Homelander Origin - Ultra-Psycho, Ultra-Evil, Ultra-Powerful Monster Is A Product Of Corporate Greed

Ойын-сауық

The Homelander is no hero, as fans of Amazon Prime's "The Boys" know. Don't be fooled by his false grin. He may have Superman's powers wrapped up in Captain America-style patriotism. Homelander is vicious and psychotic, with a chip on his shoulder that is stronger than Kryptonite and little respect for human life. Consider Clark Kent, but without the empathy, superiority complex, or toddler-like rage outbursts.
However, how will you feel if I say that the comic version of Homelander is more diabolical and twisted? He has committed horrible actions with hardly a second's thinking and no regret. The flag-wearing superhero takes center stage in some of the comics' darkest moments which doesn't exactly shy away from brutal and distressing imagery. When it comes to the leader of Seven, the Amazon Prime series pulls no punches - yet, even so, there are elements from the comics that have already proven too twisted up for the small screen.

The best thing about Homelander is that he actually had the potential to be just like Cap and Superman, but Vought's cruel and brutal methods of raising him turned him into the monster he ended up as.

What sucks about the comics, Homelander honestly was just a guy that was abused mentally, and emotionally, he didn’t do any of the horrors Billy Butcher thought he did.. so in all, Homelander was innocent, just riddled with mental health issues- it’s Black Noir that’s the true monster. Yea Superman has like a whole toolbag of powers Homelander doesn't. I know it's a budget thing but just some of the fights we've seen Superman have compared to some of the fights we've seen in the Boys.. People are getting smashed into walls in the show while Superman fights throughout shows and films are sending people through entire buildings or mountains etc.. Homelander also attempts to address the issue of flying powers and being able to lift heavy objects in the process. Homelander apparently couldn't lift something like a plane while flying because his 'powers of propulsion' just didn't have enough force behind it. This makes Superman superior in a flying fight.

@@FawnieFox I remember that. Did she actually DO IT??? I would think someone like her with her high moral standards WOULD REFUSE??? Why would someone like her, one of the few TRULY HEROIC characters sacrifice her dignity like that? I never actually SAW HER doing it with him. I saw her backing out.

@@Zurround she did it because she wanted to be part of the seven. That’s how important her dream was. She (thought she) HAD to do in order to stay on the team. Later we find out that the deep has very little power on the team and likely wouldn’t have been able to get her fired, but she didn’t know that. Queen Maeve even tells her to “grow up” (or something) when she sees her crying in the bathroom. Implying she knows what happened.

These characters are great. Yes, each one of them is royally messed up in their own way, but they're actually interesting individuals, unlike their mainstream Marvel and DC counterparts who've been old, tired and boring for DECADES NOW.

I wouldn't go that far, there's a reason those characters lasted as long as they did in marketing and in the minds of readers the audience. If they were boring they wouldn't be relevant at all.
