"They're NOT your friends!" I love me some Steve Harvey..... he's straight to the point.

I also did a business with clothing and accessories. Sent 8 of my friends some items i was selling for them to post online. I gave it as gifts. I even made them choose. The 3 posted it online. The others just said thanks and never posted anything. When i was about to send the last 2 packages for my 2 remaining friends that I didn’t see for a longer time, they messaged me fist before i could tell them i will send them gifts. They ordered from me and paid me. I said my plan. They said it was ok that they’ll pay. If i had a friend who was starting something like that i would buy from her. Even if she gives me a gift, i will still buy for support. Mind you, those friends have good jobs :)so money shouldn’t have been an issue. So that is why i reevaluated my friendships and when i saw some signs again, i had to remove most of them. They were not real friends. I guess everyone has diff definition of friendships, but to me friendships should be like family, with love and support. The funny and weird thing about unsupportive friends is that they’re the ones who want to always be updated with your life. But never want to support you or cAre. Lol. They just want to be updated so they can ruin you or see if you will really keep succeeding. Evil girls

I will never understand how friends can be jealous of another's successes. If you are my friend, I genuinely want the best things to happen to you! It's so disheartening when you support your friends' growth and success, but they turn their back on yours. I will never get it.

Youre putting wrong label to those so called “friends”. We need to better identify actual friends, but I believe most people are mediocre and genuine good people are hard to come by

Strangers will support your dreams more than people you've known for many years I have found out. I don't understand why but strangers have always been more supportive than people I've known for many many years.

The way I evaluate a friendship is I pay attention to how they react to my good and bad news. If there’s a lot of energy in the negative, I put them on probation and I start making my exit.

None of my friends support my small business. They would go to someone else but not me. My classmates and new people I meet support my business... more then my real friends and even pay full price.

I did the clean up 3 years ago, became so lonely, but never regret because it's gave me the huge opportunity to be myself best fiend . Now I have opened my space to new friendship.

I remember when my little brother passed away and i had a gofundme page posted for him on my facebook, not a single like or comment or share from my "friends". Deleted it ever since. Its funny how people will probably only act like they care about you when you dead, but cant bother to be around or call when alive. Goes to show their priorities

This advice is truly helpful. I’m in a season of my young life where I feel like i have no true support system in my social life. I show up for fair weather friends but they don’t show up for me. Time to take inventory.

I have a "friend " who never responds to anything that is good that happens to me. She has a lot to say when I am unhappy but when I share with her a blessing all she says is "nice." That's it. Not "I'm happy for you". Not congratulations. All she says is nice. Seems like she's happier when I'm miserable. And as they say watch those who don't clap for you when you win. Though I called her a friend I know she is really a frienemy and is jealous of anything that I have been able to accomplish. It's not that I am not humble about it, I do not brag about anything but I simply share with her because I always celebrate her blessings. Anyway good times and bad times tell you who your true friends are.

So I had my feature film debut and my "best friend" didn't even acknowledge it or anything. A week later I finally texted him "Are you happy for me?" which he was like, "Yeah, I'm happy for you" ...he didn't even know what I was talking about. Then I said I had my film debut and it was awesome. To which he said "I'm happy for you! We'll talk about it soon." Weeks went by and NOTHING. I was there for his wedding as his best man and for his career and for the time he needed me during his break up with his girlfriend. He's NOT my best friend -_- I deserve so much better and deserve people who are there for me and care for me and I'm not settling for less anymore.

Steve could have added reciprocate the positivity that those check mark friends are giving you. Make sure those check mark people aren't putting a dark dot or asterisk next to your name in their contacts. It's a shame about human nature that we usually take our good friends and family for granted and we give our energy and time to things and people that do not serve us

...never delete ur contacts! You want to know who's calling u so u dont accidentally answer the phn. Keep ur circle small and u wont need to color code contacts, you'll know who's there for u. *my kids watched me hit silence on a call and asked what if it's an emergency. I said, that's what 911 is for... not my problem.

Ooo that was some good message right there. I learned that several years back and glad I did. Just like those cold call people. I put "DA (Don't answer) next to those people and I NEVER picked up. Just always let it ring. Soon enough hey just stopped calling me and asking people if I was okay. I said yeah, tell them I just wanted to be free from the people who only called when they wanted something. Never asked about me again and I was grateful

Girl u seem so genuine u really don’t need them. Honestly that’s why I stay to myself I’m seriously afraid of people. Most always want something. Or come with some drama. And I’m not about that. I’m happier by myself. I had to start enjoying my own company and I’ve never been better. ❤️

Had to send this to my twenty year old son whose friends will have him pick them up from college. More than once he drove them seventy miles to New Orleans for food.

I know first hand that exactly this is something that all small business owners experience. If you know a small business owner and you haven't referred even one potential customer to them in the last six months, you are not trying to help them succeed. At best, you're on the 50/50 list.

wait, wait... your loyal friends can and will support you, but not at the detriment of their own reputation. On the other hand if they say your business is good and they are even wearing your dresses (as in this shows example) then.... just get rid of them , there not your friends...

I was having anxiety about posting my online store on my social media. I know many of my “friends” won’t support and simply watch.. like they always do. Needed to hear this. Just had to block someone I considered my best friend of 8 years. Anything going good in my life she’s not there to celebrate. Just went through a second accident, a divorce and a rape and she didn’t contact me at all for 6 months and then randomly calls me like nothing happened. BLOCK!

Sometimes in life you also need to communicate that you need your friends' support. You cant just assume that they should know what kind of support you need. Eg she hosts events. Her friends may think she's at work therefore making an appearance would be a distraction to her. Further, her products may not be to their tastes, or they may have their own financial goals and spending money on products they don't need or want would also impede them from achieving those goals. Just sayin, she needs to have conversations with her friends and find out their perspective too. Someone who borrows a dress sounds broke to me.. when I started my business I refused to work for any family or friends to avoid any family discounts and tension. My family would probably say I wasnt being supportive of their needs but I didn't want to mix business with family relations. It could be also that some of her friends are thinking on those lines to avoid a situation (for example where they are dissatisfied with a product and have to insist on a refund

Steve is speaking a word, I've cut so many people off over the past couple years

the same happened to me when i opened my crochet business. none of who i thought were my friends supported me, one of them took a huge order and never paid.

I will be 36 in a few weeks. I lost a lot of friends when I got pregnant with my now 9 year old daughter. At first I would get asked by some of my coworkers about going out to dinner or for a drink as a group but I chose every single time to go home to my daughter (I'm a single mom and have been since the beginning). One friend I had I knew for over 10 years and she was older than me but didn't know how to drive. She was married but I was single and with a child and all of her other friends were in relationships. Steve and his father are right. I am allergic to b.s. and so I am cutting out all of the b.s. because it's a waste of time and energy. This girl deserves better and everyone else that has gone through this deserves better.

Is can relate to her. One of my so call best friend started hating on me after 15years of friendships I had to ended it was hard I am still heart broken. But it was the best thing to do. Is hard to have people that you have shared to some hate on the fact that you are doing better than them. ☹️

Surprisingly, what Steve's saying is exactly what I've been doing. Did not hesitate to block or even look back as soon as I saw a red flag. Then the only time my phone rang was from my few good friends, other than that damn annoying spam calls.

There is no true friends in this world I use to think I had friends until I got married and then I started seeing disappearing from my life some also started negative comments and when they had I gave birth they never even came to see me they all said they can’t come without gift but I realized they just couldn’t handle the news and that they r jealous am glad they ain’t in my life anymore my hubby is my best friend don’t need no friend aka fake jealous friends

A good, quality friend is one who encourages you & supports you. But they never lie to make you feel better about something. A quality friend confronts you about issues and concerns because they care about you. Never retain a friend who only has flattering things to say. We can't grow like that. Respect the friend who tells you the hard truth so that you have the tools to change when necessary. That's valuable. "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (Proverbs 27:6).

She is blissful and beautiful. Lovely smile as well. God will take you on a certain walk in your life and a lot of people will be erased because they are not destined to be on that walk with you. So when they fall off always remember God has purpose for you and the people that he will assign into your life, you won't even have to question or second guess.

BUT that doesn’t mean i cut ties my relationship with my friends. I’M SUPPORTIVE OF THEM, AND I’M PROUD OF WHERE THEY ARE NOW LIKE I’M THEIR MOTHER 😂
