We’re continuing our tour of all the wine wonders Italy has to offer, and our tour of the classic regions in the wine world more generally. After covering Tuscany in quite some details over the past two episodes, today we’re staying in Central Italy, and I want to give you an overview of some perhaps lesser known regions compared to Tuscany, names than are less famous than Chianti for example, but areas and appellations certainly worth having in mind to enjoy the full variety in Italian wine. I’ve covered the white wines from these areas in a previous white wine-specific video, so today we’re focusing on the reds from Abruzzo, Marche, and Umbria:
00:00 - Introduction to Central Italy Wine
01:46 - Abruzzo, The Land of One Grape: Montepulciano
04:54 - Lesser-Know but Promising Marche Reds
07:10 - Red Wine Wonders of Umbria

Great video as always. One question, at 6.35 you mention “ every region has an IGT...”. It was my understanding that Valle d’Aosta and Piemonte did not have any IGTs. Umbira sagrantino are some amazing bold reds!

Cònero not Conéro, please. Stress in Italian is often tricky.
