@@CyndaReal According to Sakurai, CERO, Japan's rating board asks if a character's panties or other sexual areas would show if you turned the character upside down. They had to put pants on Palutena and Mai Shiranui couldn't be added to the game both for this reason. Yes, a character doesn't even actually have to be turned upside down anywhere in the game, it's just "what if they were, if that happened would gravity make their underwear or private parts show?"

Honestly, I think the Tharja trophy being removed is probably thanks to CERO, not the ESRB. They have been _really_ cracking down on anything remotely sexual lately, and Sakurai has expressed his annoyance at this. Also, the Japanese name of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is "Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki," which I'm told translates to "trail of blue flames." The title Ike is known by is therefore a reference to the title of his game of origin, in both Japanese and English.

Im not sure if he speaks when you set up Smash Ultimate to be Japanese or not (Dont play as him as often as I thought I would XD), but that is exactly why i gotten the Japanese version of Smash Bros Melee. And yes his voice in the game is BAD@$$

I wish you could pick the language for each fighter. I would have Hero, Marth, Roy, Ryu, Joker, Pokemon Trainer (but not his Pokémon), and Mewtwo in Japanese. Hero actually says the name of his spells in the Japanese version, Mewtwo’s voice is badass, Japanese Marth and Roy is just classic, Pokémon Trainer’s English voice is just terrible, and Ryu and Joker are literally from Japan.

I presume that’s because Lucina started out as an alt costume to Marth anyways, and Lucina was easy enough to create as a model from Marth’s base while Chrom would be a bit more difficult (a model was still made for the Final Smash, of course, but surely there’s a difference between a model made to serve the purpose for fighting and one for a special move and some victory animations) Same deal with Dark Pit and Dr. Mario. Always intended as alt. costumes, but were made fully fledged fighters at some point. But not Alph. Funny how that works.

Funny thing is that Lucina have the same bone structure as Marth but added few bones for the hair. It's the same height and the same size. I don't know if you notice, but Lucina is smaller than Marth even though bones are the same size. The reason for that is the game's parameter making Lucina 7% smaller than Marth.

Honestly, the only things I like better about Smash 4 was the design for Link (they should have made TP Link an alternate costume in Ultimate) and the way it handled online play. Smash Ultimate is just better in every other way though.

It doesn't seem like Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U and later titles contains any region exclusive/excluding content, and only features texture differences at most. Unlike older Smash games that had exclusive and changed trophies between regions. - I wonder if Tharja would have been fine being featured in the European version of the game, as it's rated PEGI 12, and you can get away with quite a lot of sexual content. But having region exlusive content is just more work to consider.

Thank you, it’s nice seeing some content on the 3DS & Wii U versions of Smash despite Ultimate being out and really popular still. Unpopular opinion: the viruses would be so sick as a fighter. Standing on top of each other, their positions influence things like stats, the effect of their smash attacks, and the elements of their special attacks. Final smash: virus rain. It's PK starstorm but much more projectiles, less damage and elemental effects

The gameplay was definitely VERY solid, knockback speed not withstanding, and Smash Run on 3DS was WAAAAY more fun than it needed to be, definitely gave me Kirby Air Ride City Trial vibes. It probably would’ve been better if it just stayed on Wii U.

You forgot to mention: in early screenshots, birds are holding up the platforms in the Spirit Tracks stage, but in the final game they're just floating.

In the jp version of smash ultimate, piranha plant is called packun flower

Probably already addressed, but just in case: The option of having a low res Roy with no cape and bandana is most likely leftovers from the character rig. Usually when animating a character, things like bandanas, capes and coats get in the way of the animation when you are blocking it, and rigs, for the most part, are heavier than the final product since it has controllers and properties that help the animator do their work more smoothly, but they are removed when added into the engine since there's no need to have them, so a way to make the rig lighter and allow the computer run the 3d software it is been used to animate, riggers usually have a "low resolution" version of the character so animators can work faster. Later on in the process, animators start going back and forth between the low res and high res rig to make adjustments. Capes and bandanas can be simulated, but they still get help from animation, but they are usually left for last, since their animations are basically reactions to whatever the character's doing, also known as "follow through".

As much as I still love Smash Ultimate, Smash 4 still had some elements I really enjoyed, especially the 3DS version. It had a great Classic Mode, and Smash Run was really fun. I'd love a platforming mode, but I get the restrictions of Ultimate. Although Smash Run can get obnoxious sometimes.

Also, damn does that Tharja trophy look good.

Pretty sure Rhythm Heaven was supposed to be a mix like how Duck Hunt was really NES Zapper but the Zapper on its own wouldn't work as a character so Sakurai ripped off Banjo Kazooie (and *_boy_* was he ever cheeky about it in the Banjo Kazooie reveal trailer, he knew _exactly_ what he did)
