It obviously was stupid of him to offer that deal, unless he just really liked David or felt badly for him. But if you make the difficult call with top 2 there, you don’t let the guy out of 600 for 43. You run it two or three times and maybe David gets a piece back. But from a poker perspective, it was terrible for himself to offer that.

@@robertacierno2803 it is not "stupid" of him to offer the deal because his intent was to be a nice guy and just give David a break. He knew he was the big favorite to win, he just wanted to be a nice guy, nothing wrong with that. Guy is a billionaire, from his perspective this is a friendly casual game, this is no where near high stakes for him.

@@looper6394 no. Guy is/was a billionaire at this time. He knew DB was in over his head at 600k in that pot. 600k to Guy is lunch at mcds. 600k to DB is a 10th of his net worth

Negreanu said years later some guys did play with their entire bank roll in this game. I reckon you can tell by Benyamine's face that it was his actual life in that last pot.

He didnt play with all of his money because at this time benyamine already won millions but 600k would have hurt him a lot. Also he probably had 20 or 30 pc of his own money on the table. The only guy who played 100 pc on his own was guy . Even antonius and negreanu were probably staked. Okay jamie gold probably played 100 pc on his own cause who the f is stupid enough to stake him at this sick game vs the best at the time.

This was the prime of my poker days. Grind it out at the home games and come home to watch HSP and Poker after Dark. All of these guys were so fun to watch and a great commentator on top of it. Plus the internet was just getting started too with Fulltilt and Pokerstars.

Don't feel no where as engaging as the old stuff, but least we got more of it i guess....

Gabe & AJ were gold together. Best cash game show ever.

I’m pretty certain Jamie Gold would get frequently get felted in a standard 1-3 game. The epitome of ‘just because someone plays a lot of poker, doesn’t mean they’re actually good at poker.’

Guy was a street performer at some point in his life. He still understand the value of money and what it represents for some people. He was there to have fun, not break lifes. Im not surprised he did offered that kind of break to Beyamine.

something about Gabe Kaplan's voice just makes him the perfect poker announcer. like, it's not just his ridiculously thorough knowledge and experience of the game. it's not just the stupidly high quality of his casting skills. it's his voice, too. it just screams "poker!"

I remember when this debuted on GSN on Mondays. My parents despised gambling so I couldn't watch the initial 8pm est debute so I had to wait till the rerun came on at 2am to watch it lol. And you would say why wouldn't I just tape it well they would see what I was taping and turn it off . Back 2006 there was no streaming or new shows on KZread. This show was so revolutionary at the time.

This was a season of huge pots

Now david is living the Philippines with his (not sure) wife, saw him playing $10/$20 PLO about a year ago. Guess Guy did save him.

This is a tough one! We tried figuring out what defines pot size and if you look at the from how much a player won versus how big the pot was when they ended up all in you're going to end up with a very strange list. Which hand do you think was the "biggest pot?"

Jamie’s a true definition of WEASEL ! Notice how he cried his way and begged Farha not to bet again , then vs Patric when Patrick had him beat with the straight , he was crying and asking him to deal the turn and river 3 times and Patrick was nice and agrees to run it 3 times , first deal Jamie won with full house and right away he started crying saying he should have ran it once only ! he’s a true WEASEL !

I don't know why but in poker I like these guys and nobody else...
