That Annie Sloan paint is wonderful, the colours you have chosen look very good. You have a lovely husband who goes to work all day and then comes home and paints a ceiling.

I think that the wallpaper would be nice in the bookcase area. It gives a nod to the Victorian era of the home yet keeps things modern.

It’s amazing how the colors changed that room. This feels so much more like your style. It also has a calming Northern European feel. I think you could’ve left it black behind the TV, then the TV would’ve just blended in. But I’m sure once you get done with what you’re going to do, it will look amazing. As always.

I’m in a similar position- in terms of wanting to get it done. I sadly, and fortunately, inherited my parent’s home- where my siblings and I grew up. I have found making changes to the family home has been a huge challenge. We redecorated my son’s room- which was my childhood bedroom- very pink. It’s stunning. Navy panelling and grey. Dramatic art- black and white David Bowie photo, my grandma’s antique furniture is now his. We did the bathroom- it’s a 5 star minimalist stone bathroom in an old 1952 house- which my dad and his brothers built. Yes there is asbestos. Each room is expensive and a challenge. But the biggest challenge is seeing my childhood home as an adult. Every Christmas for 50 years for me lived here. And every Christmas since 1952 lives here. This is why the lounge room is such a challenge. I love what you’re doing. You inspire me.

Oh Christina you and the pups did so well with this room. And Ryan. Simply fantastic! Thank you for your endless sharing. You really inspire me.

I love the colors, the bookcase by the fireplace is wonderful. Really brightened the room.

First off, having owned a standard poodle I love to watch yours and at the beginning of this vid they didn't disappoint. Thank you for sharing the respect of your home's heritage while creating a modern take on history. BTW, my poodle would think he was hiding behind the sofa after being groomed. He was happiest in the winter when we would let him grow his dreadlocks.

Love the paint choices. Yes I would put wallpaper in the bookcases to give dimension.

I feel for Ryan- we have three daughters and a hefty blue heeler, and anytime we have something on the floor we want to move, it’s a battle to get all four of them off! Hello Christina, Looking fresh and enthusiastic! Nothing ventured nothing gained! The new paint colours are so complementary and soft on the eye. It looks and I am sure, so warm and homely. Love how you have painted the walls and the wood panelling. You can change and match the furniture afterwards, once the painting is done you can decide piece by piece where to place them. The dogs look like a lot of fun, real treasures. Somehow I prefer the painting of the shelving as the wallpaper would be covered from the ornamental pieces and books. But that's me. Can't wait to see Part 2. Kind regards.

The colors you chose bring out the beautiful, elegant old victorian lady's charm. (Does she have a name? She needs a name.) Loving AS house paint! I think the wallpaper inside the bookcases would be beautiful. Yes! keep the original floors. They can always be refinished/stained if you want a different tone. Wow! What a transformation! The room looks so much brighter and stylish 🥰 I would definitely use the wallpaper at the back of the cabinets to give them added texture and I agree with putting some sort of picture frame around the TV. I think I would sand all of the floors as it’ll bring out the beautiful old grain, messy I know as we’re doing that in our 1540s cottage but so worth it. You’re dogs are absolutely adorable and so full of character 😊❤️

Your dogs are hilarious. We are a 4 (rescue) dog household....1 weimaraner, 3 cocker spaniels and 1 shih tzu and theres never a dull moment. They make me smile on the most miserable day ❤

I absolutely love the matte finish- I always gravitate towards these finishes as well, they just feel warm and elegant at the same time, to me. Really gorgeous paint!!!

Looking great! I don't blame you about replacing the floors. Being as old as the floors are, it's pretty amazing what great condition they're in! The house loves you both for taking care of her so I think I would respect her glory and leave the floors as is for now anyway. Don't go pissing her off. I just love how beautiful you've made your home. I love that wallpaper too! Wallpaper is getting so popular. Although, it's changed a lot since I papered, LOL. I did my bathroom and kitchen with Venetian Plaster years ago and I am still in love with it! They were pretty small spaces but they were a lot of work… enjoy your amazing home❤️

@@TheReclaimedHeirloom it was probably 20 years ago. It was either Home Depot or Lowe’s. It was premixed and in a can. I used a taupe color with an off white on the ceiling, I did it because I remember ready that it doesn’t get moldy. It has been in there for a very long time and we have never had mold after that.

OMG Christina it is absolutely beautiful! I wish I could give you a definite opinion on the wallpaper but I can tell you I think it looks perfect as is now that you have painted, however I trust that whatever you decide will be total perfection. Oh and happy you got it done so quickly so the pups don't have to worry about their beds being moved! LOL! My dog had a nice new bed when I rescued him but he soon found his way to my bed and his bed is no longer in use! We rescued him from a terrible abuse situation and I have not had been able to deny his safety issues and one is sleeping with us. He was tortured for 2 years before he came into our lives and now he's my shadow as we go almost everywhere together and spend all day together. I wanted to tell you that you are my teacher because I love your art so much and I have purchased my first piece of furniture to paint and hopefully sell!!! It is an empire dresser and I am looking through pinterest and watching your video's trying too do the best work I can. I have purchased many colors from Annie Sloan. I live in a small town an I finally found someone who sells her paint and I had to get the colors that you often use first and week by week I stop by the store and end up buying more and more colors. I think I am addicted to her paint. I was using dixie belle prior to finding my local store that sells her paint. I like them both but I love hers! Again, sorry for the long comment! I say yes to wallpaper the inside of the bookcase....but, maybe placing the wallpaper onto foam board cut to size instead of glueing onto the wood. It would fit tight and you can change it up seasonally if you wanted.

Absolutely stunning - I love the Annie Sloan black! At first I thought it was a bold choice, but it really brings out the best in the trim work!

4 full days, what an amazing speed dear Christina, and what an amazing result, the living room turned out a simply beautiful bright airy space where more fluffy projects to come will accompany the fluffy brothers in return for their resilience 😉😄. The color scheme is simply wonderful. In fact the fluffy brothers were trying not just to cope but also to copy your husband's moves when he wanted to put away the carpet 😁😅😂😂💚.
