I leave my tree up until February and even March. I transition Christmas decor to Winter. I live in Florida but originally from New Jersey and I miss the Winter season and find myself wanting to keep that season around as long as I can. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and homemaking.

I cannot agree with you more wholeheartedly. We had a hard Christmas this year. I became quite ill and had to quarantine for three weeks-through Christmas. Ya know what! No one mentioned the missed food, decorations, traditions, or gifts! What they did say, everyone, was, “Mom, we so missed you being with us.” My heart ached and rejoiced at the same time. But, I learned an invaluable lesson. Presence is the absolute key. Something to appreciate, learn, and remember ❤️

Awesome video once more❤ so beautiful and relaxing! Thrifting is my hobby! 99 % of our home is all thrifted pieces. People love it though when they come to visit saying how cozy it is or asking where I got certain things in the house… I proudly say “it’s a from Goodwill or some thrift store is almost always my answer:) I enjoy seeing pieces others thrift and how they style it. May God bless your family in this new year!

I usually keep things up for about a week after Christmas bit this year I've taken it down already. I'm an older mom and grandma ,I learned a long time ago that perfection is to hard and its exhausting. I love our home and aim for "welcoming". I want our home clean but welcoming. Our home was built to live love and live in peace in. Happy New Years and love from Missouri

I put our Christmas tree up the weekend of Thanksgiving and I took my tree down today. Everything was cleaned and vacuumed. I don’t put things heavily all over the house just mostly where we spend our time. It felt good to get everything put away and cleaned. I do love thrifting but haven’t been in a long time. Happy New Year ~ Janet😘

Growing up our tree always went up two or three weeks before Christmas and always came down the day after Christmas. However my husband didn’t like that so we compromised! It goes up the day after thanksgiving but it gets taken down on January first. He makes me wait that long! It is all good. I don’t want to lose the magic of it all. So I find it is good to take it down earlier and get back to some normalcy otherwise for me the tree becomes more of a nuisance than a beauty. I guess I could be called a thrifter. My home is nearly completely furnished with second hand things. Our clothing, kitchen utensils etc. appliances, furniture. Everything! We did it out of necessity. Always shopped the second hand stores or the classifieds. So perhaps that isn’t technically thrifting!😂. Now that the home is paid off I will still search for what we need but I only want to thrift shop for necessity. With a large family and everything all of us have collected and acquired, I feel surrounded by things I probably don’t need and I want to declutter and slightly minimalize many things right now. But that always happens to me this time of the year. Decorations will come down tomorrow after Sunday!

I take the tree and Christmas theme decorations down around the first of the year. I leave winter theme decor up until at least February. The a little valentines Not much. Once I know there is no more snow, I take down the winter the a few days break, the spring. But it depends on the weather. Depends on the snow. Lol

I love thrifting so much. I have found so many lovely things through the years. It wasn't something that I really knew about growing up but I take my kids and we love it. Last year we found two large wooden bells( about 3 " tall and handmade) that are carved with different Christmas senses on them. I absolute love them and had the best time finding them a special place in my home this year.

We don't decorate for Christmas until December, a little later than some, then leave it up until the weekend after New Year's. As I transition out of "Christmas" I then decorate for winter, highlighting snowflakes and stars and still lots of additional lights with candles or fairy lights etc. It's too harsh for me to go from all the cozy extras of Christmas to regular home decor. Midwest winters can be long so for me it's best to embrace and celebrate it!

I must admit, the day after Christmas I put things away. I had very little out this year, my manger scene and a few other things. I make quilts, cross stitch etc so that is most of my decorations. Your home always looks so cozy and inviting.

I leave the tree and decorations up until Epiphany on January 6. But I do usually leave a few lights on the mantle for the dark nights of winter. Do you watch Old World Home? Hillary is a big thrifter and likes to decorate like you do - she also has four children. She is one of my favorites.

I take down all the decorations in the first couple days of January and I am definitely ready to do so. For the first time I had all the decorating done right before Thanksgiving. Ready for normal. I am not always a joyful homemaker. Wish that came more naturally to me. I don't thrift. When you get my age you don't want to accumulate more stuff.
