I forgot to mention how I hung them on the ceiling. I used flat tacks. I suggest getting some that match the color of your ceiling. Most likely white.

If you have Xmas Hogwart decoration ideas I would love to see DIY ideas. My Hogwart’s decorations I have used will stay up for Xmas too. So I’m putting away the creepy stuff and keeping the Hogwart’s stuff and making it xmasy!! Thanks for all your videos.

Awesome job! I made mine using the inside of an industrial aluminium roll - it was hell to cut, but I will have candles for years to come :)

Great idea!😃 I think it would be nicer if you would glue the candle on thick piece of cardboard (hot glue) and after drying/cooling down you can easily cut it around, so you‘ll have closed up the bottom without any paper pieces at the outside of the candle. I hope that makes sense... I‘m German and it‘s not so easy to explain in a different language.🤦🏼‍♀️😂 But I love the idea of using plastic pipes instead of toilet paper rolls. Looks much much prettier.👍🏼🤩

Lovely! I just have some advice for you: to make your candles look more realistic, you wait for your first coat of glue to dry, and then put another layer, or even 3, 4, 5 successive layers of glue (waiting the previous to dry everytime), so it looks like it's been lit several times ;)

Love the idea of using pvc pipe. To make hole you could use a hot darning needle also, fishing line from $ store to hang.

A tip to anyone interested: My go-to tool for anything that needs a melting/ melted look is a heat gun. Use a heat gun on a warm to hot setting and a slow air speed. Using the heat gun from above will help the glue drip down the sides, both from the air speed and the heat. It speeds up the process but still making the drips look real and natural. Just be sure to use a slow air speed, and don’t hold the heat gun too close to the object. Both will cause the glue to flatten while it’s dripping and won’t look natural. (You could also use a hairdryer or space heater if you don’t have a heat gun.) I do a lot of crafting and a heat gun has come in handy many many times. They are decently cheap and can be found at most hardware stores. (I got mine at Harbor Freight for $19.99).

I made some out of toilet paper rolls a few years ago and they got some wear and tear after a while. I didn't keep them up though - I took them down and boxed them and put them back up for parties. That might be why. Either way, the ones I make in this video will last much longer than cardboard ones.

Use a flame to heat the nail. Use pliers to hold it and melt the holes into it. And you can use fishing line from walmart.

I made mine using white cardboard from dollar tree instead of toilet paper roll or tubes. It was easier because I could form the tube exactly on the size of the candle. It looked great

Wrap the two string ends around the metal part of a clear pushpin and tack it tightly to the ceiling. Only way I could get mine to stay!

I used 3M Command hooks. No holes in your ceiling! Strong and easily removed without any damage. They come in so many styles and they work great. I used a clear tiny one. I used larger ones for hanging iridescent midnight blue fabric with tiny glitter to resemble the starry sky, then I added the candles. Also worked great for the flying envelopes coming out of the fireplace.

Wah too bad you uploaded after my son’s Harry Party birthday party. I made them together on one fishing line which by the way took forever to make. My plan was to make three strings of them but only had time for one. So since you hung them individually, my question is how did you hang them? Did you tie to a nail?

I used PVC pipe to make the candles last, which is what separates my video from others. I wasn't able to find a DIY for this on KZread using anything other than toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls. I really wish I could please everyone with every video I post, but I don't think that's possible.
