Cataclysm still holds the best story, and probably will do after HW3 release. Barking Dog devs had more love for Homeworld, than Homeworld's creators.

This is the Science Fiction that gives me life. The kinds of stories that are more than just techno jargon. Stories about love, life, death. Empires and Conquerors. The stories that might take in place among stars and spaceships but could be read in an ancient tome or carved onto the walls of a lost temple. Tales that are Mythic.

The story, the atmosphere, the music, the setting, these games are so awesome can't wait for Homeworld 3!

Man the music in these games is something else.

It wasn't Karen's fleet, it was the fleet of all surviving Kushanii. Rachael set out to find out what happened to her brother several years after a satellite was launched and detected the great anamoly. You're making it sound like it was only those two people who did anything of note.

@@durema9720 all of it. Monster, zombie ships, etc, like a cheap horror movie. No depth, no legend, no history. HW2 is larger than just moving ships on screen. Cataclysm never reaches beyond that.

No. In the demo all Somtaaw ships had a basic emblem of this kiith, not the Beastslayers' one. This means, Cataclysm is still non-canon

There's just something about playing across multiple generations of a people's journey

They gloss over an awful lot in the trailer, some of which is really important. Like the impetus for which the Taiidan Empire destroyed Kharak in the first place. Or the entire reason Homeworld 2 happened.

It was not shown in the game what exactly launched the missile to Kharak. The fire wave spread from the part of the planet where the probe flew.

They addressed it a couple years ago and said are not considering it as canonical to the story. Only Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, Homeworld 1 & 2 are considered "canon".

It’s cannon, the beastslayers emblem is on some carriers in the tutorial. The video here was more of a s’jet recap and not homeworld as a whole.

A nice sinopsis of Sands of Kharak, Homeworld and Homeworld 2.

Too bad Beast and Somtaaw Kith are not mentioned.

The first in-game cutscene in HW1 says: "100 years ago, a satellite detected an object under the sands of the Great Desert. An expedition was sent. An ancient starship, buried in the sand." The core was discovered by the expedition itself, not by the satellite

@@user-ow4sd6xj6n the satellite detected only a wreckage with some kind of anomaly in it. There were another anomalies throughout the Great Desert, so there's only the exploration team's effort in discovering the core - the "primary" anomaly

Anyone who likes this needs to watch the ‘new’ Battlestar Galactica.

You cant start at kharak! Its their prison planet! You need to explain why they were banished there in the first place. Tidan don't just show up and start blasting for no reason!

Doesn't hit the same without Campbell Lane. Idk why but this feels washed down. They didn't really highlight the music in these trailers either like they did for Homeworld 2. Really hope i'm wrong.

Guys, here me out. Fans of the series already know all this. New players - rarely care about it until they hooked by something. This trailer should hook people to play the new game but it's 3 minutes retelling the story of the first games. So new players will go and play them instead, wait for the sales on this one. Or better yet - hw2 was 21 years ago (omg), do we REALLY need to ground this game in that story? If not - what the purpose of this trailer?
