Homemade helmet stops bullets

Ғылым және технология

Maybe I'll look more into this concept in the future.
Cartridges stopped: .22LR, .32auto, .38special, 12GA No4 buckshot.

I would love to see tests on an east german M56 steel helmet modernized with an aramid liner. This helmet has time and time again been proven to be the best of the classic steel helmets. It's steel is high quality and the front is angled at 40 degrees while the sides and rear are at 30 degrees. As it is it can withstand powerful pistol calibers such as .357 Magnum and 7.62x25mm Tokarev FMJ.

It'd be really cool to make. Maybe in the future, it's a lot of work to do

Where you source the kevlar with her?

That's pretty impressive indeed. I'm guessing this has similar performance to something like a kolpak-20 with the extra layers of uhmwpe. I'm really curious to see that helmet tested

The kolpak is a lot stronger, my helmet uses a mild steel shell and only 4 layers of kevlar, it really just barely meets the threshold of being ballistic. Thanks for watching man, I'm still trying to find an affordable kolpak.

for a diy helmet that shit surpass expectation. Btw it would be cool if you can test one of those 80s pasgt helmet to see how the 40 years old kevlar hold up (not because I own one and too poor to buy a ach).

Pasgt helmets are still very good and dknt degrade like people claim, short of submerging them in saltwater. You should be fine.

So you basically got a m1 helmet, added some kevlar inside and cut it to shape it as a high cut? I have a m53 checz helmet and would love to do something similar
