The thing with Izal apparently (I learned this years later) is you were supposed to crumple it up to soften it up before using (and to make it at least slightly absorbent). I had a mate who worked for a local authority and he said the Izal in the staff toilets had the H.M.Government monogram on each sheet. Great episode. Laugh a minute!

Thank goodness for an upcoming second installment - so you have then survived. Oh, la vache! I haven't laughed this often, long, and hard for ages and ages. I commend your patience in these "struggles", and your ever-present wit and good humor. You truly are my favorites of all time. Truth! (And may I now be so self-indulgent as to send a special "shout out" to Mr. Boo..... About a month+ ago, after turning a corner and running into you unexpectedly at La Reale - and acting like the gushing super fan that I am - and then some days later seeing you at Chez Betty. I've been so disappointed in myself and my shyness at not waving to you there and saying Hi - thinking "oh, I wouldn't expect you to recognize me, altho it seemed you just maybe might have. I had hoped I'd see you both again sometime around la petite ville and I could buy us all a drink and even dinner if I could be so lucky, but alas no such luck. Long story short: I kick myself for not at least waving to you then, Boo. So, now each and every time I watch you here I say "Hi, Mr. Boo and I give you a wave". Whew! now with this, my silliness, off my mind - I can tell you again how much I adore, as in love, love all your posts. Can hardly wait to see your next post. And will so hope we can meet again within the next year, at Chez Betty, where Alexi and Rita were so welcoming to me as I had a room there for some nights and enjoyed my coffee and beer there watching the world go by, as often as I was able. Yes, Yes, I've just decided "It Must Be Done!" (iF you will 'have' me)! Ha! And if and when I see you both in person - I'll bring boxes and boxes of your favorite teas, promise. Izal bog roll. In the forces we got Izal bog roll that had "Government Property" printed on every sheet. I think it was to deter theft but who would want to steal Izal? Brilliant video, it really made me laugh. I'm looking forward to next. week.

Ha ha ha haha....I haven't laughed so much in ages...sorry for my indulgence in schadenfreude, but this was truly the funniest video I've seen in a long time! Can't tell you how many times I have been lost in campsites even coming back from the loo, or realized I had forgotten an important piece of equipment like a can opener or a mallet or even a raincoat (had to walk around in a garbage bag bought at the camp office with holes cut out !), watched folks do strange things in and by the pool (oo la la), or been irritated by the nylon sleeping bags! "Kieff...I think there's a chihuahua in my sleeping bag" LoL! Priceless! Thanks for the hilarity Tim and Mr. Boo! At least your tent was on flat ground when the rains fell...I once drove 6 hrs to a campsite only to have the heaven's open up with torrential rains on my campsite located at the bottom of a hill! Dogs soaked, tent and sleeping bags soaked all in a matter of 45 minutes. Packed up immediately after the rain stopped and drove back home the same day ..with soggy doggy's and a miserable spouse! lol Once in N. Dakota (The Blackhills, USA), I woke up at 3am to spend a penny, and found myself in the middle of a rather large buffalo herd on the way!

Brilliant! I’d no idea what I’d got into and sadly I think I have!

It makes me want to go on holiday right away! In exactly seven weeks' time, I'll be sitting at the breakfast table with my wife in the south of Slovenia. The Karawanken tunnel is just around the corner and the next stop is Serbia, before arriving in Greece after another overnight stay. Then we'll finally see our children again, who flew ahead two weeks earlier. But I'm at least as excited about folding the tent in the next instalment! ► 17:21 ◄ Ein Bembel aus Frankfurt! "There's a chihuahua in my sleeping bag"... You hum it son, I'll sing it. LOL Great video. The last time I went camping, self inflated air beds didn't exist; so that dates it a bit. Hope you didn't get too attacked by the mozzies. Now the weather has turned nice we had a few up here in the Essonne last night.

You should always take a Cork Screw with you. Then you have a hand drill for holes for pegs. I thought all Alcoholics knew that, or is it just me!? Thermal Sleeping Bags are great. Another very Good Episode. I can't wait for the second part.🧸🧸🐶🚙

Oh gosh, what a cliff hanger. Quite some amazing shots of the lighting! It reminds me of some episodes I had while camping as a child. It takes a lot of careful attention to set up a tent correctly to withstand a storm. I hope the evening wasn't traumatizing. The campground looks like a very lovely place.

The last site I visited in Brittany had a nudist beach as well as WW2 coastal defence bunkers at each end of said beach... These had been painted pink !!

So Funny. Recalls our camping days . Its when you spend ages getting tent ready then go to bed...Then need to go to toilet..

I feel for you guys being caught in a summer storm but most people don’t want to camp… what they really mean is glamping! Rent a nice little cabin in the woods as a getaway, with all the amenities while being able to enjoy the solitude of nature. That’s what they want, the convenience and none of the fuss of hoofing it. The ideal way to spend a summer vacation! Hope you enjoyed yours despite the freaky weather. 😊

I knew this was going to be a super fun episode, the part where you got lost in the campsite is absolutely hilarious lol Sometimes camping can be a paradise or a disaster, but that's normal for the first time. Even so, I don't think I would even manage to set up the tent, and with that stormy night, it would be even worse.
