Hiking Scotland's BEST small hill (amazing views)

In my opinion, Conic Hill in Balmaha is one of Scotland's BEST small hills (if not the best) with amazing views over Loch Lomond. We also had a cracking day for it, although clearly we aren't used to warm weather like this haha. It was probably in the high 20s but with no breeze and high humidity. If you enjoy hiking, Scottish banter and want to get outdoors in Scotland more - I would recommend this walk!

I'm only drinking water when one of you mentions how warm it is. One has to drink water in the heat and alcohol makes the heat worse. I don't think you lot in Scotland quite know how to handle the warmer weather!

@@amberhiggins6327 We get it every year :) but not for long. And our houses are built to keep the heat in/we don't have a/c so it's normally hard to be inside in hot weather here. All we can do is drink plenty of water and try and stay as cool as we can, but the UK isn't built for it and we aren't used to it.

I remember i didn't do much walking a few years ago, but done lots of cycling and my friends invited me out to walk Conic Hill. I thought because i done lots of cycling, i'd smash it. But the hill gets pretty savage at the stairs and i realised hill walking and cycling use totally different muscles. I thought i was gonna die haha! I've done it about 20+ times now and it's great, especially for a work out with some views but i think Ben A'an is my favourite wee Scottish Hill. The views are just as good, similar height but i feel Ben A'an is a wee bit more fun as some of the bits are a lot more tricky and it feels more like a proper hill, where as Conic is less "raw"

Yeah I understand about heat and not being used to it and all. My father from Scotland had to wear a long sleeve shirt on sunny days when he was in the states. One bit of helpfull advice, if you are visiting a hot and arid place stay well hydrated. I've lived in hot and humid places and hot and arid places and I know from experience that you can get Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke really quick in hot and arid environments. That hot dry air bakes you like a low oven.

Conic Hill is great because of all the small islands at the end of Loch Lomond. A bit like Loch Maree. I have four more for you. Stac Pollaidh because of its crazy shape and because I was once blown off it. Benachie because of the tune Back o'Benachie. Eildon Hills which has various tunes and poems. Sgurr an Albanaich. I had to check the spelling against the posting on my Instagram because my Gaelic spelling is somewhat shocking. No bragging rights because I have only got to the top of one of these four. Wait what is going on in Scotland? I was under the impression that Scotland doesn't get summer weather being so far north and all. This warmer weather is part of a global warm trend. In the north western United States. the weather is getting up 120 Fahrenheit; which is 48.89 Celsius. There has been roads that have buckled in the heat that's how bad its been. So for a place like Scotland to get hot summer weather, it's a global warming nightmare. Each year is breaking recorders around the world in how hot it's getting. I fear the worst is yet to come. I Did enjoy the video though. I always love the hiking videos. Though I have to say: you and Amy have had it to easy with all the colder weather in Scotland that the both of you can't handle hot weather. Better get use to it fast because more of is coming everywhere in the world. Also, when you walk in heat you keep getting sweatier the more you walk, so it no shock that you got sweatier coming down form the hill. I can see people in Scotland are not use to hot weather.😆

I probably shouldn’t watch this video of you breathing hard going up the hill while I’m struggling on the elliptical. It’s not as motivational as one might think. Hot, you don’t know hot. Let me tell you. One year it was so hot that my mom baked my birthday cake by mixing the batter, pouring it into a pan and leaving it on the kitchen table through dinner. By the time we’d finished eating, the cake was perfectly baked. And I didn’t even have candles because they kept melting. True story.
