nothing else, so no way could a seal be fitted, you’ll probably get comments on this video in the future saying that. You have to wonder why Honda have the space but no seal🤔 doesn’t make sense.

You can still use e95.. or you can pick up some aspin fuel

@@themowerman we had a gen set where someone had "adjusted" the governor drove us nuts till we realized what was wrong.

Did you replace the oil seal or is this just a fix to stop the leak?. Are you not afraid of dropping something on your toes, I notice you are always wearing open toe sandals. Safety first.

They don't come with oil seals.. so it's something you add to stop the leak.. oh I have always worn sliders..
