this isn’t the kind of arrangement that you can just listen to in the background, when you give it your full attention you can truly soak how intricate and beautiful it is, everything from the dissonance and resolution of all the moving parts to the timbre and tone of all the individual players. truly the arrangement ive every heard from a string group

3:41 eyes watering again watching the cello player in grey and realizing how many f***king hours of practice it takes, the dedication to play that well, all for what? for musical expression, all for this moment.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE MADE SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL
That "what you say" drop after all that build up is amazing, gave me chill. Awesome job guys.
Please tell me Imogen has heard this cover... by herself she is amazing, especially with those gloves she helped develop... but if you were to collaborate. I would probably either squeal with joy or melt with the unearthly-angelic sound. Thank you for the amazing rendition. If I post multiples I am sorry... youtube is acting wierd.
I am a 54 year old man who has never cried as a result of listening to a song. Until today.
Goosebumps at 2:05 and on, so damn good.
So excited for you guys to see this one. Working with Dover is such a dream! They are the nicest and most talented people ever. Don't miss their performance of Smetana's "From My Life" Quartet over on Brooklyn Classical. (While you're at it, you should just watch all their other videos on KZread.) Brooklyn Duo I love this song, and y'all covered it so amazingly! 💕 So beautiful I wish I could listen to it on loop while I fall asleep.
This makes me tear up ever time not sure why, makes me think of loved ones gone away and days past but beautiful too.. God bless and help all hurting people.
I can't get over how absolutely crucial every single part of this group is. The coordination required is just insane to me. This could not possibly be better.
I don’t know why but I just cried. Sometimes music has a beautiful way of bringing emotions to the surface we didn’t even know we were feeling. Thank you for this.

Right? When you hear the lyrics for this you will cry again. It's just a profound song. These musicians captured the emotions perfectly. Thank you for your comment.
I don't often comment on KZread videos but I just have to let you know that this is still the one song which gives me goosebumps each time I listen to it. I found it (or perhaps it found me) at a time when I felt numb, tired, and like nothing mattered. I was drawn in by the tender and soulful build-up of this song, and when that moment at 3:24 landed, I was shaken to my very core with the beauty, passion and energy which you all conveyed and expertly pulled together. I breathed for what felt like the first time in months. For bringing amazing music into the world I thank you, but for making me feel again, I owe you. Words cannot express my gratitude but for now I guess 'Thank you' will have to suffice :)

Chris Ray Gun I subscribed to this group a while ago on a channel that I abandoned, and I completely forgot to resub. When I saw your tweet I clicked on it, and then realized that this was a channel I used to love (plus I too have found the value of this song outside of a shitty meme). So yeah thanks for helping me discover/rediscover some really good music at four in the morning.

Tbh I was NOT expecting to see a comment from you here I was just going through some Hide and Seek covers cause it's one of my favorite songs lmao But I love your videos and I also really loved this video! Btw, if you ever do see this, I highly recommend watching a children's choir cover of this song. It's arranged by Mark O'Leary if I recall correctly and it's absolutely beautiful.
Haha! The pizzicato towards the end was a BEAUTIFUL touch. I didn't see it coming. Nice touch indeed.
I was emotional throughout but I burst into tears at the bridge. I cant handle this song in any of its versions

Incredibly on spot with the emotional way Imogene performs this piece.
Such a rich sound for a KZread video. Bravo to the audio guy in your group.
Stunning
Tears started falling from my eyes from the first note. This blows me away.
3:24 *Wow my soul just ascended to the 4th dimension i-*
I cannot properly convey the effect this cover had on my soul. First time I listened to it, I sobbed uncontrollably for about 15 minutes. And that's never happened to me by just listening to a song. Not only is Hide and Seek one of my favorite songs of all time, but to have my favorite musicians on KZread cover it was something else entirely. It was deeply moving. You guys are the best.
A clear example of what the pure art of great musicians can lead to: other great musicians' admiration
I wanted to do a very long comment about how I feel about this arrangement and performance but I'll keep it short for now. Unfathomably perfect, I legitimately cannot mention one thing that could have been done better, completely and utterly perfect in a way I haven't ever heard before. You kept the discordant part early in, that's a stamp of perfection if I've ever heard it. Magnificent, thank you.
please take my honest respect and sincere gratitude. you've reopened a musical door I thought I'd closed. stunning
3:25 my ears could not handle such majesty
I have NEVER heard such a beautiful cover of this song. Outstanding performance.
I can't believe I will never experience that build up for the first time ever again
The original is one of my favorite songs, and you guys blew this out of the park too
I miss my grandchildren so very much.
you can always tell when someone likes music when it makes you cry. you guys are really amazing. thanks for being awesome.
The sweeping burst of energy at the mmm whatcha say part!! Followed by the breathless intensity of that whispered pizzicato! You didn't just pay the notes, you didn't even just capture the creative, tricky harmonies. . . You actually wove Imogen's EMOTIONALITY intro it. HOW??
i am crying. This is so beautiful

Someone call Shondaland, this needs to be on Bridgerton!
I would give my hand for the thesis, that if you let people all over the world listen to this at the same time, no later than 3:24 the world would stand still for a moment. Something like this is able to connect us all on a deeper level. A level that isnt interested in age, language, ethnicity, looks, money or power... it would stand still, and i would even go as far as saying, something would change... i just found this. And i am sooooo thankful !!!!! Thank you guys !!!
It's been years since I've heard a piece of music that gives me full body chills start to finish. This is pure, unadulterated, harmonious perfection 🥺
Wow. This level of talent isn't seen on radio or television. A shame that the masses don't get to see what talent is.
I'd never thought it'd be possible to transcribe this piece into anything other than Imogen Heap's voice and her electronics. Wow!
Was waiting for the bass drop at 3.24. Hahahaha. Soo cool

MY FAVE QUARTET PLAYING ONE OF MY FAVE SONGS??? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED UNTIL NOW?! AMAZING!!!
Ugghhh... So beautiful and hypnotizing. Seriously watched this video 5 times already.
Love watching each musician's face respond to and interpret the music: now lyrical and joyful, now quiet and cautious, now ambitious and serious, now just at peace. What a performance.
I don't really comment on youtube videos but I love to listen to instrumental music when I study and every time this comes up I realise how beautiful music can be. Thank you.
It’s memorizing watching you guys sway to the music, you can tell they really love what they are doing! The song it absolutely beautiful!
The most beautiful rendition of this song i have ever heard.
Goosebumps doesn't cover it. Someone has said "soul has left body"... yes! ... incredibly powerful and an undeniable beauty that is simultaneously earthly and ethereal.
Phenomenal work! My soul left my body 3:24 throughout.

Facts. My mind went from fortnite to buying insurance and investing into a Roth IRA. For like 20 seconds my life was together...
just.... bravo. That first "hide and seek" was just.... it needs to be in a movie
the "you don't care a bit, no, no" parts at the end made so many tears well up in my eyes. I discovered this video about 3 years ago and am still amazed by it every time
Where are we? What the hell is going on? The dust has only just begun to form Crop circles in the carpet Sinking, feeling Spin me around again And rub my eyes This can't be happening When busy streets A mess with people Would stop to hold their heads heavy Hide and seek Trains and sewing machines All those years They were here first Oily marks appear on walls Where pleasure moments hung before The takeover The sweeping insensitivity of this Still life Hide and seek Trains and sewing machines Blood and tears They were here first Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that you only meant well Well of course you did Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that it's all for the best Of course it is Mm, what'd you say? Mm, that it's just what we need You decided this Mm, what'd you say? Mm, what did she say? Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts Speak no feeling, no, I don't believe you You don't care a bit, you don't care a bit Oh, no, you don't care a bit Oh, no, you don't care a bit Uh-uh, you don't care a bit You don't care a bit You don't care a bit
Wow. Just wow I don't know how you can get thru a performance without weeping.. one of my favorites too, from the very first phrase

Shakes McTremens you can cry while playing a stringed instrument. It helps with the vibrato.
I played cello many years ago but I had to drop it... Now, listening to this I just want to start again! That was impressive and so beautifl. Amazing guys.
I used to ear this song long time ago, and I don't know how I get here, but I'm crying right now, listen to this version makes me remember how I used to feel that days and it's beautiful, so thank you for this treasure.
Goosebumps. Amazing.
Props to the pianist. She was really on point and I'd love to see more of her. I know how hard it is to keep time through all of that. Much love and respect.
This is probably tied with Antoine Dufour's version of the song for the best arrangement I've ever heard.
My heart is MELTING! Especially 3:24 blows my mind. Such a wonderful, broad and warm timbre. It brings me so much joy!
I legitimately got goosebumps at the "ooh what'd she say?" So powerful, so beautiful.
Omg omg omg. No words. None. Just tears.
I didn't know how anyone could've made the original song better. But you guys somehow did that, and then some. Amazing.
eyes watering at 1:35 from the insane softness and delicacy of bow strokes, what beautiful reality would be the world that this music describes.
3:24 , blown away, phenomenal, absolutely wonderful. love to my ears
I've not once completed this video without bawling.
Usually when I see comments that say "this made me cry" I get cynical and assume it's over exaggeration. Then I watched this, and actually teared up several times. Absolutely beautiful.
3:25 i have the sudden urge to run through an abandoned castle with a long flowing white dress

Me too...and I’m a guy
I come back to this every now and again. The emotions doesn't fade. It hits just as much as it did when I first came across this. It's a masterpiece.
Everyone in this performance is so into the performance. It's like they're all getting high off of watching each other get high off of playing the song. You can tell they all love the song very much and I love when it's so obvious in the performance of it. Very well done!
I get chills at that drop every single time, no matter how many times I listen.
fallen in love with this song again recently...and now I think I love it even more. You made that so beautiful, thank you
A rich and gorgeous spellbinding interpretation of this piece. I found myself grateful for the pauses and refrains so my emotions would catch up. Splendid work ladies and gentlemen!
Thats the best thing ive ever heard. And thats coming from a lifelong musician 😱
Is this real? It's far too incredible. Moved almost to tears by the spectacular nature of this video!
Truly beautiful. Thank you for using the language of music to minister to my soul and spirit!
This is the most beautiful version of this song I’ve ever heard. It brought a tear to my eyes.
This is unbelievably beautiful! There is so much love and respect for Imogen Heap's song shining from every single note that's played. Totally overwhelming! Thank you so much for this!
Simply amazing. Taking a great track and elevating it to a place I did not think existed.
Acoustic perfection.
That high note ALWAYS gets me, I look forward to that part in every version of it but on the violin 💫✨ Just...wow
This is the type of arrangement I can hear during a sad movie ❤️😭 and then it gets happy
I've watched you play this melody over the last few months and it still brings tears to my eyes.
I really love how many varied covers there are of this song on KZread
After all this time I still get chills, ESP @3:04🔥🔥🔥🎵
Do not get me wrong. This will not work without everyone playing to perfection. But by god at 3:24 the Cello at the center of your screen is magical. The loudest and maybe most important. They all do their job perfectly though. Beautiful work to this entire group.
It´s a dream. No words.
This is the best classical version of hide and seek I heard so far 👍👍👍
I don't think I've ever had the chills throughout an entire song ever until just now
This is breathtaking. I have no words, only tears. My favorite Imogen song on strings. I can't even say thank you enough.
How appropriate that I should find this now when my heart needed a soundtrack the most. Beautifully done!!!
