You’d be surprised how often we get “hurricane force winds” in Wyoming. It happens far more often than people think, it’s just not always broadcasted because of the frequency 😂 Definitely not CAT 5 wind, however, it still gets pretty crazy out here, pretty often.

I-80 across southern WY is fun in high winds in a pickup. You cant doze off because all of the fun noises

Good job, guys. Was good to hear about the winds there. Always good to get perspectives from other parts of the country. We just had tornadoes here -- strong winds but in funnel form.

It’s actually pretty surprising that we DONT get more tornados over here, considering how much wind we get. Last time we had a funnel here was close to 10 years ago, wayyyyy up on the backside of our little mountain. You could see it from town, it was pretty cool! During the summer months, we get frequent touchdowns out in the plains, but they rarely make it to any towns.

300 plus mph wind anywhere else in the country is called an EF5 Tornado. LOL I noticed that a lot in WY when I lived in Gillette. I've seen the aftermath of Wind on the I-80 when i was a CDL Driver. looked like they all were taking the DOT required 8 hrs off it was crazy I do admire a State that ain't afraid to closed the gates and lock the rest of the world out because they can't drive in your weather conditions LOL

Thanks for the fun reaction 😄 As a California girl, I just gotta push back a little on the wind discussion. We have Santa Ana Winds that blow through. Normal gusts range from about 40 mph to about 80 mph and earlier this year we had a record gust for So. California of 104 mph out by Santa Clarita. These are dangerous winds that absolutely do knock over trees leaving streets in shambles, killing people and damaging homes especially when they happen after a rain. The palm trees lose weakened fronds but because they are so bendy flexy, they withstand the wind better than other trees that do not bend so well and have shallow root systems. Still not as bad as Wyoming, I am certain but worse than you are expecting. I live by the Cajon Pass and overturned trucks at freeway interchanges up and down the 15 frwy are the norm during these events.

That sounds like I-80 out here in Wyoming. There’s always news headlines with photos of multiple overturned trucks all in the ditch. Scary stuff, and we’re just glad we don’t have to be the ones in those driver seats! Thanks for watching with us, thank you for the info, and happy new year!

Definitely something to be said about the old Caddies and Buicks and their smooth rides!

As a former Minnesotan for many decades, share an appreciation for Christmas being in 'wintry' weather. Not the sustained kinds of winds you experience, but blizzard winds can very treacherous and plenty of instances where the 'wind tunnel effect' in downtown areas had me holding onto sides of bldgs or ducking into doorways to catch my breath, regroup, before heading back out and being swept along. But am now in LA and the very mild temperatures...and the palm trees...don't inspire a sense of the Holidays. Having seasons also gives one a point of reference when recalling a life event. Days and weeks tend to blur when it's 'around 70 and sunny' many days. Great bop from the guys. Really curious that, in the car capital of the world, they chose a Caddi, especially when the camera zooms in on 'Eldorado' as Austin sings 'Chevrolet.' Perhaps all about the visual and the functionality. One reactor felt this HF version of the song had some Stevie Wonder vibes. Everyone has their own takeaway. Always enjoy your HF reactions.
