    @@royblackman8778 what looks like an invalid carriage? This specific Citroën Ami, or Citroën Ami in general, or something else? And in what way? I think the Citroën Ami is a nice car. It doesn't go fast, and it can only carry one passenger. Regular cars can do a lot more, but if what the Ami can do is enough, I think it's a great option. I'm considering getting an EV of this class in a few years. I think the Ami could be (almost) perfect for what I want. Except Citroën decided to not sell Ami in Norway, because they aren't confident about using it in the winter. I have three concerns, possibly preventing me from choosing the Ami, even if they were for sale. 1. Primary winter issue is, it will shut down if battery gets too cold 2. Secondary winter issue is defogging and heater, (I'm looking forward to videos about installing a combustion heater) 3. Not too enthusiastic about the tethered scuko plug for charging. Not a significant issue, but I could go on for pages about why a Type2 input socket is so much better.

    Dear Reader, This is a pleasant surprise. Selling cars isn't about cars, it's about people. The moment a person in an organisation has the courage to treat a customer as real person, with arguments and feelings, the whole deal is already done. So now Mr 'My Ami Vice' has a reason to be proud about his car, because he has been heard and his arguments taken seriously. Well done; for both parties. I wish him and his Ami a pleasant and 'friendly' cooperation. With Kind Regards, Michel F. van den Brun unemployed 50-plus ex public affairs strategist

    I've gone through hell with Citroen; rejected, waited months, received a poorly built replacement had several issues and after 7 months of fighting I was offered £750 compensation! I rejected this and still waiting for my money back! I'm being too nice! Best wishes Anthony :-)

    A very positive vibe to the video, it is very noticeable how you are bombing around in it without a massive long queue behind you too. I have taken a long time to realise that car makers sell us an illusion. I sat and thought to myself how many hours of my life I had been delayed due to being stuck in snow or mud, I have been driving over 40 years and I believe in that time I have lost under 20 minutes TOTAL due to being stuck with no traction. I have just bought an AWD car though. In a similar fashion your video shows that a car that can only do 28mph is actually fine in the environment where you are using it.

    yep, im of the same opinion, but when you look at it from a different perspective like, how many hours have I lost through not being able to find a parking space, queuing up at the fuel station etc, the Ami is brilliant, people have a hard time catching me in the city

    Ive found a clever way to get into EVs and cover your own back , buy an 8 year old Renault Zoe with battery lease of £50 a month , that way if the battery fails Renault will replace it and its a much faster car with 140 miles of range , seems a lot better than the Ami for me anyway as i like to drive longer journeys and the best thing is charging is only like £5 for a full charge at a fast charging station

    There is a short period of 30 days during which the consumer is entitled to reject the goods. If the consumer asks for repair or replacement during this time, so that the consumer has the remainder of the 30-day period or 7 days (whichever is longer) to check whether the repair or replacement has been successful and to decide whether to reject the goods within. When a consumer rejects goods, he or she is entitled to claim a refund. This would either be a full refund, or in the case of hire, a refund for any part of the hire that was paid for but not supplied. A refund must be given without undue delay and within 14 days of the trader agreeing that the consumer is entitled to a refund.

    One thing I don't like about the Ami, is the tethered schuko. Primarily because the car won't get the control signal from the charging station to reduce charging power. If the charging station sends a signal to restrict charging to 6 A ( 1.3-1.4 kW); when using an adapter the Ami wouldn't know, and still charge at 2 kW (about 9A), thats about 50% overload. I think it would be nice if there were at least a manual setting for slow charging at max 6A. I wonder if it's possible to trick the Ami to charge slowly. Either modifying the charge controller, or to manipulate sensor some signals to the controller to make it charge slower.

    There is no issue with charging, you're just looking for problems.

    @@ziggarillo Well Then try to charge from a type2 station that tries to signal to the car "max 6A". Sure it's not an issue when you return to drive, then realize that the charging station shut down, because the Ami tried to charge at 9A. Then try to use the Ami in cold weather, and charge when the battery is colder than -5 °C. Sure it's not an issue when you return to drive and the battery has the same state of charge as when you left it. I've been driving EV's from more than 8 years. I have a decent understanding about what's important and not. Having reliable charging is amongst the important things. If you get out to drive in the morning, and realize you don't have enough charge for the day, and to get to work on time, you should have been on the bus that left 20 minutes ago. Maybe that isn't an issue to you, but it is to me. I have been very interested in the Ami, but I have switche from: "I want one!" to "I want to want one, but..." I don't mind the speed, nor the power, it would be perfect for the use, except if I cant charge reliably, that's a deal breaker. Doesn't make it easier that Citroën has decided not to launch Ami in Norway, allegedly because it is unsuitable during our winter.

    @@ziggarillo I just remembered another thing, related to charging. When you are leaving on a rainy day. You are forced to stand in the rain, with the door open, while you tog the tethered cable into the hole in the door frame. Then the "powerful" heater has to work with all the added moisture while defogging the windows. But, there's no issue with charging. I'm just looking for problems.

  • @ziggarillo

    @ziggarillo

    @thorbjrnhellehaven5766 I have used a type 2 station, it worked fine. We don't have -5c weather here that often, certainly didn't happen last winter, we don't have proper winters anymore. I haven't seen proper snow here for about 10 years. Haven't come across any issue with getting wet when putting back the cable. I just put it on the passenger seat until I can find a dry opportunity, or my wife puts it away whilst sitting inside the car on the passenger seat. I have a heater I can run off my portable power station, I've yet to need it. You're desperately looking for problems, that as an owner of one I don't have.
