I love the Chaly! I only just realized the here in the USA (we never got the Chaly), the Honda Express SR is basically a Chaly, but with thinner, three spoke wheels and a CVT scooter engine. The frames are the same, so CT70 forks, right side rear shock, fenders, wheels/brakes, and engine (70, 90, 110, etc) could be swapped over. Hoping to find a decent Express SR now :) Great project!

what did you weld the backing plate with 5356????

Hi, sorry for delay, having a comments catch up day, i used 4043 although 5356 would have been fine. 4043 tends to cope with the crap in the old contaminated casting better and still gives a good looking weld, also what i repaired was non structural so apperance and workabily was higher on my list 👍 cheers all the best....
