Don't forget csculle! He was the other north American dude! He made what people call the dream portal, and also the Illumina tower, a shame they got misnamed, this guy is a legend and recently took the 1.7 record from illumina, after a year of his record reigning, the two pioneers of North American mc speedrunning hold the two top records for 1.7, how cool is that!

I want to be clear about one of the bigger reasons for the 1.9 split - stronghold distance! In 1.9+ the stronghold is around 2.5 times further from the origin on average. Furthermore, until recently we only knew how to do the 1.9+ dragon fight in ways which were slower than old versions, so that factored into the decision.

Ohh, that's really cool! I think there should also be an Undertale speedrun category that involves getting every ending, like, all 93 of them! Because I don't think many people have done it, it would be cool to see more people do it.

On the Undertale Category Extensions leaderboard, there's a True 100% category, which requires getting all 93 endings, collecting every item, and a few other things. Several people have attempted it, but there's only ever been one successful run that didn't miss anything. The time estimate is 27-30 hours for the whole thing, and that's with heavy usage of glitches.

@@Evernight1 But the damage of the mobs, their life, and nowadays there is no problem with endermans, you can get ender pearl with piglins or you can just go to the warp forest.

This was fascinating to watch. Interesting how everyone was from Japan at the start, and how Korbanoes, this guy I had never heard of, managed to beat everyone else by such a high margin of 2 minutes.. I better look into this topic more..

Alot of people are saying he faked the run because of how he just came out if nowhere. Even tho he didn’t stream it. The reason why Speedrun.com accepted his run is because he is a trusted member of Speedrun.com. He does other games and has held the world record for several game records(I think).

woAH i used to watch petezahut all the time its cool to see he did some speed running, also this was the best visualized nonsense videos i've seen. i can't imagine how much work you actually put into this compared to other people who do the same. there was so much detail and stuff going on i wasn't bored watching this video in the slightest as there was so much to take in. this was an enjoyable video

From the rules: Video Rules -You must include a video of your run -Start the video before opening the Create World screen -End the video after the run is completed -Either the title screen or the F3 menu must be shown before or after the run -The video must not be private -The video must not be temporary (such as Twitch past broadcasts) also: -World Record times in this category are required to provide a download link to the world save file the run was performed on in the submission comments. For 1.16+, times under 20 minutes are also required to. having less strict restrictions has resulted in people cheating in the past, hence why there are so many rules in place.

Me in Day 1: Got iron tools, made very basic shelter, get food, get a bed. Illumina in Day 1: "Illumina has unlocked the advancement [Free the End].

The fact that illumina has started to dominate the leaderboards in Minecraft speedruns since 2016 till now

I'm glad Dream didn't beat the Minecraft Speedrun Record yet. I've always hated him since he voted in that glowsquid...

It's so crazy to me that like 2 months ago sub20 was an impossible dream, and Sizzler's sub20 was an absolutely legendary run. Now nearly every top runner has one, and sub15 has been accomplished.

update : after korbanoes 1456 , there is couriway 1436 then reignex and zylenox tied 1410 then if im not wrong illumina 1357 , then TwoLetterName 1209 , then fe666 1150 then theesizzler 1107 and finally after all that , the most historical time barrier in all of minecraft RSG , Brentilda got a 938 , a SUB TEN

Can we just take a moment to appreciate carykh? He made this amazing visualization and manually sat through tens of of hours of speedruns just to get time stamps on when the speedrunners entered the nether portal and end

I wouldn't really say that Korbanoes, Dimeax, and Benex are the top mc speedrunners, and sadly, Korb's triple crown possibility is kinda gone for now with Couriways new 1.14 run.

By the way, there's a bit of controversy going on right now in the speedrunning community! Dream's speedruns might be purged from the leaderboard, since there's evidence he may have cheated. As you can imagine this is causing quite a lot of drama in the speedrunning community. I don't want that drama to spread over here, but I think it's worth bringing this up, because if there's hard, concrete proof that he cheated, then that mean that ALL of his minecraft speedruns, world record or not, are invalid and would be purged from the leaderboard. My question is, if his runs end up getting purged, then what would a video like this look like after that? Would we keep his records up there, and then just take them down when they're removed from the leaderboard? Or would we never put them up there in the first place, since those runs were invalidated?

A channel who might be able to give info on speedruns like Summoning Salt! I'll watch that!
