Easy Mountain Hike for Beginners ? Only in benign conditions !

A Easy Mountain Hike for Beginners ?
Playlist of easier mountains in Scotland: • Easier Hikes for Begin...
The short distance and relatively high start point may suggest this as a possible good mountain for beginners in summer conditions. If you don't mind some short steep steps and getting your hands on the rock once or twice, this is an ideal mountain for a short day or to take someone who is looking to start hill walking. Please note that this hike is a different proposition in the winter or under snow with some serious run outs if the mountain is covered in snow!

This genre of video is a gold mine ...not only for beginners ...but for individuals like myself in their 70+ years. Many of us didn't have the means, or the, access in the 50's and 60's for various reasons...including emigrating. Now we have the time and the aptitude with some legs left we aspire to come back to fulfill some of our ticks on the bucket list. Murray please continue. And Thank You for a wonderful video.

    - Third video in a row touting ‘second breakfast’. That’s quickly becoming a trademark! 😆 - great to see the young man out with you again. Looks like some additional hiking poles might be showing up soon at the Wilkie house! - I really liked the first piece to camera at a little past the one minute mark, with the focus centered on the backpacks. It gave the background mountains a dreamy quality. ATB

Hasn't the weather been absolutely amazing for views ! Just did a very elongated version of the west highland, spent 12 days and did a lot of climbs along the way getting spectacular views from every summit, just fantastic to be out there again on my own completely switching off. Thank you for this video! I did this same hike, north ridge of Beinn an Lochan, back in 2010, also in May - it snowed a bit! I've set myself a personal challenge to wild camp all UK National Parks this year (for no reason other than just because I want to). Great video - Love all your videos! I think we may consider trying this one in a few weeks as we are coming over from the states to visit Scotland in a few weeks. We are hiking Bidean Nam Bian (I've done that one before), Suiliven, and probably Stac Pollaidh. Would you possibly recommend a few more hikes? We are looking for some epic hikes Scotland is known for without intense exposure similar to Bidean which was a real challenge but never felt too scary. An Teallach, Cullin Ridge, and Ring of Steall sound a little beyond us with Aonach Eagach a for sure NO. Anyway - if you have a couple recommendations similar to Suilven or Bidean that would be great - thank you.

I nearly died on this hill last year (day before lockdown started) in March 2020, thinking the snow wouldn't be too bad. No ice axe or crampons. I stupidly kept going through the section at 4:20 following old footsteps and realised I had no option but to go the whole way to the top as downclimbing would have been fatal. I then slowly clambered up the second big snowfield to the summit, by which point I was in the clear. Again one slip could have been death. Learned my lesson!

I enjoyed this vlog with some stunning photography and views - but I was screaming with frustration at the screen, because you did not name the mountain in the title, description or even in the vlog, until you arrived at the summit. Torture indeed! I climbed it in the 1970s when it was still a listed summit, but my Munro days are long over.
