Lived in an apartment for a week was pregnant and had a 2 yr old. Stepped out the shower one day to a maintenance guy in my living room. I screamed and ran back in my bathroom and called police. That's when I found out maintenance and even housekeeping have access to keys. I changed the locks and about a month later the complex tried to evict me for breaking the lease , they claimed changing the locks and not providing them a copy as the grounds. I fought it in court and thankfully had a judge with some sense who ended up fining the Complex for predatory practices.

I worked with a young lady named Jasmine Wright and she was one of the nicest and smartest girls who worked there. She left the call center and moved to PA to continue her education, she had already graduated from Drexel and done work in Africa. A few months later I heard the the grapevine she was killed in her apt by a maintenance who had a sick infatuation with unbeknownst to her, just because she was nice and cordial to him. He had been fired from the job but still had keys to the apartments. He hid in her home and ambushed her when she returned he assaulted and strangled her. I will never forget her she was a great young lady and may she RIH!!🙏🏾🙏🏾

That’s a terrible story. I just looked it up and the guy killed himself, good. What I want to know is why was he not in prison, he had murdered his own father? And why would the management team at the apartments hire a murderer, did they not do a background check? Very sad.

I had a contractor that was doing repairs in my new apartment become obsessed with me. He bought me flowers, asked me out relentlessly and would not take no for an answer. I was terrified of moving into the apartment and having him stalk me there. My good guy friend who is like a brother confronted him and paid him the balance of the money for the work and told him to stay away from me. We changed the locks in my new apartment and I filed a police report that night. Thankfully he never bothered me again. There are sick, disturbed, obsessive people out there who insist they have a connection with you because you smiled at them or were polite or kind. May this beautiful soul rest in peace. Same thing happened to my cousin, in Darlington SC. She was 18, recently graduated high school and was getting ready to head to college. A maintenence man, who had been fired, went in, raped her and slashed her neck. The apartment complex claimed they forgot to take his keys back. My cousin's grandmother was the one who had to find her that way. It was a horrible nightmare for the family and I just remember being in shock and numb for about a month. Im so sorry this happened to this beautiful young lady. I pray her family has found some kind of peace. I also hope they sued the complex. My cousin most definitely did sue and she won, but it still made no difference to her heart. She's still heartbroken and has never gotten over her daughters murder.

When you move into an apartment, the first thing you do is change the locks. Ring cameras, digital locks because it tells you when people enter or when your door was opened, door and window sensors, and a gun. It’s so important that women are able to protect themselves these days.

My first stalker happened when I was 17. He held the door open; I glanced, smiled, and said thank you. He followed me home. He was then leaving letters on my mother's car. One night standing across the street of our home at night, watching me pack the car. He was arrested after following my little sister and I to a McDonald's. I did receive a restraining order but not before I was intimidated by police officers that I had done something to make him misinterpret my interests. I was 17, he was 56. RIP, Miya ♡

*Not sure if you're familiar with the story of Cheslie Kryst, the Black former Miss USA who allegedly committed suic!de by jumping off a condo building about a year and 1/2 ago in New York City? Her death was very sketchy and her case seemed to be closed just a bit too fast raising lots of suspicion. One theory has been that perhaps she had a stalker. As beautiful and distinctive as she was in appearance it would not be surprising, including one video where she freaks out over some guy following her in a park. She had just moved into the condo where she allegedly jumped. NO surveillance video of her final movements EVER surfaced, raising further suspicion. Plus, her body landed so far out into the street that it looked like she was tossed off, rather than a "jump"? She lived at a very elite level, and I've seriously wondered if perhaps she rejected the advances of somebody very rich or powerful, leading to her death and that perhaps her family and even the police have had to fabricate the the suic!de story, until there can be a proper arrest?*

Kept reading hundreds of comments on videos connected to her story on here and elsewhere and story started to fall apart. Especially, after finally realizing the terrace where she supposedly "jumped" was set too far back for her to have landed where she landed. One guy made a great diagram of her building with some measurements and yup, the math ain't mathing. Could have even been an assisted suic!de, but after a YEAR of thorough analysis, I concluded that she did not simply "jump" off that building? I have no doubt she had mental issues, but like you said, something ain't right*

This story stays with me from first time i heard about it. I have cameras everywhere. We have roof damage and they wanted to survey the area. The first time they came two maintenance crew were inside while my roomate and i were home. The second time there was about 4 or 5 of them that wanted to check inside and i was alone. I said im working from home no you cant come in. The damage is up on the roof you should know by now where it is. They went away. I make sure i tell leasing office i dont feel comfortable when unknown people want to come in my unit while i am alone. They say will i feel better if leasing managers are there too? I said nope. I dont know you either. My roomate will be here as well as me. Roomate is a big dude. Also i keep something scary by the door to freak them out. I'm going through this now. The maintenance man is my next door neighbor. The screws in my door knob were taken out on the inside & outside. He was watching me constantly even late at night just to get deliveries, and if I had a visitor in the middle of day, he would come to his apartment to see. He even asked for my number to pick up my packages. 1. I got new locks 2. On Amazon I found a brand called Tapo and the cameras (20.00) have cloud recordings for a small fee- 30 day trial ... I got 4 of them 3. I got a security system, that has a cell back up if the wifi turns off & alarm permit so the police show up 4. I got 2 Enforcer locks for the front door, so they can't kick in the door. 5. I put child safety mechanisms so they can't open the window. It gets stuck from the outside. The cameras & alarm system has helped so much. Be safe and record everything in a journal.

He also suggested calling the furniture store, which I did the very next morning when they opened. The owner had a conversation with the employee, who explained that he was sorry and that he just liked me and wanted to initiate more convo. At that time, I accepted it for what it was and, luckily, the employee never came back. However, as an older and mature adult, that never made sense because they delivered during the day and had my number, so there were other opportunities and avenues to reach out rather than showing up to someone's house at 9-10 at night.

This is the first time I’ve heard her story and omg, how heartbreaking! And scary! It made me think of how about a year ago, my apartment complex got new owners who brought in new workers to redo some of the empty apartments.. One day I was home alone with my 1 year old and me door just randomly opened and this middle-aged, Guatemalan man walked in. He was surprised to see me sitting right there in my apartment and after I asked him what he’s doing he kind of played it off like he must have been confused about which apartment he was supposed to go work in. Looking back, I realize how the apartment that he “meant” to go in, had workers in and out for a few weeks at that point. How did HE not know which apartment was the right one? Unfortunately, me feeling so un-easy, and nervous, and not wanting to be “mean” led to me having a “friendly” conversation with him.. he even asked me for a cigarette which he smoked while asking me if I needed anything fixed in my apartment. At some point I felt uncomfortable enough that I knew to mention I was married. THEN he started saying things like “does your husband know how lucky he is to have you?”. I was shocked and didn’t know how to react at the time.. I just awkwardly laughed and THANKED HIM! I actually thanked him. Being a woman, it can be so frightening to aggressively tell a man that he’s out of line and unfortunately, we end up being too nice. Since I was being so polite, it really was so hard to get rid of him.. it seemed like it took forever. I even texted my husband “hurry get back here” during the time he was standing there talking. Luckily, although this wasn’t the last time my door randomly opened when I was home alone, it WAS the last time he ever came inside. At least that I know of. But thank God it didn’t lead to anything like this happening. My prayers are with this family and any family that has ever had to go through something like this 💔

I am so sorry for this families loss. Her smile looks so much like LaLa Anthony. Im praying for the family! I lived at a luxury apt. my next door neighbor was a 95 yr old women (who used to work in the office). She told me that many years before I moved in the apartment across the hall from me. A young lady came home from work and was scalped by someone that used to work at the apartments. Our apartments was right next to the stairwell. The lady survived. She told me that apartments never changes the locks after tenants move out. That any former employee still can use master keys to enter a dwelling. Right before covid I worked as an assistant property manager and I can 1000% confirm that the locks are never changed, that keys can be made in the janitors closet, that anyone that works at the apt has access to them. I have so many freaky apartment stories from working at them and living at them Please be careful...buy a ring camera, put cameras in your apartment, get an alarm, change all locks, befriend the elderly neighbors (they will always look out for you), and get a gun

I did call the police and didn’t press charges because I felt bad about him being an old man. But needless to say I didn’t renew my lease, but he always made comments toward me that made me feel uncomfortable. I lived with my young son and I locked the door to my room every night before bed. This story hits too close to home. She was so beautiful and sounded very kind and her life was taken out too soon by an evil predator who couldn't take no for an answer. I remember when I attended an out-of-state college and also worked full-time at a major store a good-looking guy came in one day and we had a brief conversation about really nothing and he left. I had a boyfriend at the time and thought nothing of it and no matter what they looked like I was never the type to give strangers personal information. A few days later he brings his mom in and introduces her to me and the next thing I know they are basically standing in front of me having a full blown conversation about what my wedding dress is going to look like, when the wedding is and that I would carry a baby well. 👂😲 The mom saying that her son picked well and I would be the perfect wife. I'm looking around trying to stay calm and not act stunned while praying to GOD for help. I look into direction where a hidden security camera is in disbelief praying someone is catching it. I was so thankful and grateful because I was unaware this guy had been surveillancing me for a couple of days before he approached me in the store the first time and the security guards were very suspicious of him and monitored him. The security guards called the police and the store banned him and his mom from coming back and my store family made sure I was always escorted when I went outside the store even before the incident. Although I lived across the street from the store my boyfriend picked me up or I was escorted home by one of the security guards or a friend who worked in the store with me after the police got involved. The crazy thing is my store was on high alert about this guy monitoring me, but never told me I guess not to scare me and they said they wanted to make sure their suspicions were confirmed. I never saw this guy or his mom again.

@@lenettetillman-greene7582 Thank You! 🥰 I see stories like this and it breaks my heart and it makes me stop and reflect this could have been me. 🥺 I wish that was the only incident, but I have dealt with a few other scary situations. Warning Long Story! ⚠️ I would say this was about year later from 1st incident. Once again I was still in college and it was at night and I just got off work and I almost got abducted. I always noticed a lot of motorcycles outside across from where I worked, but never knew the place was a biker bar. My apartment was really close. Where I lived there was a four-way light intersection and I had two ways to go but I normally crossed the 1st crosswalk I guess next to the bar because across from it was a lighted bus stop and my store I worked at and then I crossed the second crosswalk and maybe 20 steps I was at my apartment complex. I often saw a lot of bikes but this was the first time I actually seen anyone come out of the bar and I lived in this state for 4 ½ years to obtain my BA Degree. That night no one was at the bus stop and two guys who were over six feet and very muscular came out of the bike bar and walked up to me while I was still in the crosswalk and one was on one-side and the other on the other side as if escorting me. I was praying to my Father GOD the whole time, but I honestly acted psycho, threatening and cursing them and acting sporadic and they both hurried up and got away from me. I went into a "Fight or Flight Mode" and I honestly said to myself I am not letting them take me anywhere and if I died they were going to die with me. I literally told them if they did not get away from me they would die, but truthfully I meant every word. You would have swore I was not a Christian that night if you heard me cursing and I hate cursing and after I got home I seriously thanked GOD, told on them and asked for forgiveness for all my cursing. I seriously prayed and did some soul searching that night because I was shocked by my behavior. Then a peace came over me. The last incident was a few years after college and I moved back to California close to home and I was helping my mom move and clean her apartment and move into a more secure one. I was cleaning and I met a good-looking city public worker and he asked me out. We went out that night, but I told him I would drive my car and meet him. At my bestfriend’s request I first had him follow me to her place of work and I let her meet him and later on she told me she didn’t want to discourage me, but she just had a bad feeling. He stated he was been really busy with work and asked if we could please make a quick stop to the 24 hour self clean carwash before getting something to eat. I stupidly followed him and I checked the time and it was about 9 pm. That should have raised serious Red Flags, but like an idiot I followed him in my own car. About 5 minutes later at the carwash there were about 7 cars full of guys and they were blocking the exit. They all jumped out of the vehicles and stood by the cars and I looked at my date and wasn't sure if it was a setup or if we were targets, but in my heart I felt it was a setup and I was the target. I started praying to my Father GOD to please get me out of this situation and I started going off. I am pretty sure they were all packing. Once again If you would have heard me cussing, wanting to fight them and I went so psycho and once again switched into "Fight or Flight mode" and by the grace of GOD all the cars full of men started getting back into their cars and leaving I ended the date. I honestly think Papa GOD sent Heavenly War Angels to help me in both situations, because I am not sure if my instant craziness was enough to scare them off so abruptly. I truly feel there are times you need to stay calm, but then there are times you need to act crazier then them but always stay prayed up. Sorry, back to the story! I made an excuse to end the date because I didn’t feel safe, but couldn’t just come straight out and accuse him without proof. A few weeks later the same guy called and asked me to come over to his house and when the call ended my mom said “Don’t even think about going over to his house, the LORD said NO they want to finalize your abduction”. To be honest I wasn’t shocked when she said it. The thing is I never told my mom about the incident only my bestfriend. I honestly had no intentions on going to his house, but it was confirmation to everything I was feeling and I obeyed my mom and told her everything. To this day I pray to my Father GOD to get them because I believe they were a Human Trafficking Ring. I wanted to go to the police, but my mom and bestfriend said and tell them what and if it was true you would become the bait with no guarantee of safety. Although I felt stupid, I was thankful once again I followed my guts and took my own car and never gave him my address. I even had my cellphone number changed. We as women need to be super aware of our surroundings, take self defense classes, have some type weapon on us and around us, keep weapons in hidden and accessible places at all times especially in our homes, be very careful who we let into our space and keep developing “Help Signals” to save our own lives and other women and stay prayed up. Be Blessed! I literally forgot this one. I think this one wins the prize. A few years ago my mom and I was sitting upfront in my church and an older lady and her son comes in. They sat in front of us and we had never seen them before. The older lady seem like she had a hard time walking, but often she would look back at me and smile at me and I would smile at her. After church she asked me to escort her to the ladies room so I did. She said I was so sweet and lovely she wanted me to escort her to her car. When we came out of the bathroom my mom was waiting on us. The son was already in the long pickup waiting for his mom. I noticed right away he was parked upfront and he backed his truck into the parking stall I guess to get out quicker. The older lady asked me to help her into the truck, but she seemed to be having a hard time getting in and I am thinking why doesn't the son get out and help his mom. My mom said you may have to get in and help her up. I told my mom out loud I love you, but are you crazy. One of the Decons saw the situation and offered to help the older woman get in the truck and then the older woman got really ugly and nasty and said I don't need your help and jumped up in the seat slammed the truck door and they speed out of there as if they were on a Highway. The Decon looked at me and I was even stunned. I was so mad at my mom that day. I said nice or not nice you wanted me to jump in their truck and me be stuck in the middle trapped, what were you thinking and Thank GOD I did not listen. They were clearly evil and up to no good. I call that when the Devil comes into church to try to deceive and harm you. I am really done. 🤦 SORRY FOR LONG STORIES!

They give these strange men jobs without doing extensive background checks etc but will deny a single mother like myself over a misdemeanor… I personally know this young lady family and this had me and still has me in a chokehold! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I agree, I’m a young mom who stole from target in 2019. I was only 22 then I’m now turning 27 and this misdemeanor shows up on my record of course. I always over explain myself and worry. That one mistake has cost me a lot then there’s ducking creeps like this loser.

Mya should’ve reported those messages to police. One time I had a woman threatening me via messages because she thought I was playing around with his man. I immediately reported her to police and they called to let her know to stop doing that. She never aging bothered me. Sad this happened to this beautiful person. May God give this family peace 😢

This is risky advice the police will do exactly what you said they did warn the criminal stop texting and then that's it now someone crazy capable of murder is angry at you for yet something else my whole family had to move and change their numbers because my mom reported someone sending me crazy texts and they went on to send people to follow and threaten us

Such ashame. This young girl basically lost her life because she was young and beautiful and some disgusting creep who wanted her so badly was rejected by her. Then he decides to cop out and continue to be the coward he was by taking his own life never owning up to or receiving the consequence of his actions. So senseless my heart just breaks for her family and for her for whay she had to go through that night.

I don’t think he took his life. I think the family did street justice in the police turned a blind guy. He was the number one suspect and he had never been arrested. They got him.
