    I have a KV8102-IM and a KH8300-T. Hik-connect for IOS does not let me add the door station. “Device cannot be added”. Device is on line and works great while I’m in my network. Device is connected to my NVR for recording. When I’m home, I get a notification “hik-connect video” and I’m able to exchange audio and picture. But as soon as I leave the house it won’t notify me. All versions are up to date. I need the door station to notify my iPhone when I’m away from my house and someone rings the doorbell. Any suggestion?

    From my experience, you need to adjust the setting in your router or talk to your internet service provider.

    I've been fiddling with my device today, first time, it's mostly a feature, not a bug, that you can only connect from inside your network, your building etc. In other cameras remote access is the key feature, but not with many Hikvision models. If you really really want to connect from the general internet, you need indeed to do some not so simple magic with routing. The only way to avoid routing is to have everything in the house exposed to the "real internet", then indeed there's no more "leave the house", the world becomes your house. Which is probably undesirable!
