Sabaton is my hands down favorite band. I am a metal head and a war history buff. So they're a perfect fit. I highly suggest listening to the song "Sparta."

I really love just reading about WWI in general. Something about the fact that the entire war was pretty much fought with entirely new technologies that their users had pretty much never used before, it was one of the first wars to use magazine fed firearms, the first to use mechanized troops (tanks and cars), the first to use airplanes (and not to a very good effect), yet also one fought with very primitive weapons (clubs, bayonets, etc) and also having any advance into enemy territory completely halted because of the mix of new and old.

As a Swede, I don't understand the request for non-swedish speakers to react to a swedish song? Especially when they have an identical version in english (A Lifetime Of War). I know the lyrics on this song differs between the versions but I feel they would get more out of it if they understood everything right away and not sitting there clueless to what they're singing about.

I’m so excited for this album, I saw the track list, and one of the songs is Devil Dogs. The song is undoubtedly going to be about the US marines in the battle of the Marne where the Germans gave them the nickname devil dogs. My great grandfather was one such marine and came away from the battle with three Purple Hearts.

The reason the casualties were so high is that it was the point of the battle. The Imperial German High Command's aim was to bleed France white. They almost did it, but they forgot one thing, they were doing the same to themselves. French honour was upheld, and this music video and song is a very very fitting tribute.

If you want something similarly bombastic to react to, I wholeheartedly recommend Powerwolf - "Army Of The Night"! For more Sabaton, I'd say "40:1" or "Primo Victoria" live at Woodstock (2012). As awesome as they are on albums, seeing them live is 100% the best way to see them. They are spectacular in person! (Also, catch them on tour later this year with Hammerfall!) Oh... And you should definitely check out their "Sabaton History" channel, even if it's not for this channel, it's super worth it!

Hey Alex, just stumbled onto your videos recently and am loving them so far. This will probably just get lost in the comments but if you want some real unique sounds I would suggest the Hu, both Yuve Yuve Yu and Wolf Totem are worth a listen. By far one of the most distinctive sounds I have heard from a band in pretty much ever. And if that isn't enough of a hook, two words... Mongolian Folkmetal. Keep up the good work, it is always awesome to see someone exploring the wonderful world of music.
