You are a savior man it worked like a charm! You saved me from paying 50$ to the technician just for visit only! and who knows how much he will ask for the configuration, which I'm sure is not less than 30$.

Hi, love you simple directions. Naturally, one doesn't regularly play around configurations in the system, so it's easy to forget basics (especially as one gets old😏). So, to my questions; can you please provide an easy step by step instruction on 1) how to add another mobile phone, iPad, PC or smart TV once downloaded the app and 2) how do I review footage of security cameras on the monitor attached to the DVR (is it the same as NVR?)? I have been able to playback the footage on both my iPad and mobile phone, but not the DVR. Can you please assist? Thank you, Frank

Great help, thanks for the tutorial. I have found out that you can use the secondary camera stream for the intercom so the main stream can still use H265+ encoding. However, I really dislike that I have to disable encryption key in HikConnect platform access settings. This is a blocker for me. I hope this is something that could be supported in the future firmware versions.

Would this mean the NVR storage gets filled twice as fast because all cameras must be h.264. Any idea if Hikvision will add h.265 support with a firmware update? Nice video Thx.

Both of the switches are connected by the way. I struggle with ipv4 and what to add in port as its currently 554. I will appreciate your help, thanks

Good info, thanks for that. What about the other way around, can we add the intercom to the nvr in order to set up some recording and or motion recording? If so, would we still have the intercom powered from Poe switch, or go direct to nvr. I read somewhere that we should not connect this straight to nvr but seeing conflicting information.

You can add an intercom door panel (outdoor station) stream to NVR or even to XVR. It is not necessary to connect the panel to the PoE Switch, and its necessary to doesnt connect it directly in NVRs PoE ports, cause it wont work at all). Outdoor station must be added to NVR/XVR via IP address and Hikvision server port (by default its 8000). Even motion detection and audio microphone will works fine. Tested on many sites by myself

Is it possible to keep the live view without time limit to use it as dedicated monitor? If so, will it dim the light on the screen after some time? (Im asking because Im interested on using it as baby monitor)

Only if you use the new Android indoor stations .Even if it was possible you can only view one camera at one time which would not be exactly what you want to use it as a CCTV monitor

Default port is RTSP 554. Channel vary on what you want connect to. XVR/NVR - number of channel number you want to see). Single IP Camera - channel number 1

Hello thanks for the video, now I like to know if its possible to pop up the camera screen automatically when there is a movement/event active, like of there is arriving a person in your backyard or so ? (I have a camera that has an alarm output port) This would be a nice feature! Thanks

Indoor station monitor have a pins for alarm inputs, but seems them reserved for GAS/Smoke/MotionDetect sensors. So, basically, you can connect your camera output with indoor station input and have motion notifications and alarm output trigers working. But only in ARM mode

Ive just received one of these to use as a local screen to view my cameras on my hikvsion NVR. Does this unit need to be plugged directly into there NVR for this to work or can i have it plugged into a POE injector connected to my local network? I have my cameras connected to the inbuilt POE ports so they're on a different subnet, will this still work by just adding the ip of my NVR? I did try the steps adding the NVR with this power by an injector and i get the error 'Live view failed. Connection exception occured' Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Nope. If you are using Hik-Connect (which higly recommended), then on the same wi-fi with intecom click plus button "add device" -> Online devices->"Add your intercom"
