Should be able to keep divine artifacts forever, but you are given increasing pact shards for each additional floor you keep it beyond the first one.

Man's fighting for his life here. Also, I won't use the keyword, as it would spoil the most.. Hrm, "fun" part of the video.

I think the longest I've spent replaying the same combat was about eight hours. It was a very scuffed exUmbra/Stygian run where I double-buffed a Crypt Builder at a temple and took a five-times dupe on it. At that point I'd already whiffed on Offering Token, but I figured I'd find some discard later. You know, wishful thinking. Zero Frenzied Swarms, zero Deep Offerings, and not even a lowly Drain were offered. I did, however manage to pick up several Engine Upgrades to help me play the damned things, and that was, well, awkward. Did you know you can't have a floor with less than one pip? I mean, if you can find a way to hurl enough Crypt Builders at stuff you can still win. It wasn't great, but it worked... until Divinity. The waves were too wide. I couldn't reach the boss, and I never found Intrinsic for Remnant Pact so I lost Primordium and couldn't scale my banner unit for Relentless. That was, um, a random Crucible Warden infused with a Mollusk Mage, because apparently a +30, +10 Piercing Crypt Builder doesn't hit hard enough on its own. Yeah. The combat seemed impossible, but there was a way. The MVP card that bailed out this doomed run was Plink. No. Wait. You heard that right. Plink. And at this point, I think you can understand why it took eight hours. I'd focused more on removing Frozen Lances and wound up upgrading most plinks instead of parting with then. So, in order to squeak out a victory, Plink needed to up its game, put on sniper goggles, and clear out the low health targets so I could focus the Crypt Builders on the big guys. And Plink, of course, is rather famous for always hitting the things you want it to. Screaming in frustration, it was like leading a herd of blind cats into an Olympic-style ballet dance. I had to do everything I possibly could to manipulate the RNG, including picking floors carefully, skipping playing cards intentionally so plinks on subsequent turns would hit better targets, and choosing carefully when to drop morsels. Yes, even that made a difference, as the emberdrain on the top floor alters RNG. In the end, I managed to turn Plink into a weapon of mass destruction, and fed my doggy enough plink-generated morsels so its damage shield could last through Relentless. It was a long, hard-fought battle, and something I hope never to do again.

Eight hours? That must've been a lot of initially good-looking RNG paths that eventually led to a dead run.

A full time job's day of work on a single Monster Train combat is too much for even me, and I've got some 2-3 hour runs on the channel where I completely lose my mind haha. It's impressive you managed to find the way through, though, haha.

I'd love to see some of the 30 minute runs, I still remember Northernlion getting my into Monster Train and one of my favourite videos of him is the hellrush where its a 1-2 minute timer per round, I take ages on my turns and watching people go crazy fast is always fun.

a really long time mt fan, i would really like more trainwreck videos, basically the only video type i watch in ur channel as ive now seen u as "the high shards guy" (no offense on your other contents ofc, i just like voyix's normal run better since they are very fast compared to your normal video length (im chowing down his back logs at this point)) i watch your videos when i have 3 hours to myself, so theyre kind of a treat for me on weekends or long breaks, just hoping u could pump more of them haha since im going to run out pretty soon

I make one every week! Trainwreck is tied with Train of Thought for my most popular series so it'll always be around, but I think my normal series is pretty well-separated from Voyix that there isn't much overlap in how we're playing.

@@RisingDusk honestly, losing from time to time might just be what keeps it exciting, because we never know beforehand if you will win. Maybe 30 minutes is to limited, but something like 45 minutes and not looking at the map beforehand could be just enough to shake things up.

17:15 If only there was some way to keep a divine relic. Imagine if you could give up the boss relic from Daedalus or something for that right there. I don't know if it would be correct, but it would be funny as hell.

  • @KazeNoKlonoa0

I wonder if ring 7 might've been easier if you used Soul-crushing Guilt on the Steelwings. They have only slightly more health than the Pyrewinga but no Regen and deal only 4 damage instead of 6 per round, for a total of 24 damage at worst. You might still leak the Pyrewings and eat the ember drain but you'd push 100-200 damage which is better than 1 or 2 Daze.

It's really tough and punishes wide floors in a major way. That combat alone on high shards represents an absolute wall of hit points to chew through on every floor, which is really brutal.

Furnace Tap unfortunately means I never play a card again because of Pyrewings and its own Emberdrain... I don't see any turn where that puts me ahead of my alternatives.
