@@wilhelmraspe1846 fair point. I wouldn't feel so bad for him. He's likely been in that situation a few times throughout his career. Doyle, I assume, felt it was ok to make that joke and that David wouldn't have taken it to heart.

@@wilhelmraspe1846 It may have sounded revolting but it’s not always about what someone says it’s about why they say it. Doyle’s little jab/comment was saving Benyamine from feeling he had to stay with running it once when Guy is offering options. Benyamine keeps repeating to Guy that he said once so once and Negreanu chiming in for some reason nobody knows with “you (Guy) said once…once” and Benyamine’s head is spinning and he’s actually arguing against his own best interest. Doyle sees this so cracks a little joke at Benyamine’s expense to bring him back before it’s too late and does it without suggesting what they should do with THEIR hand, unlike Negreanu. Suddenly Benyamine’s not arguing against himself anymore. We’ll never know for sure but had Guy not let him off the hook right after I think Benyamine would have asked to run it 2 or 3 or 4 times but definitely would not have stuck with only once. Point is that Doyle’s comment slowed David down which is WHY Doyle says it and that’s why Doyle is the man. And who knows, maybe it ended up giving a little extra time for Guy to come up with the best offer Benyamine’ or anyone in his spot is ever gonna get at a poker table.

i feel like benyamine takes unnecessary crap for the last hand. he was fine with running it once if they were going to run it. i don't blame him, he was only about 12% to win both. he was going to run it once but if guy offers to just take the middle, losing 50k and move on to the next hand is a much better spot.

That’s why Guy wanted to play for such high stakes. He knows most of the pros are out of their comfort zones.

28:00 guy proceeds to make one of the worst deals in the history of televised cash poker here. 2-1 favorite in a 1.2 million pot and instead of just running it twice he decides to fuck himself out of all his equity. He won all the money that was in the pot preflop plus sammy's bet and David's raise, profiting a total of $64,400 when in reality 65% of a 1.227 million dollar pot belongs to him. On average he will profit almost 200k when they decide to run it.

    Laliberte lose the benefit of approximate 1227.9k * ( 65-35 ) / 100 / 2 - 113.9k / 2 ~ 127k by deciding the early win.
