Ha! Not quite that bad but even at the end of the 60s we had no idea, for example, that red/green/yellow peppers existed while garlic was to be viewed with the deepest of suspicion. Every time we see a mediterranean fruit/veg stall we’re reminded of that “What the f…?” moment we first encountered one!

Keith Harris is buried in St John's churchyard in Poulton le Fylde , directly behind my mums grave . There is a picture of Orville on his headstone.

Hi Guys. What a hassle trying to get to an air hose! What was that man doing? Anyway - had a thought. You can buy small 12volt air pumps to pump up car tyres. You could power it from your battery box. That would free you from the tyranny of service station visits - but then again, you would miss out on some drama for the videos. Hmmm. Looking forward to Day 2 of the trip hopefully visiting new markets and restaurants. What great choices are available to you living in the wonderful Riviera.

9:00 Here is a hint about tire pressure. If you increase it above what it says on the sticker you will get incresed fuel/electricity economy, at the cost of corner grip and brake distance.

I started to watch this, and then I decided to watch it properly because it seems a great little road trip. So, made it all comfy, got a cup of tea, and started again with it on full screen. Awesome content folks. Hope to be back in Europe soon filming my own stuff. Would love to have a drive of the Ami and review it.

Bit of good advice guys buy a manual foot pump to pump up your tyres , no charge and all it takes is a little effort lol Reason I mention it is here in the UK it costs £2 now to use an automatic air compressor so no thanks as money don't grow on trees.

I enjoyed the video. We got a tyre inflator for about €20 that plugs into the 12v socket for our Twizy. We carry that along with a can of puncture repair foam. Looking forward to the next episode.

0914. Can you get nitrogen instead of air there for tyres? We do here and as the molecules are bigger than plain air it doesnt leak out the valves. Ive had it here for a few years now and it works really well. You get a teal metallic green cap on the valve to show its nitrogen fyi… lol I know nothing about a brothel! As per Sgt Shultze…😊😊😊😊

We still get fish n chips cooked in beef dripping here in Yorkshire,can't beat it

LOL! thought we'd never get there, but the arrival in 1967 and the California hotel room were worth the long slog. (Space Shuttles aside, Elon can definitely get a rocket from the ground to space in less time than it takes that the poor old bloke took to air-up). And that 50 euro lunch Uncle Klaus would jail you for, seemed like a bargain after the $20 I just spent for two tacos and scoop of rice at a local taco stand. Thanks again for delivering a charge, until the next untold story!

@@MeandMonAmi When it was a kid my dad and his cowboy actor buddy Slim Pickens were doing a gig for Disney in Hollywood, I can remember staying in a Hollywood hotel it was exactly like that, complete with the same vertical pink stripes, red phone, Mid-century Pole lamp and the same orange chair seen at 31:15. The manager rudely and refused to let Slim park his horse trailer in the hotel parking lot, when my mother remarked how much she liked the same orange chairs Slim said: "Pauline, you like them chairs? How many you want? I'll get ya some!" A few days later when we checked out Slim all the bellhop with trolley the move a giant suitcase he used in rodeo clown act. As the bellhop was struggling to get it on the trolley, he asked, "Mr. Pickens, what you have in that suitcase, it's very heavy?" Slim laughed and said: "Well, I took four of them orange hippie chairs apart and stuffed them in there!..." My mother bolted. "No! Slim, you didn't!" Slim puffed up, smiled and proclaimed: "Well, I damned sure did! you said you liked em! So I got two of em for you, and two to take home to Maggie". My mother demanded: "Slim give them back right now, I never asked you to steal for me!", Slim laughed: "Well Pauline, I don't see it as steeling, seein's how much they charge for this striped jail cell ,and all that shit the manager gave me over my horse trailer! I figured those chairs sort of makes up for all theBS!". Slim then turned to the Bell Hop: "You understand don't ya? You don't mind do ya?". The Bell Hop laughed and said: "Mr. Pickens you're funny in real life too" I set on that chair for over the next decade doing homework and building model airplanes, and seeing it and that hotel room was a delightful bit of déjà vu.

I think that hotel room is what you'd call a Tangerine Dream.

Also I was saying that if you ever get to Marseille, you should stay in the hotel in Le Corbusier's Unite d'Habitation and you never know I might be in St Remy then? I saw the blinking cat at 14:26 and want to say that "hazzard lights" on a driving or parked car is called "Give me a ticket party lights", folk often turn them on when they know they do something illegal and as fast a police see them they can give the driver a ticket, if you want to park illegal on a sidewalk or drive on pedestrian way or so you should not try to get attention by looking like a rolling strip club :D
