I use a capo on the 4th fret when playing this song. I asked my friend “is this cheating?” His reply “playing the guitar isn’t a competition.”

slow dancing is the easiest song to learn bc it has only 4 chords, but also the hardest to get right

yeah for sure man. that's pretty typical for most blues as well. Santana songs are kinda similar in that sense. Nailing the accents, timing, and bend intonation is what makes simple blues songs extremely difficult to master.

Just recently bought a new fender American pro tele. Took me hours to decide on an American strat or tele. Even played a G&L legacy that I think was better than the strat and 500 bucks. American strat next on the list. All that being said middle position in the tele sounds sweet for this song

A Jan Ray clone (clone of a clone) and a Tumnus gets me close (both set like 9 o’clock gain and volume to taste). EQ after ODs mid scooped (I really think this scoop is necessary to get a fender to sound close to JMs tone - makes it clearer and less muddy). Single delay (so short it doesn’t really matter what you pay for it). I’m through a Princeton w/12” canabis Rex. Tone is like 40%. The rest is hard work and your wife telling you, “that song again?” My favorite song to play, no lie. Good luck!
