    A Home Fry and new subscriber. Just found your channel because you reacted to Home Free. Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. Organized in a college dorm in Minnesota in 2000; they won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Two are from Minnesota, one from Georgia, one from Texas and one from Alabama (Current members, Chris left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Chance). Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way. Loved your reaction and looking forward to many more.

    They’re an incredible group. The beatboxer is the best in the business. They can all beatbox to a degree and they’re all great singers. They all take the lead depending on the song. They are country but sing all genres of music. They can make you laugh or cry. For some Christmas music try O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, Do You Hear What I Hear. Good reaction!😍😄

    Welcome, welcome, welcome to the world of us 'Home Fries!' Hope you will be one of us too! (Actually, I have little doubt) Without a stretch, each and every member of this group is, arguably, world class in there own right. They also demonstrate a sense of ego-less thought, which allows for each and every group member to represent songs which suit any of their particular talents best. Austin Brown, a high tenor singer song-writer, who also has his own channel which is highly suggested. He has an incredible range and has displayed it many a time.... Austin shines in his performances of 'When Man Loves Woman' and 'Bring Him Home', from the score of 'Les Miserables!' - two of only many... I believe you will not be disappointed. Rob Lundquist, is another tenor with a unique timbre, who has a very flexible voice and range. Just a hugely talented, big cuddly Teddy Bear who has a terrific Gospel, Blues ability. Tim Faust, is a true Basso Profundo who has blown out many sub-woofers and speakers, live on stage. He too, has his own channel, so be sure to check him out. Believe it, or not, Tim has demonstrated a 5+ Octave range! Adam Rupp, is very simply, a freak of nature who is a world champion Beat-Boxer. He always has a unique way of expressing himself on each and every track. It is truly amazing to discover the myriad of sounds this man can produce! Adam Chance, (called Chance, as to avoid any confusion) is the newest member of this ensemble, who replaced one of the co-founders and brother of Adam Rupp named Chris Rupp. Chance has a silky-smooth voice that defies labelling. Though Home Free is a 'Country Sounding' group, they are talented enough to be able to cover and create all and any genres. Proof of this is Austin and Rob giving a performance in the Opera Genre, (more than acceptably well) titled: Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera... Home Free have had many collaborations with the Original Artists, whom are quite amazingly honoured by keeping their hits, recognizable. I am hopeful you will enjoy their offerings, without all the comparisons that others have made. How can anyone be compared with another? Just appreciate the music which all these true artists grace us with...😃

    Tim Foust has a vocal range from A0 to A5, so yes a 5 octave range, but so does Geoff Castellucci his range is Bb0 to Bb5 but the record for vocal range for a male singer belongs to Tim Storms of Pierce arrow, his range is from G -7 and has a range of 10 octaves! Very little to choose between Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci - just down to personal preference!

    @Darrell-72 I truly do not understand the need for comparisons. It is completely subjective - knowing that one can only recognize what one has experienced. This, in itself, is the ultimate limiting factor. Let's just enjoy what each and every true artist has to offer and not attempt to pigeon-hole anyone...

    @@shihansensei983 so why make a point of his “5+ octave range”, when I leave comments about VoicePlay or Pentatonix or Dianna Ankudinova I never include their vocal range, to me it’s a bit puerile and means nothing to a listener, maybe a vocal coach or singer like The Fairy Voice mother or Elizabeth Zaroff (The Charismatic Voice) but not anyone else, no point!!

  • @shihansensei983

    @shihansensei983

    @@DarrellW_UK Then, let me put this in terms you may understand. My reference to Tim's vocal range was mentioned as I was very specifically describing Tim Faust - nothing more and nothing less. It seems you've obviously been triggered. If nothing else, I do respect your right to voice your opinions, however they may be perceived. Many singers have varying ranges, but, those who can will note that all of them have different timbers - but, that's another topic all together. The very fact that you attempted to admonish me for pointing out a positive trait, with condescending fodder, says much of your willingness to take into account the varied listening base which may have come across that particular comment. Yes, the Fairy Voice Mother and Elizabeth have interesting points they bring to bear, however, there are quite a few others (proven academics and performers) who also offer unique and interesting perspectives. Perhaps, you should read it again in its entirety....this time slower that you may truly understand - however, I refuse to be so ill-mannered enough to say this. I am saddened to have replied to this thread, as it shows a lack of higher acceptance I constantly aspire towards. I guess we all have faults.... Indeed, I offer my sincerest apologies to Koality Reactions for having to endure this.

    To say Home Free is a really good a capella group is one of the understatements of the decade. Five gorgeous voices that meld better than should be legal. Enjoy the HF rabbit hole - it is deep AND wide. 180+ official videos, many collaborations with others, and hundreds of fan videos from concerts over the years. And after you get a taste of HF as a whole, you can branch out to their individual works, both solo and in collaboration with other fine singers/groups. Welcome - but if you aren't wearing era buds, you definitely should be using headphones/ear buds to truly appreciate those bass notes and the high harmony lines.

They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. I quite like this blend of voices. PTX and VP and HF are all very talented, and which I prefer sometimes just depends on the song or the style. To stay on the Home Free train, “Folsom Prison Blues” is the obvious next pick. It’s a similar, simple video style, and the same five guys. “Christmas in LA” is funky pop. “How Great Thou Art”is traditional choral. And “Do You Hear What I Hear” focuses on the beat boxing. Left to right Rob - Chance - Austin - Adam - Tim.

    In my opinion, Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinctly southern (country blues/bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Check out some of their Christmas songs: Oh Holy Night, Do You Hear What I Hear, Mary Did You Know, Snow Globe, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, and their newest release, Christmas in L.A. #HomeFree #HomeFreeDoesChristmasBest

    Home Free is labeled as a country acapella group, but they can and do all genres of music. They were called a country acapella group to be the token country group in The Sing-Off, an acapella competition show. They won the competition. That was season four. Pentatonix won season three on the show. There are three main acapella groups: Pentatonix, Voiceplay, and Home Free. They are all alumni of The Sing-Off. Voiceplay was on season four with Home Free. The two groups became friends during the competition Each group is different. Someone came up with the clever idea of comparing them to high school cliques. Pentatonix are the popular kids in that they perform mainly pop music. Voiceplay are the theatrical kids. They perform primarily theatrical and movie songs complete with costumes and makeup. They are especially remarkable in that they do all aspects of their video productions themselves. Home Free are the kids tailgating in the parking lot having fun. Home Free is especially versatile in their ability to sing all genres of music Many people claim their covers are actually upgrades of the songs. Home Free also writes their own original material. They were recently commissioned to write a sea shanty for Ubisoft for the company's soon-to-be-released game Skull and Bones. They were chosen because of the popularity of their Sea Shanty Medley made during Covid. Their sea shanty Skull and Bones written by Adam Chance is outstanding. They often perform with other artists, some not so well known as well as famous ones. Home Free sings serious songs and goofy ones. They are extremely serious and dedicated to their art, but they don't take themselves too seriously. For Christmas you should check their performance with Kenny Rogers with Children Go Where I Send Thee. They have numerous Christmas songs, traditional ones, and original ones. Some of their Christmas songs are: Christmas in LA, O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, Do You Know What I Know, Snow Globe, Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, The Warmest Winter, Cold Hard Cash, Full of Cheer

    New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

    The top 3 groups on youtube are definitely Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay. Voiceplay's bass singer also does his own solo stuff that is equally phenomenal. His name is Geoff Castellucci. Im sure you'll get plenty of suggestions to react to for all of them.

    Tim Foust is their bass and his bass buddy from VoicePlay Geoff Castellucci has also done a cover of this song on his channel where he does LOW bass covers. Geoff also arranged Elvira for home free to sing with the Oakridge Boys. Home Free and VoicePlay have done a fun collaboration and single members have appeared in VoicePlay videos.

    Welcome to the Home Fries! This is a VERY deep rabbit hole. There's only one mistake you can make with Home Free -- listening to "Mayday" too soon. You don't get maximum enjoyment from this great performance until you know all the guys and their voices. For most reactors, that's 6 to 8 reactions to other HF performances. It's also an excellent idea to listen to female country vocalist Cam perform the original -- kzread.info/dash/bejne/l4ampa9-iLPQh9I.html When you listen to HF's all-male version, note that they perform it in the same key as Cam! As others have commented, all members of this group have amazing voices...and there's Adam Rupp--one of the best beat boxers in the world. You just had good introductions to Austin Brown (high tenor), Rob Lundquist (tenor), and Tim Foust (basso profondo.) Adam is a human drum kit. During HF's live shows, he does a "drum solo." One of those drum solos is here ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/d5WirbmFhcSqoMo.html ) Finally, a CAUTION: HF's cover of the 1966 Percy Sledge soul classic "When a Man Loves a Woman" ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6StybKmlqq3prg.html ) has a tendency to turn female listeners (all ages) into a speechless puddle. :-)

    Great reaction to Home Free, and welcome to the rabbit hole. After Christmas (since that's when I caught this), absolutely anything they have done is excellent. Their covers are definitely upgrades from the originals (or at least the most recent previous versions), their originals are excellent, and their collabs with other artist (Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Peter Hollens, Hound + Fox, etc.) are also excellent! The beatboxer, Adam Rupp, with his "nomonica" is absolutely out of this world! Thanks for this reaction - new home fry sub.

    While Home Free does cover many "country" songs, they can do all genres. I recommend their cover of "End of the Road" from Boyz II Men. Home Free also loves to make their fans laugh. Check out "Life is a Highway" and "Never Gonna Give You Up" for the comic side of Home Free. And for a total departure from country music, check out Rob and Austin (the two tenors) doing "Nessun Dorma". I think you'll be shocked at Rob's ability to sing opera.

    Don't wait for Mayday - just do it immediately after Brothers in Arms and understand the first singer in both songs is the same man. I think that is the only thing really special about Mayday. I love Chance and what he has added since he joined, but I don't find his part all the amazing. He hit a bass note that is well within his range. He was a bass for his previous group. Plus, I believe that his bass note was double tracked because of the jump in volume (might be wrong). Tim's part at the beginning is the mind blowing part.
