I love how the box basically matches the HW2 collectors edition box.

I love everything about the collector edition and what you get from this surprise box! Ship with mini figs, the game and a bunch of goodies! Love homeworld for all its history and story!

I have not said "Oh wow" with so much awe and reverence, as I have at multiple points in this video. I'm so glad I bought the Collector Edition, cannot wait for it

Aha. Newer trailers showed some slight modifications to the mothership design that, as I suspected, are not reflected in the CE model. The hyperspace cores don’t glow. Ah well. Still extremely cool.

CAN CONFIRM; MINE LOOKS A LOT BETTER THAN THIS My box arrived today. I was very nervous about quality when I saw your ships -the general paint quality and just levels of detail I thought were very poor. I was so worried we would all get awful looking ships, I almost cancelled. But with mine in hand, I can only guess you got a very early production sample, which had very poor levels of quality and detail

I just opened mine! I love it!! If you are a die hard homeworlds fan like myself, it's worth it for you! Been waiting almost 2 years for my box and just picked it up today after work...I know what I'm doing all weekend 😂

I really like the idea of the game where u can change the position of our mothership from a horizontal position to a vertical position in just 1 switch.

I haven't really played games on PC in years (mostly just PS5) - I built a new PC a few months ago in preparation for this launch. I can't wait to boot it up for the first time. The wait is over!

Great review! Im a huge homeworld fan i have this same edition just haven't opened it yet wanted to see if it was worth the price point. Lots of collector editions I have purchased in the past showcased a awesome item but when you opened , it was just a cheap POS. This definitely looks cool. Thx again for a great unboxing. I just received mine and it's not in the base because you can swap out the stand so that you can orient the Mothership between classic "bannana" mode (Refer to Homeworld 1 and 2 ) or flat like the mothership is orientated in the HW3 trailers. The arm that holds the Mothership in place comes in 2 different heights to make this work. The arm is separate from the stand and the ship and thats where the USB cord is embedded 1 for each arm.

@@Vashkuryeah, but with modern technology is should have pins (like in Motorola / iPads ) to allow such connection with ship with wirings purely on base, which would be slightly better. But on horizontal orientation I use it’s not as visible. Nice model but having 3D printer expected better quality, but it matches Banana Mothership I also own.

Destroyers and frigates will hyperspace with the mother ship, not docked inside. Only ships to dock are corvettes or smaller. The open bay display is more like showcasing a finished new construction. At least that's in the previous games...

I had to get the HW3 collectors ed, coz just like you also missed the HW2 collectors edition and regretted it. Will look to 3D print the HW2 and HW1 mothership someday....

I'm impressed looks amazing and only $175? this is a real collectors edition so many games doing one now that costs more and give straight junk in a box that isn't even remotely worth it. Feels almost like a steal and you actually get something worth collecting.

Assume they will email them if they are digital, comms has been pretty bad for Fig backers to be honest I have not much since they left Fig. Hopefully my Collectors Edition will be sent out early if it includes early access.

The proportions of the mothership look off to me.. It looks wider across the "wing" or the ship isnt tall enough?

The only other "game" related keychain i have that's withstood the test of time is my Amarr Empire (EvE:Online) keychain. Going on some 10+ years old or so, back when the official store was a thing. This one may just match that one in longevity.

Question to anyone who has the mothership figure; how long can the lights stay on? Low key, wanted to use it as a night stand but scared the internal lights will burn out if I leave it on say all night.

LEDs will essentially last forever. I wouldn't worry about that. :)

HW 3's collectors edition is even cooler than the HW Remastered. It looks awesome and of course the warp jump sound is too good.

Mine didn't come with the hangar door. Very disappointed.

the lighting is a little underwhelming, this doesn't feel like 160 GBP's worth.

Same sentiment, IMO the HW 1+2 remastered CE is much better quality than this. Those fighters, frigate and destroyer mold + paint job are just awful, and lastly the visible speaker feels off in the overall design of the mothership.

how you get the edition so early? ive been pre ordered since 2022 and it still is not here, also i thought the ship figurines would be higher quality. and i thought everything would be bigger, the store art makes it seem bigger.

Just gives you access to the 1st year of DLCs if you get that pre order, otherwise you have to get them separately. They're just new playable factions for wargames

No idea tbh. If you're not interested in the models, or not willing to put that much cash down for the whole collectors edition, there should be "deluxe edition" on the steam page for like 80 bucks which has the base game and year one pass which will get you those DLCs for I imagine a bit cheaper

The dimensions that were advertised are not to scale, it said the mothership would be 15 inches, but it looks like it is 8 inches here, and the lithograph said it would be 24 by 34 inches, but it looks 1/4th that. I've been beating myself up about missing the collectors edition, but it doesn't look like it was worth the money, even as the massive homeworld fan that I am.

Why are there a bunch of holes in the mothership, like for a speaker?

This video actually helped me decide not to get it. Thank you for saving me some money, If it had been 120 I would have bought it. LOVEEEEEE all the games, have them all and they are the best story based games I have ever played, very epic. The model seems VERY cheaply made, I will still buy the Fleet Command edition, but I will just 3d print the models and paint them.

I am in the same frame of mind, I have it on pre order but for what it offers it seem way overpriced and I'm considering cancelling. I hated myself for missing the 1+2 remastered collection edition so I really wanted this but with 3D printing you can just do it yourself these days.

why the hell it need a separate type c next to the stand support mounting point? and oh god that speaker grill is just ugly..... all that just for a cheap toy sound.....it would be more premium without it ...

Kinda funny to see Gearbox patting itself so hard on the back when they really didn't carry the torch of Homeworld forward. You can't even hyperspace in a match. Carriers are useless as carriers. AI is dumb as a brick shooting at megastructures with no enemy in sight. Resource game was dumbed down to almost nonexistant. Dumb moba abilities on units usable every minute. The Homeworld mobile games were nearly a better homage.
