How to make the floating candles from Harry Potter, as seen in the Great Hall at Hogwarts. Using cardboard tubes, hot glue, fishing line, white paint and battery operated flicker candles, you can make any room magical for your next party. Note: Enchanted ceiling not included.

DIRECTIONS- FLOATING CANDLES (MAKES 4):
Supplies:
4 paper towel tubes
4 LED tea candles
Fishing line or black thread
White or off-white spray paint or acrylic paint and brush
Toothpick
Tape, Knife, Ruler, Pen, 2 pieces of cardboard
Hot Glue Gun and 5-6 glue sticks
Method:
1. Peel off any leftover paper towel.
2. If you want random sizes, cut to size with knife.
3. Using a spare piece of cardboard, draw and cut out circles for the bottom, glue to bottom.
4. Using a second spare piece of cardboard, cut 4 strips of cardboard to make the candle holder. Measure width and height of candle cut to size, glue into tube.
5. Using hot glue gun, dribble glue down the sides to mimic hot wax drips. CAUTION- Hot glue can burn, get supervision from parent, and be careful. Low setting is safer. Can do multiple layers or just one. Can also do single drips on side.
6. Poke a hole at the top on both sides for the string with a toothpick.
7. Paint with spray paint or brush on acrylic paint.
8. Thread string through holes and insert led candle.
9. Turn on LED candles and hang.
