I think there's one practical reason to have this...the slide won't go out of battery when pressed into bad guy's gut

You are right however they make an alternate device called a stand off device for that exact purpose it sits more flush with the frame and has serrations for grip against skin on the barrel end they really only make it for the compact models too
I have always been curious about this pistol. Thanks for showing it to us with the slide comp. I personally don’t really see a need for a comp on a 9mm pistol but would love to try it out. The install looks super easy and super secure. Too bad they don’t make these for CZ pistols. If you do have a HK pistol then you have to get one, because the cool factor is off the charts, especially with a flared magwell and extra capacity magazine. It would be like having a whole another gun without much of a layout of cash. The only problem I see is that all your friends would want to shot your pistol, which is the best part of having this pistol.
That break does make the gun look sick! I just wish the producers of John Wick stuck with that pistol as his primary sidearm throughout the trilogy, but thise who watched Parrabellum, know there will be a fourth as now that man is pissed, lol. I also laughed at your facial expressions when the plate fell off, lmao...

I may be wrong but it looked like it helped you stay on target for faster shooting. so in my opinion .... it helped? I like the expression when you broke the target. Great video my friend
I enjoyed your review, I was debating on getting it & now I definitely am. I like how the extra weight makes target acquisition quicker especially in competition shooting. As an old chef my knives are German Geisser-Messer heavy forged steel so heavy steel is good! I might even get a comp for my HK45C..still debating that might just put the $$$ towards another HK instead like a Mark 23!
That does look cool! I've had a P30 for a while. I just sold it to finally, get the Long Slide version. I'll be getting it soon! Can't wait to shoot it!
Yes much improved results. Bad ass Range gun, Dude that's Dope!!!
Love my vp9. I look at it some times and just admire it, I compare it to my m&p and the build quality is just head and shoulders above. And I really like my m&p. Those my two carry guns.

I have both of those guns as well. I currently can do better with my M&P9. It feels a little heavier and not as plastic. You can see both on my channel. I added the Parker Mountain Machine comp. I thought that this one was too bulky and just not plain ugly.

@x.adam1 . . . mine are bone stock, I like the m&p9, but for some reason, I shoot better groups with the vp9 idk if it's just mind over matter tho, because alot of these plastic fantastics are basicly the same gun with alittle different ergos. I actually have sworn to not buy anymore plastic guns, only metal frame guns for me from now on, with all the new metal striker fired guns out, they just feel better in my hand shooting.
love your vids man. one thing to mention is that it doubles as a stand-off device since it is frame mounted and prevents the slide from being pushed out of battery
Looks like it reduced muzzle flip a little, but also seemed to settle the muzzle down after the shot a little quicker as well.
The long slide kit and a red dot installed on a vp9 makes for a really accurate gun !
I just installed the rail mount comp on my USP 40. I haven’t taken it to the range yet, but I’m excited to see the results.
Really good and cool shooting . Keep it coming bro
The comp makes it look like the pistols Angelina carried in Tomb Raider which are the usp match pistols which now sell in gun broker for about 5 grand each
Have you tried the Long slide kit on the VP9? it makes the VP9 even more enjoyable to shoot.
I use the same compensator on my p30 and it without a doubt reduces the recoil by a significant amount. You just can't use cheap ammo and underpowered ammo like Winchester white and red box will cause jams.

Cool guns. I used to be a HK fanatic. Your USP 40 is 1998 build as per the date code "KI".
My p30l is chambered in 40 s&w. I needed a weapon and the 9mm variant was sold out at the time. This particular match weight is sold out on the hk parts site too. 😆 but I really want one now! Does a 9mm kick less than a .40?
I am eye balling a P30L right now. It's a good deal. Might just have to do it.
Get the gray guns reset kit for the firearm. Bruce Gray is a genius. I have the LEM version of the P30 and it turns it into a whole other beast!
I think I found my Christmas present!
Slowly pulling the trigger back to fire that fist double action shot it feels like 20 lb pull. However if you use one quick motion to pull it back in dbl action it is very light like single action. The 1st dbl action pull on this hk trigger needs speed to relieve the pull weight. Try it.
I wish the comp had the quick release latch like the match weight.
"Let me shoot this thing and then you tell me how it felt!"
I have been reading about this compensator in the forums of different websites. The people whom own it haven't been to kind. Does this thing mess with the guns rails or the shooting experience in anyway?
No, you tell us! You were shootin' the friggin thing. Was there more or less recoil or no difference?
@ronquixote1739
4 жыл бұрын
I can assure you it makes a difference. My P30L ran reliably (weak ejection but consistent) until I added this very same compensator. It was then a single shot pistol, unable to eject an empty casing regardless of ammo type used.

@@suomik1988 Same grip, better results after more shooting to loosen the recoil spring. My point above is that, yes, the comp does have an effect--weak ejection turned into no ejection when comp was added so the comp was reducing amount of gas available to push the slide back after firing. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lX55rayvqJqudrQ.html

@@MA22badger I use 115, 124, and 147. Until the recoil spring eased up the gun had issues with weak ejection. After about 200 rounds the ejection strength improved. The compensator does work as it turned weak ejection into no ejection until I"d passed the 200 round mark. Now it ejects fine with any weight ammo and with the compensator.
Badass ! I love my vp9
Or if you prefer you can get a match grade trigger kit for it which is I believe 3 Springs and a trigger shoe

still looking to trade?
Old video i know but for any newbies considering one and reading the comments of breaking the gun in. HK SPECIFICALLY SAYS to break the pistol in with minimum 124 grain for i forget how many rounds before switching to lighter grain loads. Some have tighter springs to break in than others. Mine however has run 115 and anything else from the start. Couldn’t find any heavy loads so just tried the 115s and never a hiccup.
Any chance that comp will mate up on a canik tp9sfx?
When you converted the 15rd mag, did you use the "baseplate" or did you just have the spring directly to the bottom of the extension body?
Isnt that compensator for the threaded barrel? How you equiped it when your p30l isn't a threaded barrell?
What size of alan head did you use to install the comp?
Youre a lucky bastard. I have HK tastes on a .22 Cricket budget. Love the video thank very much.

It didn't fit on the vp9 because the model you had was not a VP9L. Otherwise it looked like you shot faster and hit more often and was easier to control (less muzzle rise) with the comp on.
I'm assuming, based on the ports top-side of the compensator, that it is a Gen 1 comp?

Yes, this happens to me also and is a result of my right hand thumb riding on top of the long slide release when using a thumbs forward grip, and is apparently a very common issue. If I am conscious of placing my right thumb over the first knuckle of my left thumb (and not against the frame) it doesn't occur. Interestingly, if you look in the operations manual, there is an illustration demonstrating a thumbs down grip (much like one would use when gripping a revolver), which would preclude this problem from occurring-makes me wonder if this is the preferred method in Germany.
