Hitler's Downfall and Unconditional Surrender | Countdown to Surrender - The Last 100 Days | Ep. 3

Ойын-сауық

On April 16, 1945, the Red Army begins the attack on Berlin. Its generals accept heavy losses. In the west, the British and Americans liberated the first concentration camps of the second World War.
They find piles of corpses and emaciated prisoners. Hundreds of thousands of Wehrmacht soldiers surrender. Churchill does not want to leave Berlin to Stalin, but Eisenhower decides against it. He feared that German units might entrench themselves in the Alps. Hitler has finally realized that the war - the Second World War - is lost. Only Goebbels remains in the Führerbunker with his family. Hitler commits suicide with his wife Eva Braun on April 30. The Goebbels family did not survive the downfall either. It is up to the executors around Grand Admiral Dönitz to declare unconditional surrender. The Second World War in Europe ends on May 8.

KZread is doing a disservice to youngsters who want to learn by blurring and sanitising. These 1940s films and photos were taken for a reason, so that we never forget.

In a courtroom David Irving said, “if the soldiers that stormed the Normandy beaches in June 1944 could see England as it is today they wouldn’t have gone 40 yards up that beach”.

I don’t consider punishment of the German people was the most important lesson here. They were human beings the same as all others and therefore under the same conditions, we could all sink to the same depravity. We need to learn as humans never to lose our humanity and always show kindness. Stop preying to a god above and understand we, all of mankind together and how we treat each other as decent humane people, that is god. Us.

I wonder: instead of Streicher, Himmler, Goebbels &c. being the closest henchmen and delegates, those who created and or actioned policies, it had been Rohm and crew. Whether Germany might have prevailed. Not least because it could have been more inclusive. With some origin in plight of German working classes. Rather than racial nationalism and such like being the means, the rationale to a national resurgence. Anyway it's said that Berlin is becoming more and more like Bagdad by the day.

Actually, Germany never surrendered in accordance with international law. Admiral Doenitz, the head of state of Germany at the time did not sign the surrender. It was signed by Field Marshal Keitel, who was not an elected representative of the German people nor a member of the German government. In short the Army surrendered but not the government.

Always the blame goes to the masses who drew a blind eye to what was really going on. I am convinced that the masses are good people but not to intelligent because they’ve allowed others to think for them bu5 their not to blame of all of the horrors that have been going on. Who needs to be held accountable the ones who got fooled or the ones doing the fooling. But they own this rock so we’re inhabiting their place so that’s the way it is.
