I'm one of those RH fans who's quite disappointed, but not surprised. Those fashion packs are very meh. The budget dolls would be less horrible if the slime Rainbow World thing wasn't happening. No wrist articulation for anyone!

I just bought the Madison two pack for $24. Probably a good thing they are on a decline because I'm running out of room for them, and I can save money. They are nice good dolls to go out on. I'm not going to miss the pain in the neck unboxings.

The difference between MGA's $30 doll and Mattel's $30 doll is I can wait for MGA's $30 doll, because MGA oversaturates the market, and get Rainbow/Shadow High dolls for literally dollars. I got Jett Dawson for $5, and Maria Garcia, everyone's grail Lily Cheng and Paris Hilton for $30 each. You would NEVER get a $100+ Mattel doll for $30, six months after it's release, from a primary retailer.

Omg I didn't know there was a brunette version of the 65th anniversary doll. She looks absolutely badass, especially with those glasses! I'm not completely in love with the dress, so I'm not sure if I will be getting her. If I can find someone selling just her base doll for a reasonable price, then I might get her.

Just discovered your channel, and love it! (Sorry about the rough patch you're going through, though.) Just FYI, I bought the Barbie 12 Days of Christmas set in December and that doll is absolutely stunning IRL. Both outfits are gorge, and the box itself is fantastic. Even though she's not Silkstone, she's made of a heavier plastic than usual and just feels more substantial. If it ever goes on sale I might get another, lol...

I just got into doll collecting a few months ago. I decided to go with Barbie (and the odd Lol doll). I seem to have joined at a time when everything is going downhill, lol. A lot of ppl tell me the new Barbies are awful and in some cases I agree, but I actually like the Barbie Extras and a few of the Fashionistas (not the ones coming out in 2024 though).

I'm so sorry your winter has been shit. If it makes you feel better, I lost my not-for-profit job that I was incredibly passionate about for 4 years because they hired a new manager and she wanted to start fresh. I was the senior employee. Then I scrambled for a job and ended up in a management position at a job that fundraises for not-for-profits (specifically my old job) and she will need to cooperate directly with me in order to manage her new position. Life is funny. Also I make more than her now. It will all work out hun.

Omg, talk about everything hitting you at once. I am so sorry. This happened to me also a few years ago and it is hard to recover from so you have my deepest sympathy. Now to the dolls. Mattel is definitely inconsistent with their pricing and it drives me crazy. Don't get me started on Rainbow High's rebranding. Ugh, I have been a faithful collector of these dolls since the beginning but I really do not like these. I will probably get some of these anyway because I can't help myself. The Barbie collector dolls took my breath away. Gorgeous. Really how does someone choose with limited funds, who to get? Damn I need to win the lottery. Take care.

I will die on the hill that Carlyle Nuera is a fantastic designer - but ONLY when he doesn't have a budget. Carlyle likes to mix fabrics to create contrast and interest, so a beautiful Carlyle doll is always going to be an *expensive* doll. However, Carlyle cannot be bothered with trifling minutiae like "budgets" or "cost-effective fabrics." Take a Carlyle design and put it on a budget doll, and it's hideous. Give Carlyle free rein and no budget - you'll get a stunning doll.

Wait wait wait, how are you only making that much per weekend in hospitality? I've never understood the tip system in America we don't do that here in Australia. Don't you have a base wage? When I was working in bars and restaurants I'd get a minimum 21 bucks an hour on week days then on weekends you'd get sometimes 30 per hour. That's minimum wage. Tipping is more of a bonus but no one has to do it. This was like 10 years ago too. I'm sorry I'm just outraged that such a stressful and physically demanding job has such shit pay! Wtf. You deserve so much more
